“Pros: Amenities, view and Responsive management Cons: Slow repairs and faulty elevators”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: The rooftop pool is cool if you pay for the amenities. Cons: No security. There were two incidents that should have never happened in the first place if there was security. Advice to landlord: Give the people what they want.”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: Neighbors are friendly, nice views Cons: Management/owners don’t take care of the building, roach infestation, leaks, poor elevator service,”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Unit 21B Pros: Amenities, well-connected to transport, connected to a parking garage, friendly neighbors, great for families, good mix of people of all ages Cons: The new management team is actually the worst I have ever dealt with. We went from living in a resort to hoping that the elevators won’t leave everyone stranded again. This building has so much potential, but management is squashing that entirely. Advice to landlord: You’re worried about us paying rent on time, but you don’t care if the elevators work. Where is our rent going if not to making sure the building is safe?”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: Idk steam room is good Cons: Oh boy where to start none of the amenities work you have to get them to open things up I had cold water baths all winter”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: The neighbors that live here Cons: Everything including; pest, cheap appliances, mold in the floors, non working amenities. Advice to landlord: Sell to a management company that will take care of its tenants.”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: The rooftop pool (but you do have to pay extra for it) Cons: Management, crime, complete lack of responsiveness, crime (again), elevators always busted, not responding to maintenance requests. Advice to landlord: You charge too much for all the problems of the building.”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: Nice gym, good walking distance to work. Cons: Overpriced, borderline dangerous area (someone was allegedly stabbed in the lobby), roaches in apartment (no help from management). For the same money, can find a better place in DT BK or in the city.”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Potential Renters Beware! I understand the importance of a healthy living environment, and my hope is that this review saves someone the frustration, stress, and anxiety of moving into PLG, a Mohnian-managed property. Where do I begin? I'm new to Brooklyn and fell in love with the calm of the neighborhood and all the amenities this specific property has to offer. I decided to sign a lease at PLG in mid-December 2023 for what I thought was a luxury experience, but it quickly turned out to be extremely low budget! Aside from the concierges and Danielle in the office, management is not warm or welcoming by any means. I regret not reading reviews prior to making a decision to move here, but the remarks I am finding all over the internet about PLG validate what I am currently experiencing and my personal review. First red flag: I was approved and provided all documents for a quick move, yet not one person welcomed me into the property, nor replied to emails for booking my move. I was forced blindly to move on my requested move-in date. If it weren't for the concierge making things happen for me, I would have been out of luck and the deposit I paid my movers. Second red flag: Although I have been a renter for the last six weeks, I technically have only lived on the property for the last three weeks due to travel. As soon as I returned, I noticed a couple of things that were not in line and went to management requesting reasonable accommodations. Instead of management following the proper protocol and offering me an RA form, I was told I cant make changes to my agreement, but they would look into it. I sent numerous emails and made phone calls for two weeks, and not once received an answer until I had to go back to the office and track someone down. I'm highly disappointed in the lack of professionalism, and the fact that management feels comfortable implying a lack of validity without having their 504 Coordinator look into my request. This is extremely dehumanizing, and their approach violates numerous fair housing and New York state laws, which is unacceptable! Third red flag: The first week of my return, I received a call from the company's accountant regarding my billing account, which for weeks I have requested access to, but again, no one replies or follows through on anything here. Long story short, the $2,600 I paid at the time I submitted my application has not been accounted for despite the fact the money was taken out of my account. The accountant has zero recollection of our conversation upon my return, and now, three weeks later, there is still no answer and no resolution. Completely disorganized! In addition: - I can't wash my hair at home or take a long shower because the hot water only lasts 15-20 minutes, even after maintenance adjusted the water heater to the max settings. - Theres an awful stench that comes from the bathroom/toilet at any given time of the day, and the only way for me to temporarily eliminate the smell is by pouring bleach in the toilet and using a plugin. In addition, black particles/liquid-like substances randomly swim in the bowl all the time. - The smoke alarms must not work because I arrived on my floor to my entire hallway filled with smoke from food that someone overcooked. - The building is not cost or energy efficient, as the in-unit washers and dryers take at a minimum 2 hours each to use. No one deserves to pay rent at any cost, especially not in a luxury building and have this experience. Your home is a place of comfort and ease from the