The building management who took over this building in 2025 (REM Residential) could be the worst management company I have ever experienced in my 10 years living in various locations in Manhattan. They are unreachable, unresponsive and truly actively avoid being helpful. Takes 4-5 emails and 4-5 phone calls to get someone to answer you. I loved my apartment once I was inside of it, but there has been construction going on, on a daily basis for the past year since this management company took over. On weekends, without permits, no regard for residents, etc. The elevators in the building are constantly broken, I would say 1-2 times a month one or both stop working. The only saving graces of this building are the amazing doormen and the cutest nicest super, who do everything in their power to help, but they can only do so much without management. Wish I had read reviews before I moved in. Hopefully this saves someone the time of looking to live here.

I like living here because it’s a reasonable and very comfortable apartment in a city living life ! The management team is responsive, and the community has a friendly, welcoming vibe. My apartment is quiet, spacious, and well-maintained. It's a peaceful place to call home, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for quality living.

The neighborhood is great. The management for this community is not as active or responsive. As discussed in questionnaires before it would be great if the management found ways to have events at neighborhood locations or to get discounts at neighborhood locations

Living in this apartment has been an absolute nightmare. Mice and roaches are everywhere, from the basement all the way up to my unit. Just now, I spotted two baby mice scurrying across my living room. Last week alone, I caught a total of eight mice using glue traps.

The super is a great guy and always ready to help or fix but for some reason my latest maintenance request has gone ignored. I doubt it was intentionally ignored however I have lost confidence in the portal system and will have to make requests in person going forward.

Doormen and super are excellent - they get to know you well as tenants. Great neighborhood and generally quiet community with excellent access to the Q and F lines. The application process for leasing is frustrating.

I am deeply disappointed and disgusted with my experience living at Renoir House. What should have been a comfortable home has turned into a nightmare due to a severe mice infestation that the building management has failed to address adequately. From the moment we discovered the mice, we reached out to the building manager and superintendent for assistance. Unfortunately, their response has been shockingly negligent. Despite our repeated pleas for help, they provided us with a mere 10 sticky traps and nothing else. This paltry attempt at pest control is completely ineffective and shows a blatant disregard for the health and safety of the tenants. The infestation has forced us to make significant sacrifices. We have had to get rid of our couch, bed, and over half of our clothes due to contamination by the mice. This is not only an inconvenience but also a major financial burden. Moreover, living in constant fear of encountering mice in our own home is distressing and unacceptable. We reported the situation to 311 in NYC, hoping for some intervention, but the building management continues to do nothing. Their inaction is appalling and highlights a complete lack of responsibility towards their tenants’ well-being. If you are considering renting at Renoir House, I strongly urge you to think twice. The management’s negligence in addressing such a serious issue is inexcusable. Do not put yourself through the misery and health risks we have endured. Look elsewhere for a place to call home, where your safety and comfort are actually prioritized.

There are very nice people here and it is clean. It is in a nice area and I enjoy being part of it. Especially now that the weather is warm I’m excited to use the roof and go on walks in this area. Overall satisfied.

The experience continues to be great from the perspective of the on site staff they are always friendly and willing to assist in anything they can. Really appreciate all the doormen and porters and think they are a great team

After 30 some years here I have seen the Renoir House go from a beautifully run family owned building to an overpriced building run by a management company who couldn’t care less about who they rent to as long as they pay! The staff was cut back so maintenance and cleanliness is lacking. There is no freight elevator so there is only one of two elevators working at any given time. The infrastructure was not well maintained so there are constant leaks and pipes bursting. And there are "short term rentals" with all kinds of people moving in and out on a monthly basis!
