“Unit 1b Pros: close to subway and grocery Cons: bad neighborhood, poor communication from property management with things going months without being fixed, high rent for condition of building and failure to maintain units, hit water is literally scorching hot, rodents constantly in building Advice to landlord: get a better PM company/person who cares and is responsive, gets things done”
— 142 EAST 126 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: It’s near public transportation. Cons: Filthy, roach and rat infested and freezing all winter. This apartment is by far the WORST apartment I have ever lived in. The super is lazy and the management is VERY unresponsive. The drug addicts are very aggressive and don’t move out of the doorway when you approach and there is NO heat for the majority of the winter. They don’t pay their ConEdison bill so you’re constantly receiving notices on their behalf and when they get enough complaints they switch the “management company” name even though the address stays the same. Just terrible. Advice to landlord: Sell this building to someone that cares about their tenants not not just their money.”
— 142 EAST 126 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Elevator, basement, access to east and west side Cons: Drug addicts hang out in front of the building. Advice to landlord: Clean up the area”
“Pros: Convenient to public transportation and things to do in Harlem Cons: This building has a serious rodent issue. I constantly heard rodents behind our kitchen walls and saw them in the basement daily. If the elevator is not working, but the bldg allows the trash to build up in the hallways. My neighbor always allowed their dog to pee in the hallways EVERY SINGLE DAY. Advice to landlord: Break the walls and seal all holes”
