“Pros: The room size is great and no problems with pests. Building is quiet and clean. Cons: Building gas was broken for a few months, small living space”
— 175 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 6 B Pros: Location is great. Close to all subways. Good people - best neighbors I’ve ever had. Cons: It’s been incredibly disheartening dealing with management. We’ve been facing a gas leak in the building that’s now stretched on for weeks. Unfortunately, management has done the bare minimum—only what’s legally required—and has failed to keep us properly informed throughout this process. In response, the tenants came together to form an association, simply asking for rent reductions while essential services like gas, laundry, and kitchen access remain unavailable. This building already lacks many amenities, and yet rents continue to rise without clear justification. It often feels like ownership views this property solely as a financial asset, rather than a home for hardworking people who consistently pay their rent on time. Beyond the gas outage, we’ve dealt with repeated pest issues—including mice—drainage problems in the bathroom, and even a near-ceiling collapse due to heavy rainfall, which led to mold that took weeks to properly address. We aren’t asking for perfection—just decency, transparency, and a livable home. Advice to landlord: Treat your tenants better assholes.”
— 175 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Elevator in building, packages usually not stolen, live in super, laundry in building, good room sizes and kitchen Cons: packages being stolen, occasional roach, super is somewhat unresponsive to issues, slow with maintenance requests Advice to landlord: Listen to tenants! Don’t half ass requests. People want to stay in this building for awhile because it’s charming and has great space but it needs to be taken care of”
