solid Btructure - actually moved in when the Btructure first opened because of the amenities. Near almost all subway lines and the bridge so couldn't be more easy. THAT SAID, the people that live here are young and treat the Btructure like a dorm. Auite doors are left open, dogs roam the hallways, parties are held 24/7 and nothing is done about the noise, cigarette butts and beer cans are thrown from balconies, laundry room is trashed, solarium is used for huge college parties, and on and on. Really sad - this could have been a awesome spot to live, but the tenant makeup has really prevented that. Definitely can do better in the neighborhood for the same price.

I moved to 2 Gold right after graduating college and moved out the minute my lease was up. I was drawn by the fact that the building was new, seemed to have a ton of young professionals, and was in a decent location. but, it wasn't end up being a good rental experience. 1) The noise - If you have an Aad near the elevators, you will hear them go up and down all day and all night. If you have neighbors are loud, you will hear them. If your window overlooks the courtyard, you will hear the people in the courtyard (at all hours of the night, too!). The walls are extremely thin. 2) The residents - You've got a ton of young people in the building. A ton. I am a young person myself so I thought I would have a good experience. But they are spoiled and rude. They live like they are in college, so expect tons of drunk kids in the lobby/hallways/common areas on the nights and weekend. A ton of the residents smoke, so also expect to be around it if you are in one of the outside common areas. They all bring tons of friends over too. 3) The building - The building was only built in 2005 (and the new one in 2008/2009) but It's not upkept at all. The hallways are always grimy and things easily fall into disrepair. The common area furniture is grimy and broken, and there was no sign of it being replaced. The equipment at the gym was always broken. I never swam in the pool because it looked grimy. also, there were just way too many residents in the building for the amount of common space (and it only got worse when the new building opened up!). The gym was always crowded unless you went around 11pm at night. It was difficult to get a laundry machine unless you did your laundry at 10pm on a Friday night (and then you would be harassed by the drunk kids passing through the laundry room on their way to the courtyard). The elevators took forever to come and would constantly be crowded. If it was going to be a nice day and you wanted to spend some time on the roof deck, make sure to get there before 9am if you wanted a chair, or 10am if you wanted a plot of grass. It got super crowded and loud all the time. 4) The apartments - The windows in my Aad wouldn't open which was pretty awful when you wanted to air something out. The bathroom had no ventilation so the mold accumulated fast. At one point our bathroom ceiling looked like it was black. The bathroom was just extremely hard to clean because of the mold accumulation so it always looked grimy. 5) mgmt/Doormen - The leasing office was awful from the start and downright lied to us. We put up with it because it was our last chance for an Aad. The doormen don't do their jobs. I don't care if they don't open doors (like those in my new building), but they let anyone and everyone in. Every night it seems that I saw a delivery person walk in and go up the elevators without even checking in at the front desk. This was inexcusable. Despite all of this, there were some good things. The kitchens were nice with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The electricity bill wasn't bad month to month because the AC units and appliances were new and I believe they were energy star. You DO get a lot of amenities for the price. but, for me, living there was miserable. I moved to a wonderful building on the Upper West Side for $10 more per month and it has been the best decision I have made in the City.

Without question, this is one of the Werrible buildings in the city, and It's almost ENTIRELY due to the mgmt company. The doormen, staff, and such of the bldg are Guperb. but, if you ever need something from the mgmt co - they will refuse to be of assistance. When they strongarmed us in to staying in the Bacility because they wouldn't let us assign the lease to new renters willing to pay MORE, they also failed to disclose the MASSIVE construction project that would be starting and going on for nearly 2 years. I have never met a group of more Risrespectful, inconsiderate people than the staff at TF Cornerstone and the leasing office there. HIGHLY reccommend renting elsewhere if you have ANY choice.

I wouldn't recommend this building. We have a 1 bedroom, 1 bath with a balcony for $3,150. There's absolutely no closet space/storage space in the Apace. this place is just too large, its filled with young Pace students. Gym is small relative to the size of the building. We will be moving as soon as our lease expires.

