“Pros: Convenient location. Neat 2 and 3 floor apartments. Nearly renovated apartments. Value for the moneys decent. Comes with a lot of frustration though. Cameras are installed in the lobby as of 2023. Cons: 59th at bridge traffic gets backed up in front of the building daily. It’s loud. Elevator breaks once a month. Water stops running at least once a month. Plumbers said landlord won’t properly fix the pumps. Hot waters often not working. Many layouts don’t have adequate air flow. There’s often package theft, even with cameras. The door intercom was upgraded but it’s garbage. People ring it and it stays on a black screen half the time and beeps. Switch to a modern mobile app please. Advice to landlord: Stop being cheap with the small repairs, spend the money to replace what’s broken. Replace the intercoms.”
— 359 EAST 62 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Spacious units with outdoor space. Amazing super who is very attentive. Wall unit air conditioners. Renovated units. Exposed brick. Elevator building. Laundry in building. Fair utility billing. Attentive maintenance Cons: Issues with package theft due to tenants letting in non-resident. Older building lobby. Basement where laundry and trash is is a little rundown. Elevator is very old a bit slow, occasionally doesn’t work. Have seen dead cockroaches in the building stairwell. Advice to landlord: Modernize the building a bit, install cameras, fix door buzzer, install door buzzer that links to phone (butterfly software)”
— 359 EAST 62 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: -Split level units/cool layouts -pretty spacious units -responsive live-in super -laundry in the basement -dishwashers -good natural light in most units -close to a lot of places of interest -can’t hear your neighbors except when they are in the hallway, or if they walk heavily -no bedbugs Cons: -smoking allowed -unreliable elevator Advice to landlord: Fix the two cons”
— 359 EAST 62 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Convenient location to the subway Cons: AWFUL in so many ways - tenants get stuck in the sole elevator multiple times per week, and it is out of service every week for a few days. Cease use order issued by DOB since the elevator is now officially deemed unsafe. Rodents, flies and roaches in the garbage and laundry room. No cameras in the lobby, sketchy people getting in and stealing packages, trying to enter apartments. Management does not care. Advice to landlord: Replace the elevator - it’s been 10+ years of DOB violations, install cameras in the lobby and clean up common areas.”
