Pros: Good location, a lot of washers and dryers, closets are big Cons: I have seen multiple cockroaches, the walls are paper thin, the drains get clogged all the time, the area is nice if you go north but there's a meth clinic so a lot of drugged out people in the front and at the train, they also never respond. For the price, it's pretty bad

Pros: It's very close to the C train, the building is very pretty from the outside, the units themselves are generally spacious. Cons: Good God where do I start. Whatever you do, do not rent these apartments as long as the landlord is the same and YHT Management runs the show. It looks pretty at first look, but you'll learn the units are shoddily renovated (i.e kitchen cabinets falling out of the wall - the fix was caulking the gap..., knobs coming unscrewed, thin walls that literally break when you plug something into an outlet, leaky A/Cs) The listings for this property are generally also very very misleading. There is no microwave included. The "shared" roof deck is indeed not shared. It is locked from the outside this is a HUGE fire hazard. Because of the design layout of the building packages will get stolen all the time. Sometimes it can be sketchy because of its proximity to Fulton (i.e human poop was under the stairs outside the building) The building does not get cleaned frequently enough, trash rooms pile up and get nasty quickly, many washers and dryers in the basement break frequently and don't get fixed. Oh and there's a hole in the ceiling in the laundry room where random water drips from time to time. Need any fixes done? Good luck, they respond via portal but then send a revolving door of handymen instead of licensed professionals who can actually fix the issue. I'm sure if you have the money there might be 1 or 2 units in this building that are manageable, but whatever you do, do not rent anything with a skylight or on the top floor. There is a never ending leak and they refuse to pay the money to have it properly fixed. A handyman will come by and patch it up every time but they'll never spend the money to redo the roof or find the source of the leak. Don't try and stick it out it will never be fixed they will lie to you saying it is being fixed. In addition to the most disgusting rent hikes known to man, the landlord and management company will also try to STEAL a portion of your security deposit. Just flat out refuse to give a big chunk of it back to you even though there is nothing wrong with the apartment upon move out and you have picture proof and a positive walk-through with no notes. Just because the landlord "did not approve it". Even if it is within your legal right to obtain the full amount back and most likely you ABSOLUTELY are in the right to get all your money back. Take them to housing court, fight to get your money back. Housing in the city is crazy enough, why deal with people out to take everything from you. Advice to landlord: Sell this building to someone who is actually fit to be a landlord.

Pros: There's nothing to like about this place -- except possibly the other tenants. Cons: Do not rent here. Management is unresponsive and will steal your security deposit. Management will not fix issues (washer/dryer was broken the entire year and a half i lived here). They failed to pay their ConEdison bill. They failed to fix leaks in the roof. There are crackheads everywhere on this corner. The electricity bill is ungodly -- I'm sure there's something unseemly there with management too. Packages are regularly stolen and they refuse to change the code to enter the building. If something is stolen, they will charge you $50 to access the security footage. Advice to landlord: Sell.

Pros: The appliances are nice in the apartment are nice. building is nicely renovated. The location is incredible, steps of the C! Cons: The management is very unresponsive to issues. Super can takes days or weeks to come for an issue. Laundry room has had 3 out 8 machines broken and they have not been fixed in month. Tenants have complained of the virtual doorman system breaking and the building has refused to give us keys.

Pros: the building is in okay condition, but it’s a fairly new building so that’s not saying much. tenants on the 4th floor have already complained about rain leaking and water damage. the hallways are pretty dirty and the laundry room is not clean and several washer/dryers don’t work properly Cons: don’t live here unless you want to fight YHT management on every single issue you have. they charge fees for every single thing imaginable, and they are horrible about response time when you have issues needing to be solved. and they don’t communicate at all about when someone will be coming to fix your issue, and that’s even if they end up showing up at all! you’re telling me you can’t call the morning of and say “hey I’ll be there around this time”??? do noooooot live here unless you want to pay insanely high rent for the most mediocre apartment ever Advice to landlord: get a better management company

Unit 2D Pros: fairly clean, decor was nice Cons: Electronic front door does not work when power is out Management is hard to get a hold of, especially when it is time to collect security deposit Laundry machines often broken Tiny hallways and steep stairs

Pros: YHT management is responsive most of the time, enough privacy. Bathrooms and kitchen are modern. Cons: I had a room with 2 skylights and a window. Great for light but in the summer it felt like a green room and in the winter it got really cold, I’d have to crank the heat up all the time. Management won’t fix things that are theirs to fix, Cheap fixtures on doors never got fixed for example . Hallways sometimes smell like trash. Expensive laundry. MANY bugs in basement floor— needs better pest control. Advice to landlord: More accountability for things that need to be fixed. Better pest controls more reasonable rent .

Unit 1D Pros: big apartments (not big for the price any more) Cons: building is gross in basement - laundry and trash rooms never cleaned. Owner hires some of the worst handymen Ive ever dealt with. Original renovation was done with bare minimum (cabinets separating from wall, calking falling off, etc) Advice to landlord: Just pay 5 hours more of attention to this building a week and it would be excellent.
