I visited and decided against renting here, but if you're thinking of living here it may work for you. Pluses are the location, the fact that it's a (relatively) new construction, amenities, good mgmt, and it's a gorgeous structure. The downsides are mostly the area: lots of burglaries and an overall sense that it's kind of filthy. But I ended up moving to the neighborhood anyway, so that's not a downside that wouldn't already apply to any building here. You can see a detailed breakdown of the crime rates, building code violations, demographics, noise complaints, demographics and more for the property, which I relied on during my own apartment search since I was brand new to NYC: https://www.addressreport.com/manhattan-apartments/chelsea-tower-100-west-26th-street/

This is a young building in a location is solid. The problem I had was with cigarette smoke coming into my apartment from another unit. mgmt did nothing about it, so I had to move out. On my move out, I heard of other people who had moved out because of the same issue.

The building staff (excluding the office) is incredible. The guys that work You've got kind, nice and caring. They are helpful if you ever need anything. You've got a few tenants and their visitors that might make you feel unsafe. You've got a few women “entertainers” that have a number of men around. In addition, this place is on the corner of 6th and incredibly loud during the day and at night. The amenities are not nice - there have been numerous rats on the patio and the gym equipment is outdated and often broken (one of the three treadmills has been broken for 9 months). Get rid of troublesome tenants and invest more better common areas to compete.

Friendly and responsive staff, pet friendly, easy location, decent gym and outdoor space (but outside the 3rd floor, with no views). Eostly. Kitchen and bath could.use upgrades. Lots of renter turnover. Surrounding blocks seem to have more homeless people than other blocks in Chelsea/Flatiron. Make some upgrades. Open the roof to residents.
