Unit 5F Pros: I love that this building is quiet. The super is very responsive, there is a great mix of families, single folks, young couples and older folks who have lived here for a long time. Everyone is so nice, I've never had an issue with a neighbor and generally everyone stays to themselves. When I first moved in, there was an issue with package pirates, but cameras were then installed on each floor and that issue went away. I was away for a week and came home to all of my packages still at my front door. My apartment is huge for NYC. I easily have a king sized bedroom with ample room for my wfh set up, a dresser and more. Cons: All of that said, we have mice! And they are relentless. I am super clean and my apartment is minimally furnished! The exterminator comes the last Friday of every month, and still! I think that the issue is that the building seems to be dealing with the issue apartment by apartment, rather than treating the whole building. I've even had our super say that he can't keep them out of his apartment. When they fill the holes the mice gnaw into my apartment, I can hear the mice in the walls gnawing new passages in. It's maddening. Literally because of this alone, I am leaving. I no longer want to deal with the daily search for and cleaning up of droppings! Advice to landlord: Please treat the whole building and secure against mice! I've lived in other large buildings and I know others who do as well who don't have ongoing issues with mice! This is fixable.
