Unit 310 Pros: Old world charm in historic building Cons: Bad management, inadequate services such as trash piles up frequently, key fobs stop working often resulting in you being locked out for hours from your own apartment, crumbling infrastructure/ structure such as ceilings and walls crumbling, no insulation resulting in very high utility bills, and illegally raising rent to levels not following city laws Advice to landlord: Do right by your tenants and help those who are providing you with your life of luxury

Pros: The style, with upkeep could be absolutely spectacular Cons: Safety was an issue. Had a baby in 2020, was living there, paint chips fell from ceiling, weird dust on brick wall, faulty plugs that would randomly spark up, exposed wood under loft part of the apartment. Advice to landlord: STOP CUTTING CORNERS.

Pros: Great heat, large rooms. Cons: Landlord jacks up the rent to where its unlivable. Problematic renters making noise at all hours of the night. Advice to landlord: Cost of living is way to high for this run down apartment.

Unit 409 Pros: Unique loft apartments with plenty of character. Basement has a lot of recreational space, including a music room, gym, dance studio, lounge area, etc. Nice front courtyard, backyard and rooftop areas. Cons: This place is decaying and falling apart. No elevators. Rats are a major issue in this building. This building is also located near a methadone clinic, so the area is kind of sketchy despite all the gentrification. Advice to landlord: Maintain the building better.

Pros: Units can be very attractive and the location is great. The roof is huge so that's a big plus. The history of the building is cool. Comes with free internet but it's likely so landlords can monitor you :) Cons: --A ton of safety violations, lots of corner cutting. The owners do not take repairs seriously and will do anything not to pay for them. They'll make you wait forever and then send non-plumbers to fix issues that certified plumbers should handle. If you have a gas leak they'll refuse to believe it. Duct tape everywhere, including in the apartments. Fire safety is laughable. The electric locks on the front and back gates are glitchy, especially when it's cold. If they glitched during a fire you'd be trapped. --If you live on the first floor, the incessant beeping of the gate will drive you crazy. --Floors are severely tilted in some rooms. --Heaters are definitely illegal, sketchy, and too loud to leave on while sleeping. --Roach problem from the first floor is so bad it goes up to the 4th floor. --Often the build-outs in the loft were made by previous tenants, not the landlords, so there's no telling how safe they are. --Mold problems in the basement and in some apartments. --Laundry room not in use anymore and when it was open the machines were pretty janky. --Noise levels on the 4th floor units are okay because the walls are thick, but noise from floors below and on the roof can be a huge problem. Forget about the second floor--there are literal HOLES in between the apartments because they were too lazy to insulate the wires or sprinklers. If someone in the next room is watching a movie you'll hear every word. Might be true on first and third floor too. --You have the feeling living here that there's tons of safety issues you're not even aware of. Feels scary. --Outdoor staircase very dangerous to use in snow or ice. Advice to landlord: Bring the building up to code :)

Unit 116 Pros: The neighbors are great Cons: Rats. Rats. Rats! The trash piles up in the courtyard and on the side of the building weekly. There are consistent leaks throughout the building and mold in the basement. The hallways and basement are unheated and where there is heat in the lofts—it is from huge overpowering gas heaters that turn the place into a dry sauna and to boot are constantly breaking down; woefully unreliable much like the unresponsive super. The outdoor stairs are not safe; if snow piles up on them (they are not salted) there is no way to get out in the case of a fire. There are electrical surges constantly. Did I mention the rats. Advice to landlord: Stop being a criminal.

Pros: Good tenants. Feels like family Cons: Heater. Brick flecks fly into unit if there are strong winds
