“Pros: Nice building, clean and decent neighbors. Cons: You pay way too much for what you get and the landlord is a pos. Will not listen to your concerns and will actively try to antagonize you Advice to landlord: Treat your tenants better.”

— 205 CHRYSTIE STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The building is a couple hundred feet from the Bowery Whole Foods and F line which was pretty great. It’s also close to LES, but not so close that you’re in all the action when you don’t want to be. The stairway was also kept pretty clean, someone came in to mop them once a week consistently. Cons: My biggest issue was the lack of sound insulation — my bedroom faced the street and I could hear everything at night. The buildings right next to a couple clubs including the Box and Outer Heaven (which could be pros), so on the weekends it got pretty loud. I’m a pretty deep sleeper but even I had to turn on a white noise machine and occasionally ear plugs. There were also a couple of roach sightings, your typical slow sink drain, tight space etc. But that’s par for the course for an apartment for this price.”
