Unit 10 Pros: Relatively affordable, landlord leaves us alone and fixes things sometimes. Love the neighborhood. Cons: Pests, too hot in winter, no window in the kitchen/living room area. Sharing 1 bathroom with 4 people. 1 tiny closet for all of us. Advice to landlord: Lower the rent. Keep it cleaner to prevent roaches.

Pros: Neighbors are nice! Cons: Management barely addressed the frequent heat/hot water issues and the public areas were often dirty for weeks and weeks. They rarely communicated about any issues, and lied to us about why something had suddenly stopped working (eg: the gas was turned off for a week because they did illegal repairs, but they blamed the city and national grid for turning it off). Don't live here!!!

Unit 1 Pros: Location is decent Cons: They run a pump and dump scheme. They tie you to a lengthy contract and they never fix anything Advice to landlord: Stop scamming people who are trying to get by

Unit 9 Pros: Really the only pro is the amazing location - it's right near the Montrose L, nearby the J and G. Cons: Constant issues with heat and hot water. Even in the dead of winter. They DO NOT repair issues fully and instead it got to the point where we are taking it to the city. It is SO poorly managed. EVERY YEAR the heat and hot water goes out and the management poorly "fixes" it and then it breaks again. The was a dangerous gas leak AND STILL the management didn't do anything to fix the problem, blamed national grid when actually the management wasn't do anything to fix literally unlivable conditions. DO NOT LIVE HERE. Advice to landlord: Fix the issues - heat and hot water is BASIC NECESSITY that NEED TO BE MET.

Pros: We were mainly drawn in by the exposed brick in our unit (not all of them have brick). The neighborhood is also decent. Our bedrooms fit full/double size beds and at least 2 pieces of furniture + closet. Pets are fine. Tall ceilings Cons: Management is slow to react to issues, if they react at all. We constantly have issues with either the heat not working, radiators in two rooms leaking tons of water on the floor, leak under the sink that kept going after 2 different "repair men" came, the shower running out of water mid shower or it'll only provide 192° (with a thermometer, by a 311 inspector) water, or icy cold water. No one cleans the stairs or lobby. There are many rats in the trash bins outside but I haven't had rats on the 4th floor. Advice to landlord: Answer voicemails and emails. Go through the voicemail box that's full, address the issues, and delete the messages so you can keep up with issues. This is the job you signed up for. I've come to your office and seen that you have a full staff. Also, better get to work fixing the hot water because the 311 inspector was here 2 days ago.
