Pros: The best thing about the building is the staff. They are all super friendly and will go out of their way to help tenants. The amenities are great in theory, but pool/gym/courts are often too crowded or completely booked. Very dog friendly building. Almost every tenant has a dog (huge con if you dislike dogs). Proximity to the ferry is convenient if your commute is to DUMBO, Wall Street, 34th Street, or LIC. Cons: The waterfront location seems ideal until you actually live here. Unlike other buildings on the water, North 6th street is a wind tunnel year-round. In the winter, expect to get completely smacked by strong winds when walking toward the building—making even one block feel like a trek. It’s also a 10-12 minute walk to the nearest train station (the Bedford L) which is rough in the winter. When it snows, everything but the areas around The Edge are properly shoveled. On weekends, the area might as well be the Time Square of Brooklyn. Streets are so crowded you can barely walk to your destination. Walls are PAPER THIN. I can hear my neighbors alarm clocks, phones ringing, and conversations very clearly. Constant renovations are a nuisance. If you have a window that is facing the courtyard, good luck. Screaming children are out there with their nannies from AM to PM. Speaking of neighbors... the majority of Edge tenants are not friendly to each other. Many of them often act privileged and entitled, even in the hallways and elevators. Film and TV productions are often shot in the lobby or right outside the building. Sounds cool, except The Edge allows these production teams to block tenants from passing through. Yep, even during morning rush hours. I’ve been late to work because of this multiple times. Overall, I recommend this building only for the friendly staff, cleanliness, and amenities—but you can find that anywhere. Advice to landlord: Soundproof the walls, pave the area when it snows, stop letting film/tv productions block the building’s entrance, and try to get more humble tenants in the building.

Pros: Great staff, well kept, amazing amenities and great location. Cons: It’s cold in the winter! Not inside the building but it’s right on the water. Neighbors can be snooty and classist. That’s what you get when white people move in. The surrounding area of Williamsburg in general is DIRTY. GARBAGE EVERYWHERE ON THE STREETS. I don’t understand why people pay so much money in taxes to live here and the streets are littered in trash and dog shit. Advice to landlord: None at all. Love the building.
