“Unit 16J Pros: Front desk staff are great, apartments are spacious and (at least in top 3/4 of floors) quite bright. Cons: Expensive for what you get considering several amenities require additional membership fee”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: - Doormen were excellent - Amenities were great and fairly priced (Gym was $35/month) - Apartment was always well taken care of and all public spaces were very clean and tidy - Building Maintenance was easy to contact and would typically address requests within 48 hours (depending on the ask) Cons: - Rent felt a little high for the area, definitely prices a good portion of people out”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Amazing location and wonderful staff and rooftop with incredible views Cons: Lots of water shutoffs, pest problems, cheap appliances, and predatory rent increases by management”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great doorman staff Cons: frequent elevator issues Advice to landlord: bn/a”
“Pros: - staff are kind and responsive - virtually zero bad issues related to living in building itself Cons: - Price - Area”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The doormen at the Atlas are genuinely so kind and will constantly go above and beyond for you. Most of the people in the building are in their 20-30s and there are a lot of dogs and not very many kids. We became best friends with our neighbors; everyone is truly so friendly! It's a very central location and the building is very well maintained. Most of our maintenance requests have been met within 24hrs. Cons: It's a very touristy area (but close to Bryant park which is nice) and the building amenities are super outdated and not worth it. They close the roof during the winter. They have been doing a lot of water maintenance lately so the water has been shut off/weirdly too hot sometimes, but they do give us a notice. We had a roach in the kitchen once, and pest control came by the next day and did a treatment and an inspection and we didn't have any issues after that. The leasing office is a pain to get a hold of and work with. Advice to landlord: Update the amenities and add a pool table.”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: - Friendly Doormen, Porter, and Handyman - on first-name basis with them - Very dog-friendly - Personally for me I loved the location - Close to Bryant Park - On a fairly quiet street (compared to nearby) Cons: - Had a few cockroach infestations from the dishwasher, had to call in handyman a few times - Poor ventilation - next door neighbor smoked a lot (which is prohibited), could smell from the bathroom - Laundry room machines always broken - sometimes hard to find an open or available washer/dryer”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Building staff, doormen Common areas are kept clean Maintenance issues are addressed promptly by the staff Cons: Location - near a very busy, touristy area”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The building is clean and the staff are professional and friendly. Maintenance requests are handled promptly. Cons: Building amenities are dated not worth paying the monthly fee to use. Floors / kitchen cabinets aren’t the best quality and are showing their age. There’s a decent amount of street noise from 6th Ave. But it’s midtown so it comes with the territory. Advice to landlord: Provide better lease renewal options that incentivize good tenants to stay. And leave the roof unlocked during the winter. It’s nice to get some fresh air without having to step onto the streets of Midtown.”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: central location reasonable price, especially for manhattan nice doorman (packages never got lost) Cons: poor noise cancellation - can hear outside noises very well loud air conditioner/heater”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: We've been very happy living here. If you're on a lower floor, watch out for some of the noise from 6th ave traffic. Otherwise, no complaints! Cons: 6th ave traffic noises”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Centrally located, friendly staff, well managed building Cons: Water pressure can be better”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 34D Pros: The building's day to day management is fantastic. I cannot say enough about friendly, accountable, and helpful the doormen are. The porters and maintenance staff keep the building clean and in great shape. The gym is good enough. The building also has great events through the Gotham Real Estate parent company. Prices are reasonable although going up. Cons: Renewing the lease requires you to interface with the leasing company, and they are unfortunately the weak link here. I imagine they try their best but I've had my fair share of communication issues with them. Advice to landlord: I would really advise that you treat current tenants, especially long standing tenants with excellent track records, really well. Why not keep your good tenants, give them options on the lease renewal and communicate clearly.”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Convenient, close to the subway, nightlife Cons: Noise, short term leases, constantly broken washing machines”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great doormen, responsive management team, insane roof views Cons: Sometimes there can be a wait for the elevator”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Convenient location to subways. Excellent staff (doormen, porters, etc, all great). Good gym classes (pre-covid). Rooftop space is spectacular. Never saw a single pest. Cons: There's not much I didn't like. I only moved out because the neighborhood was too hectic and generally unpleasant. Advice to landlord: Nothing - they do a good job.”
— 66 WEST 38 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Gym & laundry in building Cons: Floors were getting old Advice to landlord: Update software like fridge or AC unit”
