Unit 3H Pros: Overall very positive experience being a resident here. I love my floor to ceiling windows. Having a dishwasher and laundry downstairs rocks. Neighbors are respectful and the walls are thick. The location is so close to the J and multiple different busses, and being that we’re not in the trendy part of Bushwick, the area is family-oriented. Management is mostly efficient and responsive when I have a problem. The 1920s mansion façade on Bushwick Ave is also very charming to come home to. Cons: Like in many New York apartment buildings, the details aren’t quite right. The building isn’t heated. The “package room” is a dingy storage closet (but better than having our stuff stolen!), the “laundry room” is a hallway outside of the boiler room with three washers and dryers parked directly in front of people’s basement apartments. There’s a roach problem down there that has occasionally proliferated upstairs. The superintendent is inconsistent with keeping the common spaces clean. Advice to landlord: Charge less for an apartment with half functional, mismatched appliances that are sometimes installed upside down, and figure out the trash situation outside. The city keeps fining your building because we’re supposed to be composting.

Pros: I liked the back patio, newly renovated as well and big windows Cons: Not a ton going on in the area, my packages were always stolen even when delivered inside, way too $$$ for the size apartment kitchen sink was too shallow and bathtub wouldnt drain well Advice to landlord: better security

Unit 2J Pros: Maintenance was a breeze. We hardly had any issues in three years and everything was handled swiftly. Central AC was a huge win and noise was never much even with parties next door. Cons: Definitely a bit overpriced for the location and amount of space. Closet space could’ve also been better.

Pros: Large units, updated, pretty safe building Cons: The building is so poorly put together. There are literally open spaces in the front door from it not fitting in the door frame, which makes it impossible to stay heated in the winter. There's no insulation and you can feel the wind outside through closed windows. Our freezer never worked the whole time there because the owner purchased cheap, non-branded appliances. Our oven is so tiny for as much space as the unit has. Advice to landlord: stop being cheap and do proper upgrades. You want $4k+ for units, but don't even offer 2 full bathrooms, in-unit laundry, or have a gym.

Pros: It had great water pressure and hot and cold water Cons: There is no heat in the overall building. The building is never clean. There is no insulation in the walls so you can hear your neighbors cough. Washing machines always broken and tenants steal clothing as well as packages. Advice to landlord: You shouldn’t be so greedy with collecting rent and not putting it back into the building for your paying tenants.

Pros: Laundry in the basement, AC in each room, dishwasher, new hardwood floors. Maintenance requests are usually handled quickly. Cons: Don’t even consider unless you have an alternate mailing address. There’s a very serious package theft problem in the building and management refuse to do something as simple as changing the building entry code. The code has been leaked to non-residents and my roommate ran into someone with a fresh direct backpack raiding all the packages. You can hear the J train passing by. The giant windows are great for sunlight. Also means the rooms are hot as hell in summer and cold af in winter.

Pros: Back yard, location, laundry on site. Cons: Sewage flooding, water flooding. Neglected pipes and plumbing. Ceiling leaks. Electric heating doesn't work. Packages constantly stolen. Management refuses to address endless issues Advice to landlord: Maintain the building and plumbing better, change security codes frequently, respond to tenants, or lower the rent.
