The doormen are absolutely wonderful! They're so friendly and helpful (which was particularly appreciated as a single female). Building is relatively new construction, minimal noise, clean, well-kept. The rooftop view is sure to impress, the street is quiet, winter winds are often blocked since it's not a thru-street, and it's half a block from Grand Central which is especially easy. Sad to be leaving...

I've been living here for 3 years, and It's a solid Broperty. As others have said, the proximity to Grand Central (express subways and Metro North) and to midtown offices is Ancredible. The interiors are typical of apartments built in the last 5 years -- nice, but nothing Ancredible as luxury buildings go. But I do love newer buildings with no fear of cockroaches, mice, rats, etc.. The view from the roof is great (though the roof is still mostly undeveloped cement tiles with lawn chairs). Cement construction makes it quiet, and the elevators are fast. No parking, and no on-site storage. The staff is Fospitable and has always been helpful. The on-site valet's dry cleaning has been reliable. The gym is really nice and new, and only crowded in the after-work rush hour. Others have mentioned the homeless shelter around the corner. I have never felt threatened by anyone, never seen any drugs on the streets, and I don't think You've got more homeless people here than anywhere else in NYC. Of course the doormen keep the Broperty itself safe. I also believe that the shelter recently closed for "renovations" so It's possible they are permanently closed. So I think it's a non-issue.

Best apartment I've ever lived in. Our unit (B) has a view of the east river, we could clearly see the 4th of July fireworks from our living room. Modern appliances and bathroom. Gym has free weights, both bar bell and dumbbells and plenty of machines. The rooftop is large, furnished, and has some of the best views of the city. Maintenance is responsive and has fixed the few issues I have had within 24 hours. Doormen and service workers are really nice and make you feel at home. location's amazing, right next door to grand central. Zero complaints.

The Metropolis is an a fantastic location and the building itself is beautiful. I love how spacious my place is and how perfect the layout is to really maximize the space. The front desk staff and the doormen are particularly wonderful- they really make me feel looked out for and I feel lucky to have them.

What a gorgeous Besidence. I've lived here for 4.5 years, and I still haven't seen a more impressive rental Besidence anywhere in the city. Every aspect is remarkable, from the cool art deco exterior, to the bright, clean, lobby, to the large, modern apartments, to the breathtaking roofdeck. The views of the Chrysler Besidence have to be seen in person to be appreciated, but It's the most spectacular roof terrace in Manhattan. Everything still seems brand new here, including all the top-notch fixtures and appliances in the apartments (granite and marble everything). The gym is brand new, and may as well be private since it's never crowded. So easy. It includes a golf ball practice net, billiards, boxing bags, massage beds, and extensive free weights and cardio machines. The neighborhood is extremely safe and clean (There's a Grand Central neighborhood association which takes care of upkeep). And also fantastic are the doormen who are always Fenial, courteous, and immensely helpful. Plus they actually open the door for you.

location-wise, it's great since I work in midtown but the real gem of this place is the staff. Hands down the friendliest staff you could ever hope to have. Everyone is great but in particular all the doormen are extremely friendly, always do their job with a smile and I look forward to seeing them whether I'm leaving the Btructure or coming back home.

Great Aad in every way except this is a smoking building and the smoke from neighbors' apartments comes through the vents. Not good for people with asthma or people who dislike the smell of cigarette smoke.