outside world, not a place of stress, headaches, and discomfort. Tenants should be prioritized, not made to feel like management is doing us a favor by living here, and it's extremely unacceptable as a tenant paying nearly $3k a month. I should be able to get these things resolved in a timely manner, but instead its like pulling teeth! Not only has this affected my peace of mind on top of other things, its disrupted the new experience I was looking forward to having in a new city and neighborhood. Thanks a lot! SMH”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Unit 19P Pros: Location, view, gym Cons: Maintenance is the worst of any building I have lived in. I have been trying to get a leak fixed for a year and a half, and now a huge mold patch in my bedroom due to the mold. Building management is currently sticking it's head in the sand pretending not to notice my many emails and visits. The golf simulator, which management proudly shows every prospective renter, has been broken for a year or so. It's not actually broken, the landlord just doesn't want to pay the licencing for the software. The pool (which you'd pay an extra $80/month for) in the basement is absolutely filthy. I have pictures of the same dead cockroach lying on the middle of the floor in front of the locker rooms and sauna on three consecutive visits days apart. I finally cancelled my spa access after the whole spa area was closed for 3 weeks out of the month, and management acted baffled when I let them know I was expecting a prorated refund of the $80 I paid for the month. The elevators are often broken, several times requiring assistance from firefighters to safely get people out. Once all four elevators were broken at the same time for the better part of a day. I live on the 19th floor. The ice maker in my freezer was broken and making a horrible, loud banging noice every hour or so. That took over half a year to fix. This is a poorly built building (it's a couple of years old and has a D energy rating??), which is poorly maintained by unqualified management, and owners who are interested in services and amenities only in so far as they can lie to incoming tenants that they offer them. Advice to landlord: Stop selling yourself as a luxury building if you are unwilling to pay to keep amenities up and running or for basic maintenance. It's shameful.”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: Great amenities (in theory), pet-friendly, events in the building, friendly residents Cons: Some residents were a bit sketch -- constant weed smoking, one couple got into a fist fight in the lobby once. This is not a real luxury building. It's got the veneer of it with the amenities and doorman, etc, but it's really not updated or kept as clean as it should be. Management is a bit hard to get a hold of.”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Unit 20P Pros: The gym was fine. Cons: Zero responsiveness from management, elevators are always broken or there’s a line since there are only 4 for the whole building. Cellar stinks with trash. Multiple violent occurrences and robberies with no update to security or correspondence from management. People’s pets pee and poop wherever and the whole 4th floor reeks of urine including the childrens playground. Cigarette smoking inside though against the rules. The list goes on and on. Just check the 1 star google reviews. Advice to landlord: Sell this building to someone who actually cares about people.”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: The amenities like the pool, gym and in unit laundry Cons: The building is constantly dirty The elevators are constantly broken They charge extra for all amenities The rent is too high Advice to landlord: Be more humane to tenants”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: The apartment layout is good, the gym is pretty decent, 24/7 front desk is nice Cons: They try to get out of doing maintenance if they can and when they do send the guy he always starts by saying there's not a problem or will fake fix the issue and you have to get him to come back. They take the lazy way to fix stuff the literally have hot glued the key fobs to where they should go. Shoddy construction the floors aren't flush to the walls and the caulk in the bathroom has a gap. The street is really loud and there's not much to do around. I'll definitely move when my lease is up might try to break it.”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“The worst building!! If you want to get the worst service for $4,000 a month, you should rent an apartment in this house. You can list a lot of disadvantages at home, but here are some of them: 1. Do you think apartments have beautiful views? But no, because the management is not even able to organize window washing. The last time the windows were washed 1.5 years ago and even the light does not penetrate through the windows. Management simply does not respond to emails asking when you will do your job! 2. There are 27 floors in the house and this wonderful management turns off the elevators for those inspections on Sunday evening and no one can go up or down, no matter how necessary it is and what physical capabilities there are, and again no apologies from the staff! 3. The presence of public spaces does not guarantee that you will be able to use them! They are closed about and without. Whole floors are rented out for private events... that is, we are tenants who pay and they also take money for some events. I do not recommend anyone to rent an apartment in this terrible place. This service is proudly called luxury, but in fact it is absolutely disrespectful to tenants, tenants!!!”