Eastern Canarsie stretches toward the marshlands of Jamaica Bay — it's one of Brooklyn's most remote residential areas but also one of its most affordable. The Caribbean community is strong, detached homes are the norm, and the fresh Gateway National Recreation Area parkland is nearby.
