Pros: Relatively cheap for the size of apartment you get. Good noise insulation between apartments. Cons: Separate water heater for each apartment means super high electric and gas bills. Eats up a lot of the rent you save. Also management is very unresponsive.

Pros: Location is good Cons: It is above a bar and next to a grocery store with 6am deliveries including on the weekend.

Unit 5a Pros: - Great area. Close to 5 ave with a lot of convenient shops and right next door to the ymca and a good yoga studio around the corner, also not too far from the park - Solid size one bedroom in NY - Close to the G, F,D, N, R, W Cons: - Outdated appliances (my fridge has been buzzing non-stop since I moved in) - no washer dryer - low ceilings (hard to move in furniture) - small cheap windows with A LOT of heat leakage and no noise insulation! (I am woken up nightly by motorcycle blasting by) - very difficult to install internet Advice to landlord: - This is an old building with a lot of quirks(the outlets don't work until you turn on specific light switched, the gas meter and electric meter are in different rooms in the basement, that I had to search out myself) It's probably not in your interest to tell a tenant all of these things before they sign, but after at the very least leave a list of all the information somewhere, instead of leaving the tenant to hunt for all of this information themselves. (You need to have a talk with your super, he didn't even know what gas company serviced the building) -
