“Pros: Convenient location, super is responsive and fixes things quick. My apartment faces inner corridor so no noise from that side Cons: Trash sometimes overflows but also might be due to tenants not properly throwing away stuff”
— 198 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Live in super who is always very responsive and kind. Packages are very secure in a locked room. Cons: Butterfly buzzer sometimes does not work in the cold weather which can be annoying when you live on a higher floor and need to go downstairs to let people in.”
— 198 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Building management is pleasant Cons: Super is a racist and cantankerous person. Has worked in the building so long he thinks he owns it. Advice to landlord: Get a new onsite super”
— 198 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Location is amazing, so close to union square and plenty of great restaurants in east village nearby. It’s has a pretty big bedroom with a big closet Cons: Cockroaches!! All the time no matter what you do. The super is downright rude. He threatens people about recycling and even though he has cameras, will wrongly accuse people of it. Ive seen him take pictures of license plates of people he has argued with. I’ve seen him get into several verbal altercations with people and because of it, I was literally scared of him. Wasn’t super helpful either. Unfortunately there is a language barrier as well. Advice to landlord: Get a new super”
— 198 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 55 Pros: well maintained building Cons: a bigger company bought the building and things don’t get fixed as often or as quickly. they still get done but not quickly. packages go missing occasionally.”
— 198 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Great location, easy access to everything Cons: Super is racist and extremely verbally abusive. He also goes out of his way to be rude to any guests you may have over. Had to seek legal action against him to feel safe in building. Advice to landlord: Don't let new tenants sign without meeting super first.”
— 198 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: - large 2 bedroom units - responsive management - high ceilings - full bathrooms - true 2 bedrooms with a living room, not a winged setup Cons: - occasionally it can be noisy when renting in the back of the building due to it being on top of the Little Poland restaurant. Not a deal breaker imo, but something to be aware of. - building is fairly old, but management keeps up with maintenance Advice to landlord: nothing, management has always been kind, quick, and responsive.”
