“Pros: Super is very attentive to keeping common areas clean, large apartments, great neighborhood, relatively quiet Cons: Management company is the worst, they are non-responsive to emails and phone calls. Every issue we've had has been resolved but has taken an extremely long time and lots of follow up calls and emails.”
— 165 SEAMAN AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 2J Pros: Great location, good neighbors, responsible super Cons: Windows very hard to open, property management company is slimy Advice to landlord: Fix the door entry system”
— 165 SEAMAN AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 3J Pros: The neighbors are lovely Cons: Apartment infested with cockroaches. Landlord did nothing. Mold everywhere. Windows leak. Landlord did nothing. The bathtub would periodically spurt brown sludge which would shoot out all over the apartment. Landlord did nothing. The water would turn brown. Landlord did nothing. The heat would turn off for ten days at a stretch. In the middle of the polar vortex. Wiring of the lamp in the kitchen would blow a lightbulb every week. It also shocked me when I would touch the light switch. Security is so bad that a patient of one of the shrinks in our building LIT HIS DOORMAT ON FIRE, nearly burning down the building. A few years later, that same person came in and stabbed my neighbor to death. The landlord is an awful human. He will try to steal your security deposit. He never gives them back. Luckily I was told this so just didn’t pay my last month of rent before I fled. Advice to landlord: Do your job.”
