The location and affordable rent are what attracted me. Well...you get what you pay for. There has been scaffolding up since I moved in and absolutely no work being done. The elevator is constantly broken and on the rare occasions that it is working it is not level with the floor and incredibly dangerous. Periodic roach and mice infestation. Theft of packages left in the lobby (not sure if it is porch pirates or an inside job). Either way, incredibly poor security. If something breaks in your apartment you can not report it with the satisfaction that it will be fixed in a timely manner. You must constantly follow up with the superintendent or it will not get done. Speaking of the superintendent, whose family occupies three apartments, has made the building into a personal abode where the tenants feel like unwelcomed guests. There is no escaping the superintendent's family - they are everywhere - all the time - just hanging out in the building. Oh, hilarious! The power just went out in the building while I am typing this post. This happens occasionally but usually while I am at work. I can tell because I have to reset the clock on the microwave. Before considering this oasis for your home, perch yourself outside the building and tell tenants that you are contemplating signing a lease and you are sure to hear some woeful stories.
