“Unit 3A Pros: big unit, decent sun Cons: -MICE - owner did nothing for weeks. took forever to get exterminator in who only sprayed and we still had mice. someone who worked for the super eventually fixed it by sealing every sliver of the unit. caused by downstairs neighbor/unsealed walls. there was a giant hole behind the fridge. -neighbors are loud. walls are extremely thin you hear everything from the apartments next door/above, and everything in the stairwell -heat is not included, the bill is insanely high -laundry is terrible only 1 washer & dryer for the whole building -walk up, dirty common areas, uneven staircase -location is loud, especially in summer fireworks right out the window all night -owner took a month to give the security deposit back (should be max 14 days) Advice to landlord: hire an exterminator”
— 105 WEST 105 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: It’s a block away from Riverside park and a short walk from Central Park. The area has restaurants and shops (if they survive COVID). Cons: The building is a disaster. The basement has been under construction for years (and I don’t mean minor construction! It’s a complete disaster down there!). Building is dirty, almost never cleaned and the super is always in a terrible mood. You’ll never get him to do anything. The walls are thin so you better not have loud neighbors (ours throw parties all the time). And, be ready to smell pot in the elevator and in the hallways every day. Advice to landlord: Care about your property and about the renters! Ask your super to care!”
