“Pros: Price. Location. Other tenants are nice and quiet. Cons: Roaches, mice, repairs take months. Landlord is flippant and shows little to no concern for tenants.”
— 182 AVENUE B · Manhattan“Pros: Building manager usually gets things fixed, convenient location, and no major issues. Very affordable. Cons: Building not cleaned very frequently, have seen mice, no roof access. Packages have been stolen. High traffic area. Advice to landlord: Clean the building more.”
— 182 AVENUE B · Manhattan“Pros: Good location, quiet neighbors Cons: No hot water or gas for weeks. Very hard to get owner to do simple repairs.”
— 182 AVENUE B · Manhattan“Pros: Responsive, fair rent, good community, clean building Cons: Small spaces, usually no bathtubs in units, but most of the newer units have a dishwasher so that's a plus Advice to landlord: No advice, they are very good.”
— 182 AVENUE B · Manhattan“I urge anyone looking into living at 182 Avenue B to look elsewhere. Although the area is nice, the management corp., 182B Realty Corp., and particularly the building manager, Jack Shapiro, is an absolute crook. On top of refusing to fix glaring maintenance issues, Jack Shapiro stole $1,850 from me in the form of refusing to pay back my security deposit due to technicalities NOT involving damage to the unit. According to other previous tenants, he has been known to do this in the past. I urge you to look elsewhere, as doing business with shady, villainous crooks is simply not something anyone should have to live with.”
