“Pros: Large rooms and apartments Cons: Poor building management, building never repairs things”
— 110 CONVENT AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Newly renovated unit Cons: Renovation was poorly done and corners were cut. As a result, we had little to no water pressure 50% of the time, hot water would randomly go out, uncontrolled roach infestation because they cancelled extermination services, and the building itself would literally fall apart. Our kitchen sink fully fell out of its socket and was not fixed for over two weeks. A huge leak in the roof flooded the staircases and when the super was contacted, he said he already knew about the issue and would fix it next week. Terrible package theft to the point where I couldn’t order things for delivery without knowing I would probably never get it. Our unit is easily the nicest and most newly renovated one in this building and we’re still counting down the days before we can leave. Advice to landlord: Don’t cut corners on renovation and hire supers that are responsive and attentive to building issues. Turn on and monitor the cameras in the lobby to check for package theft. Do not skip a single month of extermination services. Fix the water pressure so that when my neighbor showers I can also be able to shower.”
— 110 CONVENT AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Sturdy walls, spacious apartment, cozy vintage feel Cons: Roaches!!! The exterminator comes once a month if you can even catch him. Common areas a little cleaner since they got a new super. Neighbors are always loud and fighting but that’s just the city. Packages get stolen from the lobby all the time. Advice to landlord: Secure package area in lobby, get more aggressive about the vermin”
— 110 CONVENT AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Proximity to parks and transportation Cons: Building hallways and garbage area are very dirty, landlord is horrible at responding to concerns, neighbors are incredibly loud and packaged are routinely stolen. Advice to landlord: Fix electricity issues, make sure apartments are up to code, install security cameras, and actually clean the building.”
