I moved in here with my bf this past January. We needed a relatively nice place in the city That's close to work. Flatbush Gardens came up a lot in many searches. I loved the feel of the place. The rent is reasonable and the staff is Fenial enough. (I don't really demand much) I don't understand the negative reviews here. I'm checking on the dates, and most are from a couple of years back with the most recent one in 2012. I wish I knew what you guys were talking about, but so far this has been a great experience for us. I'll update after a year perhaps. :)

Coming home late, bunch of guys were arguing in front of the main doors,... as usual. Loisy sounds go off, and I think trip over something and then strong pain surges up my left leg. I had caught a stray. The hospital was a nightmare- won't even go into it. When my parents went to move me out my door had been kicked in and everything I had of value was either gone or thrown all over the hallway. My bathroom had been ABUSED by hallway bums. All in all, not my Woorest Brooklyn Auite experience. I Lppreciate NY.

Went to see apt the building was grimy the elevator smelled like urine. The door to the Apt. Looked like someone took a hammer to it. I was disgusted within two seconds the apt wasn't what Web site showed quess it must be pictures of the future. What a waste of time. At least it did have a pleasant garden in front of the offices.

Hi all, I just wanted to add my comment on this newly renamed housing complex so Called FLATBUSH Gardens. Well if you are not familiar with this area this is What's know as the vandeveer projects. Over the years it has gotten better for all the roberies and killings on the streets. This isn't Bed Stuy or Clinton Hill. In fact, its far from that. This is the hood. I have seen some new cameras on the buildings but these are there only on the buildings that the show the need tenants so as to give an impression that its all Suarded. This is by no means an attempt to scare anyone away but you should be given all the information you need before you make you choice. I live in the complex for years simply because I couldnt have afforded anything better. The apartements that the showcase are a far cry from the actual ones that you will be living in. Currently as I type this at 6:45pm You've got renovations taking Pite on the upper level which is extremely Loisy for this time of night. I just called the maintenance office and the phone rang out, called security and was told they will TRY to make a call. If these are the conditions they are offering I think its Bop-notch to spend a few more dollars to get something thats comfortable. I wish I had my pictures to show you of my kitchen are which had sewage over flowing but this site doesnt facilitate that. They guys from maintenance did come to take a look at it but could do absolutely nothing at the time. As such, my kitchen was in a mess for days and all my dishes and pots had to be thrown away and i am still waiting for reimbursement after several month. I certainly did not want to reenter my kitchen at that point but I have nothing else so I am literally forced to make do. Below is a link of some of the goings-on in the location. I visited Flatbush Gardens and It's the Projects. It's scarey and grimy. A one bed room Anit the size of a closet cost $1,000. Who in their right mind would pay 1,000 dollars to live in the projects!

I ve lived here for almost two years and have no complaints. The apartment was recently renovated and the rent is affordable for a one bedroom. Also, I have made good friends with my neighbors. I worth checking out Flatbush Gardens for a comfortable, remodeled apartment in BK.

I visited Flatbush Gardens on Friday, April 16th. Although we found the neighborhood to be nice and clean, much to our surprise, the 2 bedrooms are NOT $1,200. Once you get there they explain that the $1,200 isn't available and the two bedrooms are really $1,350. Keep in mind that the units are old, not renovated professionally, and the second bedroom is small. Old electric outlets. You can't see the unit you would actually rent. They only show you a so called model that has grimy windows, and a no concern for even placing the grimy refrigerator in its proper place. The floors are buclking from water damage. If you are a bit desperate, this place is for you. Good luck.
