It’s like living in a frat house. Loud music until 4 am makes it IMPOSSIBLE to sleep. Property management does nothing about it despite months of evidence. It was so bad we ended up in hotels many nights.

I lived in the Archive for 4 years and had always been a good tenant paying rent on time and respecting the staff and neighbors. Half way through my lease we had an unexpected leak and water came rushing from the ceiling destroying my bed, furniture and clothing. The staff attempted to fix the leak by patching the walls but never finding the root of the issue or properly drying the walls before patching them back up. We had gone out of town the week later and staff assured they would check on the apartment to make sure the leak had not come back. We we arrived back we had realized the leak had come back and again destroyed more furniture. At this point we had undergone major repairs with our walls falling down. We had dust everywhere and were unable to sleep in the apartment. This had gone on for a month and we finally had an inspector come out to clarify all of the water damage inside of the walls which Archive staff was not willing to properly fix. This left us to live in a very dangerous living situation. Kathleen Scott had agreed to move us into a new apartment and agreed to concessions for our month without an apartment. Once she moved us she pulled all concessions and harassed us and lied about everything that was promised. She is an evil human and I feel bad for the owners of this building since she is scaring away good standing tenants. I have never been as mistreated and harassed by building staff until I moved into the archive and highly highly suggest against living in this property. I'm shocked a large management company like Rockrose would act in such a unlawful way. I have lived in NY for several years and can guarantee there are better options in the west village and manhattan.

My wife and I moved out of the Archives recently after living in the building for 6 years. Although the neighborhood is nice living in this building is like living in a dog park. Almost every tenant has a dog -- you will be sharing elevators with dogs licking you, you will have neighbors with constantly barking dogs, and you will walk up and down hallways that smell of dog urine. Walk outside in the summertime and the sidewalk will be filled with dog urine. Although the leases state that dogs must not be a nuisance to other tenants, building management could literally care less. The current super, Philip could not be more unhelpful. Emails to him go unanswered and there is a general attitude that although the building is extremely expensive, part of what is built into the cost is expecting to deal with loud barking dogs, peeing in the hallways, with no recourse. Stay away!!!

I adore this building. The doormen are wonderful, the maintenance crew typically respond to requests within half an hour and the neighborhood can't be beat. It's quiet and laid back but so close to amazing restaurants and parks. Cabs almost always queue outside in the mornings so its never a problem to grab one. It's also super close to the path and a cross town bus which has turned out to be pretty convenient for getting around. The building has a drycleaner, gym and grocery store which are all really convenient (even if the grocery store sort of sucks...still nice to have something so close by) I It is super dog friendly, so it can tend to smell of dog pee on hot days, but the staff hoses down the sidewalk once or twice a day which helps to limit the smell.

We have lived in the building for more than 3 years and would not want to live anywhere else. The maintenance staff is great (problems always attended to same day, usually within an hour or two of your request), the doormen are friendly and caring, and the apartments are big and open. Wonderful location in the more peaceful part of the West Village, but still a reasonable walk to the subway. The building is mostly 30's-ish professionals and young families, although lately I have noticed a few younger tenants that seem a little less mature -- hopefully that's not a trend. We plan to stay for as long as we can afford it.

Over priced. Crap Management company. The leasing woman is nasty. Lived here for two years. Don't do it. Too many other great places out there with great management.

This building is fancy and expensive, but if you can afford it why not!?! The apartments are huge, doormen are friendly and the rooftop deck is amazing. What's even better than the view from the roof are the beautiful women I see in the elevator every day. What's even better than that is I found this apartment through a website called skipbrokers.com and didn't have to pay a broker. The only downside to this building is that it seems like everyone has a dog. I love dogs too, but many of them piss all over the walls when you walk outside (this could also be from dogs around the neighborhood). I learned the hard way putting my hand on the wall while I tied my shoe and was waiting for a cab. Besides the dog piss...I have no complaints.

The building is in a great location. Streets are not too busy, very close to the Hudson, restaurants, shops, conveinent to public transportation. Great to have a grocery store, gym and dry cleaner right in the building. There is also a small theatre in the basement that is not well known for very small plays.

In general, the staff is friendly and helpful. Some doormen are better than others. The rents are high and being a business person, I understand the need to get top dollar, but the way that Rockrose handles the renewal process is completely impolite to say the least. After paying huge rents, you get a very nasty, almost vicious impersonal letter from the renewal coordinator based in the Rockrose office on Park Avenue. If you do this by such and such a date we will start showing your apartment for re-rent. Must have been written by the Gestapo or some mean lawyer. Come on people, use a little tack.

This beautiful gilded lady has unfortunately faded. The greed and avarice of the landlord and the incompetence of the resident management has damaged this once glistening gemstone. The prices are now outrageous and the service is sub-standard.
