Unit 1R Pros: Great location. Cute area of Bushwick. Cons: https://nypost.com/2024/10/27/us-news/its-nycs-priciest-slum-an-apt-building-with-nearly-4g-rents-mold-rats-in-trendy-nabe/ The landlord is over-charging everyone. The building is fully rent stabilized. The hot water goes out constantly and the building is so cold. The city needs to take over this building ASAP Advice to landlord: Quit overcharging

Pros: Location is great Cons: The management company is totally negligent when it comes to upkeep of the building. Pest issues - rats, flies, bedbugs - are not handled with the urgency they deserve. The pest control company they use is actually great but the management is often unresponsive to emails asking for the pest control technicians to come. Whole building was without hot water for multiple consecutive (very cold!) days in March. The apartment is not updated and the insulation is horrible, which means you either rack up a crazy electric bill to blast the heat or spend the winter somehow colder inside your apartment than outside of it. We had a leak from the upstairs apartment in our shower that was not addressed for WEEKS at a time, and when they did send someone to fix it they just made a huge hole in our ceiling that took several emails back and forth to have someone finally come fix. Also they tried to raise our rent by 23% which is way more than anyone should ever have to pay to live in this shoddy place.
