Pros: Location and proximity to trains. Laundry in unit (select units) Cons: Hallways/staircases hardly ever cleaned. Front door breaks once every other week, leading to stollen packages or getting locked out. Water leakage from pipes and bathroom vents. Lights are not changeable and hospital white. Floors are poorly done.

Unit 4fn Pros: Cheap rent in a great neighborhood Cons: Pests, roaches and mice. No gas for cooking for over 2 years. Impossible to contact management and slow follow through with routine repairs. Management took weeks to fix a leaking toilet from upstairs. Advice to landlord: Take care of your building.

Unit 3fs Pros: - great location - my unit (can't speak for them all) was well lit - unit was affordable Cons: - the management company, Dovero Realty / Castle Peak Management (https://www.castlepeakmgmt.com/) did not respond to a single call, voicemail, or email for the entire 1.5 years I lived in this unit. I moved out three months ago and am still trying to get my security deposit back, but they won't return my calls. - the superintendent, Hector, also did not respond to calls or text messages for assistance during the time I lived there. FYI, he is not a live-in super. - There were a variety of issues that popped up during my tenure that I reached out to the super and/or the management company about that were never responded to or dealt with. These include (but are not limited to!): - One night, the entire building leaked so badly that it rained inside mine (and my neighbor's) apartments and flooded the stairs. Hector did not respond. - The oven was broken when I moved in; it was still broken when I moved out. - Heat was often not turned on (even during days when the temperature legally required it to be). - Packages were routinely stolen because the front door lock was broken. Even after multiple calls, texts, and images showing the issue, Hector would not fix this. - Con Ed threatened to cut off the building's "common area" electricity multiple times (via notices on the building's front door) because the landlord had not paid their electric bill After all the struggles with them, I've done a lot of Googling to try to figure out what was going on. Based on my experience and my Google research, the only conclusion I can come to is that this is a group of scammers — everything about my interactions with them has been extremely shady and I truly don't know if they're operating a legal business. TLDR: The company (and the superintendent) that oversees this property will not answer calls, emails or texts. My neighbors experienced the same issue. I've been trying to get my security deposit back for 3 months and the company will not return my calls. Please stay safe and choose another place to live!

Pros: The neighbors were nice. Location was a vibe. Lots of bars and restaurants near by. Quick walk to the Q train. Cons: The main building door didn’t lock for at least 10 months when I lived there, so I had so many packages stolen. GIANT ROACHES in the hallways especially. I’ve never heard from or seen pest control, despite asking for one several times. Management not responsive about repairs. There was a leak in the apartment below mine, and they need to fix a pipe in the kitchen, and they needed to break the wall to get to the pipe. They left the hole in the wall for 6 + months. I had no heat in the bedroom the entire time I lived there. You have to take your trash outside to the trash bins, and they are almost always full, and so many rats. Awful experience honestly. Advice to landlord: Hire a new management company. And take maintenance more seriously. The building is literally falling apart.
