Pros: None! This is a hopeless case and a $@&* hole. Cons: It’s Carroll Garden’s meeting place for roaches, rats and mice. Ms. Chanmattie Persaud refuses to make repairs and treats tenants in an awful way. She is being sued by HPD for non compliance. There are hundreds of violations. The owner is incredibly incompetent! It is almost criminal how she and her husband have been getting away with this! Advice to landlord: Repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair, repair.....

Pros: It’s in Carroll gardens, though on the worst block in the neighborhood Cons: The entire building is in disrepair, there has never been any attempt at cleanliness, it almost looks abandoned. The landlords are now going through a costly divorce, so on top of never repairing anything, they are also trying to harass tenants out of the building so they can raise rent or sell. Move in if you enjoy having your landlord show up at all hours of the day and night to scream at you and call you a demon. Advice to landlord: Learn how to speak to people. Treat your tenants like human beings and not cash machines. Put money into bringing the property up to code instead of funding your “lifestyle”.

Pros: Carroll Gardens is kind of cool, but the block the building is on is pretty garbage compared to the rest of the neighborhood Cons: Extremely thin walls can hear my neighbors talk, the building is in disrepair (over 700 HPD violations), the owners (a divorcing couple) are fighting over the building and are extremely rude bullies, who harass their tenants Advice to landlord: Be nicer and stop threatening eviction over your incompetence to fix the building
