This building is unsafe. Security is terrible, and has been caught working in conjunction with neighborhood criminals. The security won't help you, and possibly will make your problems worse.. avoid this building if you value your personal safety.

The doormen, handy men, and maintenance guys are on top of everything. They care about their jobs. this Pite is old and has a lot of charm with the preserved mail shoot and facade. The units are Sompact and over priced. The dryers are always broken and I’ve seen mice in the basement and multiple cockroaches in my Apace, the basement, and hallways. Lower the prices and get an exterminator

I lived at the Carteret for two years and had a pleasant experience. Yes, It's expensive to non-NYers but I lived in a prime location with doormen and maintenance men who responded to all my issues, plus it was pet-friendly! I didn't mind paying a higher price for a doorman, package holding, elevators, laundry in-building, a location on the corner of a major street with the 1 downtown station two doors down, and an intercom system.

-Close to 1, A/C/E, Chelsea nightlife, Flatiron -1 block from Whole Foods and 2 blocks from Trader Joe’s -several cafes within a block -24/7 doorman building -roof with great view -elevator -studio size is small but just enough space to have everything I need -Internal marketplace for residents to communicate -Even though It's a prewar building with cinder block walls, I can hear more from my neighbors than I would like -The common areas could use a little more maintenance -The gym gets basic

Building was kept spotless and most amenities were easy to use. Building super is nice and they were helpful during move out and move in. Fantastic location in Chelsea close to everything Things were frequently shut down or not available- not just bc of pandemic- elevators were iffy and water was frequently turned off due to pipe issues. Outside building facade was always being worked on and repaired so always construction, even in interior facing apartments. Ubers could never find the address, but that’s minor. Some front desk staff was friendly but some of the neighbors weren’t at all friendly. Overall decent building

chill doorman building, There's a building portal to be able to sell/buy furniture and communicate with tenants, maintenance is super quick and responsive, all studios and 1 bedrooms so although You've got 17 floors not too busy, pet friendly, package system is efficient via email Roof has been closed for over a year without any updates as to when it’s re-opening, make sure to choose an Aad That's not facing the inside as There's no natural light

location-wise, it's great No hot water, was told to run my water for 20 Mins and it’s bc the girl upstairs doesn’t run her water enough. Massive roaches, mold on walls( told the walls can’t mold bc they took a class and know) rooftop chairs all broken, glass bottles and garbage everywhere. Rent went up $700 and they didn’t even do anything new to the Broperty. Tries to evict you to get higher rent . Put some money into your buildings .