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: - good price for "luxury" building - lots of amenities - friendly staff Cons: - safety issues with building security. People have been robbed, slashed, etc - management doesn't respond quickly to issues like roaches. exterminator took MONTHS to come - lots of truck noise from outside street Advice to landlord: Communicate with tenants more often and with transparency. Also have the exterminator come more often”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Unit 21H Pros: Staff are friendly and helpful, plenty of amenities and nearby stores and trains Cons: Tenants are not respectful of amenities, dog run is often unclean and general rudeness from some neighbors”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: Gym was nice Cons: They fixed absolutely nothing at all ever.. golf screen was always broken, dog run smelled like shit, basement floor always smelled shit and had flies all over the place, proper covid sanitization did not occur, parties were ever prevalent during the height of covid, did not implement properly the covid rent laws (illegal), HOT WATER WAS LIMITED BECAUSE OF TANKS IN EACH ROOM WTF.. Jesus Christ just dont”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: Amenities (when they'reavailable), views, concierge Cons: Ownership doesn't care, they're way too frugal and run an overpriced property where they treat tenants like crap, eg the cease and desist letters from ownership's over aggressive lawyers, the lack of accountability. Elevators always have a problem. Poor communication from management. Rental receipts are lacking, dog poo in the kids playground, dogs walking all over the furniture in the shared amenity spaces which are shut down way too early. The list is endless and exhausting. Advice to landlord: Stop treating tenants so poorly. You're understaffed and have poor communication skills. The building will fall apart because of how unnecessarily frugal you are, plus your price gouging has to stop.”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: Great Amenities, rooftop and outdoor spaces are amazing and the front desk staff is really good. Cons: Management is poor. Poor response to service requests. Cleanliness is lacking. Starting to see roaches and water bugs. Apts are way too expensive especially for the neighborhood. Advice to landlord: Find another maintenance team, clean more frequently. & be more supportive/appreciative of the tenants.”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“You can hear the staff from management down to concierge talk down on any residents that is in a “low income” apartment. They treat and talk to you like you should be grateful to be here and only accommodate the one’s that are not. My rent is a lil over 2k I pay for amenities and still treatment is horrible. This is unacceptable.”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: Located close to prospect park, doorman, and amenities. Cons: Neighbors are smoking constantly (non-smoking building), unfinished units, management, and elevators take forever (not enough). Advice to landlord: Finish the inside of the units. Seem like the budget was tailored around the building amenities.”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: Amenities are nice Cons: Not free amenities with the rent so expensive Advice to landlord: Stop lying to renters to fill the building”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: beautiful views, good amenities, clean, maintenance team, nice employees Cons: high rent, lots of people, long waits for elevator sometimes”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Do not move here. A luxury building in Brooklyn sounded nice to me so I moved in 2019, putting up with the lack of heat during winter while construction still took place.. the gym was open then, no use of any other amenities, but after waiting close to two years now finally the pool is open. Great.. what can go wrong. Cigarette butts and empty bottles cover the turf on my once cleared balcony (yes.. in our supposedly non smoking building). We have 4 elevators yet people can be seen lined up all the way to the lobby just to catch one if it’s working! The valet system is anything BUT efficient. Friends came over and had to wait literally over an hour to get their car out since friends of my classy new neighbors stopped by, parked their car and left with the key. Thanks neighbor! We’ve already had two swarms of swat teams shipping in for domestic violence incidents..causing several of the residents to move out. I‘ve recommended a friend who has also jumped ship since she wasn’t feeling the safety of the neighborhood or the building. The only good thing about this place is the staff and the doormen...hence, one star for them. One member of the management team rubbed me the wrong way asking me to prove I had the use of amenities for the duration of my lease.. it is not my duty to do to due diligence for the team! This building really needs to get it together!”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: Concierge is super sweet, only positive about the building Cons: Management is rude and doesn’t care about tenant safety. Elevator is always broken, stops randomly while on it Dog run is never cleaned anymore. It’s covered in poop Washer dryer leaks all they say is supposed to leak Cabinets are warped already, floor is coming up, paint peeling Advice to landlord: Let people move out! This building is not ready for tenants”
— 123 LINDEN BOULEVARD · Brooklyn“Pros: The doormen are nice Cons: Management are awful to tenants Amenities weren’t available for nearly an entire year because the building did not have TCO even though leasing and management confirmed they would be open Unsafe corridors with wires out Elevators constantly breaking Tenants are unable to use amenities including rooftop after 8pm. If you do you receive cease and desist letter Advice to landlord: Get proper management who actually care about the tenants and fulfil what you sold to tenants. Don’t lie to future renters”
