I can not wait until my lease Itays over. The whole Bomplex Itays full with mice. I caught 4 in 6 months. Beside that it's livable :-).

Pros: next to bus stop, opposite park ( if you can get past the traffic noise, i.e. If you face the park, you face the traffic), good super who responds to all your calls. Cons: MICE, LEAKY BATHROOM ROOF, RECURRENT BROKEN ELEVATOR, TRAFFIC NOISE if you face the park! full of mice that leave little droppings all over; the exterminator comes twice a month to NO AVAIL; I keep my Alat really clean of food/organic matter, but it still has rats. The bathroom roof leaks when the person who lives above takes a shower. This is a problem with all apartments on my side of the Btructure. The flush has broken down at least 4 times The elevator has broken down 5 times in the last 6 months- once for 4 days at a stretch, and at other times for 1-2 days. loud traffic- I live on the 8th floor and the traffic still wakes me up every morning. Don't listen to the mgmt who tries to con you by telling you the traffic noise is OK after the 4th floor. It's'nt! Would I recommend this Alat? NEVER! You've got SEVERAL other buildings in Riverdale ( where my friends live)- which don't have rats/ leaky bathroom roofs/ broken elevators- AND they are much cheaper that 1300/- per month for a 1 BR( which is what they charge me here), more easy location ( near Johnson Ave). LOOK AROUND GUYS, YOU WILL GET A FAR BETTER PLACE.

This building is a total improvement from where I use to live, but it seems like the building needs to be mopped more and the laundry room areas look like they haven't been cleaned in a long time. I did see a water bug and 1 roach after a rainstorm in my apartment and I totally freaked out. We figured it came from the hole the internet guy made when installing out wifi. Since then we have not seen any roaches/waterbugs..ughh... other than that I feel safe in this building, and it looks like my review has improved sinced 2010-2013 where tenants were complaining about mice..calling them rats. I pray I never see that, because I really like writing good reviews.

Nice neighborhood, family oriented, gourmet grocery store close by, relatively quiet building, laundry room in building, balcony Roaches sometimes, kitchen and bathroom need to be renovated

I moved in February 2012 and since I stepped foot in that building the lobby always smells like dead mice. The first time I went to use the garbage shoot, roaches came out of there so I never used it again. I fumigated and the roaches started to come out of the woodwork. I have seen only two small roaches in my apt but I keep up with the exterminator and my own preventions. but, the other day I walked out of my apt and there were like 10 dead roaches in the hallway. I hear my neighbors have lots of mice, they have caught 2 in one day. I haven't had any mice in my apt but there was one riding the elevator one morning. this place isn't kept up well or cleaned for that matter. They dont sweep or mop as they should and the hallways smell weird since There's no air circulation. The repairs are shotty and not done correctly. The sliding closet doors fall out of the tracks and the tracks are also broken. I asked for them to change the tracks and they didn't. When I was given that apt the apt was filthy and I had to scrub the bathroom and stove because they hadn't been cleaned in ages. My lease is up in 2013 and I have noplans of renewing it. I wouldn't recommend that building to anyone. They have a serious roach and mice problem in that building and they don't seem to care, plus more than 90% of the tenants don't cooperate with the exterminator. It's a shame because the apts have the potential to be beautiful if they were only better kept.

I was a tenant in this apartment building for two years. During the first year, everything was acceptable; but, the second year became infested with rodents. I was eager to relocate. On a single evening, I spotted mice on 7 separate occasions. It was a complete horror show. Another resident even had mice tunnel into her bed!!

I'm writing this as someone currently in the process of leaving. After spending two years here, the experience has been quite tough at various points. The rodent infestation has been terrible. The exterminator provided by mgmt does an okay job with insects, but is practically ineffective against mice. Plus, we've dealt with a significant roach problem as well. I stopped tracking the number of mice I've trapped after hitting around 25. We ultimately resolved the mouse issue by adopting a cat, which directly violates our lease agreement. Apparently, disease-ridden vermin are acceptable, but having a pet isn't. That's rather backwards. also, the "secure" parking area isn't secure—my vehicle was vandalized while parked there. The building itself is poorly built. We've experienced ceiling water damage repeatedly, which mgmt has ignored despite numerous reports. The walls seem to be held together primarily with drywall tape and fasteners. The closet sliding doors keep coming off their tracks, and on one occasion nearly harmed my spouse and destroyed a brand new dresser. Once again, mgmt showed no concern. Based on the constant stream of moving trucks, there's clearly significant tenant turnover, which is understandable given the circumstances. I honestly can't identify anything positive about this property.
