**This is a review for 3000 Ocean Parkway, but the two Shorecrest Towers buildings (2940 & 3000 Ocean Pkwy) are really the same** The Good: Great location, nice sized apartments (many with balconies), security, package room for tenants, nice lobby, decent gym, 24 hour laundry, safe neighborhood, tons of transportation The Bad Building marketed as "luxury apartments" but they really are not. Nice lobby but apartment renovations are done fast & on the cheap. Lots of older, not so luxury apartments with long time rent stabilized residents. Market rents can be high & not worth what you're really getting. There are tons of maintenance issues (leaks EVERYWHERE) & they cut maintenance staff. The parking is pricey. In a weather emergency (i.e. Hurricane Sandy, big snow storm) you can get stuck in the area for days if transportation not running. The Ugly: Roach & vermin infestations. Ugh. This is really due to old plumbing in the building (remember the leaks I mentioned earlier). You'll see roaches in common areas, especially in the summer. And some will make their way to the apartments. But mice issue varies by apartment - some get none, some get few, some are inundated. After 12 years of no mice, I suddenly got inundated with mice in 2019. Worst experience ever. Problem isn't as bad in 2020 but I still get unwanted visitors. Building management really does nothing except give you traps. I've taken it upon myself to find & close holes/spaces where they're coming in from in order to make do. Only reason I haven't moved is due to COVID & my pay was cut so I can't afford to move. As of 2021, will only sign 1 year lease. No longer willing to sign 2 year leases. If this building was had a good management company and was well taken care of, this would be one of the best places to live in the area. But with all things NY real estate, its all about money & not quality.

Do NOT LIVE HERE. Do not live here. Do not live here. And if you decide to move into 2940 ocean parkway (you would be insane to do so) Unless you want to be greeted by neighbors who slam their door all day. I mean like all day like 14 times a day. Because of the loudness of the door slams I have developed high anxiety because I jump so hard every time their door is slammed. It starts early in the morning around 7 am when the kids go to school. And ends in the evening around 11pm. On top of that all of their little friends (ages about 8-17) like to come and "play" so be prepared for playing in the hard , yes PLAYING IN THE HALLWAYS, banging on your walls, it's like about 4-5 kids on a daily basis PLUS their friends. And omg let's not begin to talk about the constant banging, stomping and screaming that occurs all day and all night. Within their apartment. Loud music as well. Someone is learning to play the guitar. My vases have broken, picture frames fallen off the wall and rattling throughout my whole apartment due to the vibration of their animalistic behavior. They don't stop. They don't care. They blast music. Scream in the hallways. Bounce basket balls. Run up and down the hallways. Including slamming the doors of the staircases. They are too lazy to take their garbage 20ft away to the compactor so they leave the garbage on the floor making way for smelly hallways, roaches and mice. I have written letters, emails, phone calls and even a break down in the lobby at security it has now only gotten worse. Oh I'm not finished. If you still Decide to take an apartment which you too mush be some sort of crazy, the apartment above is just as bad! They are a very angry couple who fights all the time. They stomp all day especially after an argument. They have a dog that is over the lease weight limit. (It's a wolf dog) and he runs around dragging toys and furniture all day and night. To make matters worse they are always dragging and drilling. Maybe they are a carpenter? Also they have that robot vacuum cleaner that rolls around all day and gets stuck in spots so be prepared for an endless drilling sound. (10-15 mins) Idk but I have no sleep here or peace. They argue the most in the wee hours in the am so be prepared to be startled out of your sleep. Their dog also barks NON STOP. Now another reason why you should not take an apartment at 2940 Ocean Parkway is that there is a dog on this floor who lives in one of the apartments whose window face ours And BARKS ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL DAY. It's one of those little yapping dogs. In addition to the one million dogs in the building you will hear barking. Forever!!!! BE PREPARED. Lastly, If you STILL want to take this apartment be prepared for banging on the walls in your bedroom EVERY TIME someone throws out their garbage. The wall is next to the chute. You hear it all. They they are working on the balconies of all the apartments with them. So be prepared for drilling starting as early as 645 am mon-fri. It's been going on for over a year now. I am breaking my lease as my mental health is affected. Please for the love of God don't rent here. Management will not help. They will just listen. And I don't need free therapy. Oh and another, if you drive and don't like spending 1-2 hours looking for parking you can pay $350+ to park your car. And lastly I forgot to add that though there are MANY sweet humans in this building it does not surpass the amount of racists that reside here. This is not a community. It's a LUXURY Project.

Run run run don't waste your money I wish I didn't need to stay here and can't wait to get out as far as possible the worst building and management ever! Plumbing and heating system is so old there are constant leaks and no heat entire winter having daily fights with management and they just cannot fix because it's so old. Dog poop and urine is everywhere inside and outside the building it reeks. Roaches, bed bugs, mice infested you name it. Disgusting people Who don't clean up after dogs and who throw burning cigarettes from their windows and balconies that fall on cars on my terrace a few times when my child was playing there, on me actually thank for it landed on my jacket and not on my face. Don't be filled by the beautiful lobby and renovated apartments if you're lucky.

Terrible staff, nasty and lazy security. Nasty leasing agents. Rude and disrespectful people with no courtesy. The renovations are cosmetic, The buiilding is old and the walls are paper thin. They provide no customer service.

Run for the hills, do not rent at Shorecrest Towers, you will be extremely disappointed. The noise that you hear above you, beside you and in the hallway is unbearable. I will not be renewing my lease. This is luxury living at its worst, save your money. Compactor in hallway is kept in a deplorable state which causes you to have large cockroaches that you cannot get rid of.

Don't be fooled by the beautiful new renovations in the apartments and upcoming facelifts in the lobby. These buildings are a ____hole. We moved in last year and were very very happy about the apartment itself and the location. Slowly we started realizing that management is just doing facelifts so they can sell apartments, but once you sign the lease...forget it. Just this week I was in the filthy laundry room and saw 4 cockroaches* (with photos and video to back it up). Today I came back to my apartment to find a cockroach* sitting on the wall right next to my apartment entrance. I called the security officer and after 20 minutes of waiting in the hallway he came up and smashed it against to wall and scooped it up. I wasn't about to be the one to clean cockroaches in the hallway of a building that I pay insane rent for... He found a bunch more in the garbage chute room on our floor as he went to throw it out. He also mentioned that there are hundreds of them all throughout the two buildings and that although management claims there is an exterminator that comes every morning, he noted that neither he nor any tenant has ever seen one on premise. All the tenants complain, but all the money goes into renovating the apartments and putting in a swanky lobby so that they can fool people like us into thinking this is a nice building. It's also completely impossible to reach management - go ahead give it a try. Call (718) 407-4551 and pretend your a tenant from apartment 12R needing to fix something or to address a billing problem (because you kept getting charged for things you weren't supposed to be charged for... that's another story). It goes to a front desk lady who redirects you to another woman's voicemail... every single time. For the ridiculous prices they charge here, go to another place. Also, if the next renovation ends up being above or below your apartment, expect the banging and drilling to never end. It's been weeeks. My wife is a night shift pediatric nurse and I asked the super twice to give me a heads up if there will be construction so that she can sleep at my parents house before her shift. He never gave us a heads up and the banging continues on unpredictable days - are we supposed to not sleep in our apartment because we can't predict when construction will be? Once our lease is up we are outta here and I highly recommend you don't fall into the same trap we did with the beautiful renovations. *For anyone skeptical of my definition of a cockroach: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_cockroach
