“Pros: Close metro, supper market Cons: Clean and responsible coworkers Advice to landlord: To come and check monthly 2-3 time building how clean is and back yard too. To wash floors monthly and sand few times exsteminator wich is important”
— 1565 EAST 14 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The design of the apartments Cons: Things have gotten worse in the nearly 40 years in this building. The building is dirty and hardly cleaned, leading to roaches and mice. The incinerator room is not cleaned daily and garbage is left by the super in front of tenant’s doors regardless of whose garbage it is or if it was properly disposed of. When there is a repair that needs to be done, even if it’s an emergency, the super can take 2 or more weeks to come but then gets vindictive when you notify the landlord. Alleyway is used as an illegal driveway with cars constantly going in and out and left on idle next to windows with the fumes. Oftentimes, there is no heat for for most of the day when the temperature is below 40. I didn’t give this building 1 star only because there are worse places like the NYCHA properties—but it’s not far behind from getting 1 Star Advice to landlord: I would advise that you search for a new super. This one works multiple jobs and doesn’t show that he cares about the tenants. He is often nasty and there are times when he is on video cursing and arguing with tenants. A tenant called the police on him in September when he kicked garbage into her leg and there is a log of that record. If a job can’t be adequately performed, a new person must be hired. Perhaps, 60 units is too much work for one person.”
