Unit 2A Pros: - Decent looking apartment unit relatively spacious -Nice, modern painted exposed brick - Lots of food/cafes in the area - Cool laundry mat half a block away Cons: Many cons I fear: - One room was dramatically disproportionate to the other. It was giving shoe closet. - Radiator was turned off for several days in the middle of January. I had to request multiple times for it to be turned on - Repeatedly asked for repairs to made to broken oven, loose kitchen faucet (faulty at move-in), backed up drain (faulty at move-in) - some windows sealed shut - Pretty dirty at move-in - owner is very sketch Advice to landlord: shut it down.

Pros: garbage is easily managed and the heat works after we had an outside maintenance come fix it since the building maintenance was not responsive. water pressure is ok but water is so hot it burns you most of the time and seems to be building recurring issue even at move out. Cons: things stolen out of mailroom constantly due to no security, maintenance dumps things in mailroom like a fridge that was there for months and is still there at time of move out, constant pest issues including roaches and some neighbors say there are mice, front door constantly breaks, and management is non responsive with not even an email able to contact. maintenance also constantly does not answer you for issues or fixes. landlord will steal your deposits and even auto pay after you move out. late fees are charged too early for nyc law.

Pros: Nothing at all Cons: No regular heat, shower jumps between hot and cold every second, landlord and superintendent are unresponsive and do not manage the building well, packages are always stolen, price is too expensive, apartments are in poor condition (especially the bathrooms), very sketchy agent Limor and landlord Iger. Do not come here. Advice to landlord: Retire

Pros: A good location Cons: Elevator was always broken, unit was in disrepair, and heat/hot water was unreliable. Property owner terminated the lease after 1 year without cause.

Pros: The Super is helpful and frequently on site Cons: Owners of 611 realty are some of the worst people I’ve dealt with. “Elevator on site” is almost ALWAYS out of order. Building needs some serious upgrades for what they are charging

Pros: The location is great. Cons: Igor (building owner) and Limor (broker) do not handle any part of their jobs with decency and respect for tenants. If you choose to live here, you will encounter the same issues that everyone in the building faced. You will have to threaten to take them to small claims court to get your security deposit back, you will have to email, call or text them repeatedly to have the basic necessities such as water or heat provided to you, you will be stuck in the elevator and will have to call the fire department to get out, and you will be threatened and dismissed when you voice your issues. I tried to look past the red flags that I encountered during the move-in and like many people assumed that all New York City apartments have their issues. However, it really is a very different experience to come home every day and not know if your apartment will be habitable or if your repairs will be handled, all while knowing that you will be ignored by the only people that can address the issues. The East Village is a wonderful neighborhood but there are other apartments and better landlords, keep looking. Advice to landlord: Find new income streams and leave renting out apartments to people with the time and decency to do so.

Pros: When the elevator works it’s great. Unbeatable location!! Cons: Super doesn’t respond to texts only calls and in person requests. The maintenance portal never gets reviewed or addressed. Advice to landlord: Listen to your tenants, we just want what we paid for.

Unit 5D Pros: This building has a semi-working elevator and is generally pretty quiet and cleanish. Perfect place to get by for a few months while paying reasonable rent and being in a great location especially if you have a dog. Cons: Elevator traps you or doesn’t work at all about 25% of the time. Shower water shifts instantly and spontaneously from boiling to freezing to the point where it’s probably a safety hazard. June Homes sucks at providing keys for tenants. Advice to landlord: What’s going on with the elevator and hot water? A little sign that explains the situation would be helpful even if a fix isn’t possible. The issues really catch you off guard sometimes.