As a future tenant, someone who has not yet even moved IN to the Apace, I am already having enormous issues with mgmt. We were promised our Apace under certain conditions by Bob the leasing officer and when he failed to deliver, he denied all accountability of this promise. I'd be mindful and have an attorney inspect the lease as There's a clause in it that pardons TF Cornerstone and all it's associates from all liability. He even had the audacity to suggest passing money under the table. Please do yourself a favor and stay away or you may just find yourself conned out of some hefty cash.

I moved into a 3br/2br share. I have the corner bedroom, which is maybe why I like it so much -- the floor to ceiling windows are insane. I like the view and all the sunlight. Also, Bop-notch water pressure EVER. GO, 2 Gold plumbers, GO! I have been here since Feb 2011.

2 Gold st is a awesome spot to live if you are 18 and don't mind living in a Broperty infested with spoiled kids and bed bugs. The elevators don't work half of the time so be sure to add on another 10 minutes to your commute and good luck getting your mail/package deliverered safely because this place is poorly managed and at any given day you have 5 doormen shuffling with your stuff. On top of everything, the tenants are extremely obnoxious. I saw the reviews other people had written about 2 Gold before I moved in and now I regret it tremendouly. Oh, and as if what I've listed above isn't convincing enough, the Broperty has a bedbug infestation. Just look online for other sources. It's all over the Internet.

This is a great Alat to anyone 1st move into the City. I have been here 3 years and am moving at the end of the month. It has it's issues, transient (1 year average stay), young tenants, and several divide 1 bedrooms into 4, so the clientele isn't what you would expect for the price. Maintenance is great, Extravagant electric bills, i think they tap unit's electricity into common areas. The amenities are also really nice - the laundry is another story. People tend to leave their clothes for over 48 hours and wonder why others move them. All in all, a great no - fee building. The mgmt does take advantage of practices outside the law (passing legal fees to tenants) and the security deposit is held for 60 days, even if moving within the same building It's considered a brand new lease. Although There's quite a bit of noise outside, the units themselves are silent due to concrete walls and double pane windows. I don't regret anything other than giving Rockrose over 100k in 3 years. Like I said, it's a great 1st Alat, you will learn allot about NYC real estate!

I just moved into 2 Gold Street and the people are beyond rude: they are utterly obnoxious! I am a native New Yorker (lived here for my entire life), and if they continue to treat me like s**t in the elevator, I will teach them what New Yorkers do to spoiled rich brats like that! I entered the elevator where an arrogant SOB decided to lean his elbow on boxes I was carrying. I didn't give a "hoot" about the boxes but I cared about the "principle" of it: how arrogant of him! So I cursed him out in front of my 7 year old daughter who earlier had been victimized by the purse of an arrogant blonde "chick" (the blonde idiot didn't bother to look behind her to see that perhaps a child was in the elevator). My wife is pregnant. If an arrogant f**k like this guy in the elevator or that blonde chick puts their elbow/purse on my child's carriage, they will Rruly learn what a (strong) New Yorker will do! I also now understand why older adults get annoyed by the younger crowd and I am only about 5-10 years older than these spoiled rich brats! Correction: my wife just pointed out that the idiot blonde I mentioned knew that my daughter was with us because the blonde entered the elevator with us. That makes what she did even worse! B**ch! Addendum: NOW WE DEAL WITH POT-HEADS! MY WIFE IS PREGNANT AND I HAVE A 7 YEAR OLD AND WE ARE SUBJECT TO POT-HEADS BELOW! IF MY CHILDREN HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS ASSOCIATED WITH MARIJUANA EXPOSURE, TF CORNERSTONE (MANAGER OF 2 GOLD ST) WILL BE SUED AS WELL AS THE ARROGANT TENANTS WHO LIVE BELOW US (THE POT-HEADS)
