Unit 3D Pros: The neighbors were great and Bed-Stuy truly is my favorite neighborhood. So many Black-owned businesses right around the corner, especially on Tompkins! Cons: I lived here from 2018-2020 and there was a horrendous mice infestation. We were the first tenants to live in the apartment after the unit had been renovated, so the apartment gave the impression of being nice. Exterminator after exterminator and absolutely nothing fixed the problem. Water leakage issues under the floorboards in the kitchen caused the wood to rise and split. Poorly renovated in a building that unfortunately was not cared for. Ridiculously overpriced for inhumane living conditions, I hope they figured it out. Advice to landlord: I hope you figured it out because you caused a lot of people anxiety and stress.

Unit 4B Pros: The super is very nice. Helps to become friendly with him and know Spanish. Cons: Cannot have packages delivered. They will get stolen. The intercom does not work. There are bugs and the management is not responsive. Advice to landlord: Soundproof the apartments or evict the tenants that blast music past 10pm on a Tuesday. Fix the intercom systems.

Pros: The location is good, and the unit we live in is pretty nicely renovated with washer/dryer in unit and a dishwasher. Cons: Building hallway and stairwell maintenance is horrible. People smoke inside and make the whole building smell like weed and try to cover it up with incense but it makes the issue worse. Often there is food, toys, trash, and even dog shit left in the downstairs hallway. Management is pretty unreachable. We had mold and water damage from a leak out of our control and it took months of us contacting them and filing a 311 complaint and withholding rent for them to do anything. Also the building has a roach problem and when brought up to management they said that has never been an issue before- which is clearly a lie from reading other reviews of the building on here. Advice to landlord: Fix the broken things in the building before people have unsanitary living conditions lol

Pros: Lots of great amenities from renovated unit, good features for the price. Management is communicative about billing questions but will often not reply back to repair requests and just send someone randomly the next week to fix issues. Cons: Says no dogs allowed but there are semi-frequent dog dropping sightings in the hallway. Neighbors don’t clean up after their kids’ messes so there’s often trash, food, and toys in the hallway which furthers a German roach problem that affects the entire building. Some neighbors will crowd the stairway to smoke pot in the evening and blast loud music during the day.

Pros: The apartment itself is newly renovated & spacious with lots of storage space. Landlords did a great job by putting laundry in unit. Cons: Unfortunately, the building itself is very old and has a bad roach problem. Despite having a clean apartment, you still see roaches quite often. There is an exterminator who comes by, however without a more thorough treatment of the entire building, you will still see these pests everywhere. It's also a very noisy block. If your room faces the street, be prepared to be kept awake by neighbors playing music at all hours of the night. These are things I wish I knew before moving in. If I did, I would have spared myself and lived somewhere else. Advice to landlord: Your building has a roach infestation, get a more efficient exterminator.
