134 EAST 22ND ST ASSOC · avg 4.0 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Pros: Super is on top of everything. Responds quickly and always working. Always helpful. Having the doorman 10-8pm is nice. Apartments that are renovated are great. Facing the backside, it’s very quiet in terms of outside noise. The heat and AC work well. Cons: Doormen often let people up without alerting you. Most couches won’t fit in these apartments. No phone service in this building. There are mice in the building, but the super takes care of it well. No service elevator. Advice to landlord: Build a service elevator!”
— 134 EAST 22 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Building was mostly clean and whenever I had pest complaints they were promptly handled. Additionally was able to keep a cat with no fee (dogs required medical documentation) Cons: Price— absurdly expensive”
— 134 EAST 22 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Good service people, quiet neighborhood Cons: There’s only one elevator and it’s extremely slow”
— 134 EAST 22 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Good building staff and great location Cons: Kitchens are small”
— 134 EAST 22 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great location, nice doormen, building is overall clean, neighbors are relatively quiet although throughout the pandemic a lot of 20-something-year-olds moved in. But otherwise neighbors are good. I enjoyed living there. Apartments are tight but that's just NYC. They are very cozy though, and many have balconies. Cons: Windows are very old and freezing air is blowing right through them in the wintertime. Street noise will also not be blocked much. AC units are extremely loud. All heating, including water is electric so those will be extra expenses, especially during winter (even more so during old windows). There is a pest control guy that comes periodically but I did have mice in the apartment and a roach. Advice to landlord: Install new windows and address the mice issues.”
— 134 EAST 22 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Amazing doormen, even though they were part time. Clean building and laundry on every other floor, super cool triplex layout on apartments, quiet Cons: Super narrow hallway, some silverfish and one roach found over the year, a little pricey”
— 134 EAST 22 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Apartment layouts are nice and different. Super is very responsive. Weekday Doorman is nice and attentive. Cons: Noise. You hear your neighbors constantly. You hear everything off the street. The balcony doors do not fully close. Need replacing. Advice to landlord: Need to replace patio doors and try to fix noise problem with neighbors.”
— 134 EAST 22 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Location, staff, apartments layout Cons: The walls and ceiling in this building are so thin, you can hear every single step your upstairs and next door neighbors take amplified by 100000000. Also very poorly insulated and it’s freezing cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. Advice to landlord: Solve the noise problem, so many people leave this building for this reason. And change the windows like you said you would 3 years ago.”
