Pros: Dog-friendly, gorgeous lounges and roof, super friendly staff. Cons: Nothing. It’s an amazing building. Advice to landlord: Keep doing what you do.

Pros: The combination of location, high rise building, luxuriousness, and price is compelling. Cons: The valet manages the packages and they are only open until 7 PM weekdays 4 PM Saturdays closed Sundays. As a resident you wind up not accessing your packages for days on end as a practical matter. There a long waits for the elevator, especially during rush hour. Advice to landlord: Replace the loud air conditioners.

Pros: Love the atmosphere of the building and all of the public spaces. Have hosted numerous get-together with friends and appreciate the in-house gym as well. Cons: The hot water often stops working, and the elevators can get so backed up (there’s 4 of them in a 40FL building, sometimes 2 will be out at the same time). Also: they’re a stickler for rules and they will find out if you have more people over than you should (in the public spaces). Not to mention that the package valet has the worst times so if you work a normal 9-5 you’ll never be able to get your package!

Pros: I liked the renovation that Bozzuto did to the lobby, the elevator upgrades, and cellar common areas, and of course the rooftop. I had a one bedroom and it was adequate size for me, although the bathroom felt small. Cons: I did not like that the courtyard behind the building remained closed for the entire time I lived at the building. I used to have lunch in that courtyard when I worked nearby. I did not appreciate the insane cost of laundry in the cellar laundry facility. Every week it was about $30/week to wash my clothes—the dryers sucked!! My rent was absurdly high ($4300 for a one bedroom). I left NYC for good once covid hit. The building mgmt allowed me to break the lease, they wanted me to pay an extra month so they could find a new tenant—however someone else in my building took over my unit immediately, yet the building still wanted me to pay for the supposed vacant month. I discovered the new tenant was coming in and confronted mgmt and they backed off the vacant charge. That’s a lot of money I would’ve paid for nothing. Instead I used that money to get the fuck out of NYC. I’m never coming back to this hellhole. Advice to landlord: Good luck finding tenants to pay a ton of rent when nobody wants to be in NYC anymore. Look around on 6th Avenue, most of the shops and businesses are long gone. There is absolutely no point to be in New York anymore.

Pros: Near Heart of New York! Cons: Way too many eviction threats from ownership. From virtual reality land 😴😂 Management 100% needs to seriously re-evaluate social and party rules for a whole new generation of tenants! Advice to landlord: Change your management team or sell the place.

I lived at The Capitol for 3 years and it was the most incredible community to be apart of. From the day we signed our lease to the day we moved out the management was always incredibly kind, reasonable, and professional for any purpose. The apartment layouts are incredible, the building amenities are second to none between the roof, gym, cellar, and dog run, and every single person on staff, from the doormen to the porters to the package valet are all so incredibly kind. If you are looking in this area there is no other building that should be considered

I love the capitol! It is my favorite place to come home to! The staff is incredible and amenities are superb. Anytime there are any issues the staff are quick to solve and it is never a hassle. I love the community living space that allows me to entertain friends anytime and the roof during the summer! I highly recommend my building to anyone that is looking for a high rise in Chelsea.

There's a reason why we have lived here for 10 years. Not only has the building looked better than ever after a stunning renovation, but the staff is also the nicest group of people you'll ever meet. They clearly invest a lot in their team, as almost all of the doormen and porters have been here for over a decade. Beyond that, the Management team is awesome---and Kelly, Erin, and Maura ensure that your experience at the Capitol is always satisfying.

I've seen the building go through a lot of renovation that as it's becoming available is fantastic. It was a bit of a rough go for a bit with elevator issues and the construction but those issues have subsided and the new lobby and common area/cellar are awesome. The roof here is one of the best in the city and excited to utilize it again once the weather turns. The staff is amazing and super helpful in all the areas that make an impact- doormen/maintenance/management office. Some of the existing apartments might be in need of a refresh but all are still modern and clean and have good amount of space and amenities. Great location.
