Decent building but has room for improvement in some areas.

The building has been renovated, and rent has been constantly increasing. If you get a reasonably priced Alat, it's too good to be true and won't last long. Good looking building, but hassle and poor quality of the neighborhood are not worth the price.

Goldfarb properties ( The Capri Building in Bronx)- This has been a troublesome experience; this isn't what I signed up for at all. As soon as I moved I had to fix a lot of things in the apt. I had contractors, the super and maintenance people in the apartment every day for the first month. I had to purchase heaters for my home, tolerate excessive noise from my neighbors and deal with a cockroachs infestation. I feel completely ripped off, since I am paying a lot for this apartment. The heat situation last winter was unbelievable. It took for me more than 3 month of fighting to get an acceptable level of heat, even though I am the kind of person who prefers cold temperatures, it was far below freezing. I also found out that in an emergency situation you have to rely only on yourself in this building. Over one weekend my bathroom began to overflow with water from above up to the point that my ceiling collapsed. During the subsequent repairing my floor was damaged and never repaired. Ventilation in my apt never worked at all. In spite of my multiple complaints it never was fixed and at some point I become tired of complaining and decided to live as It's with the growing mold in the bathrooms. In the summer waiting for the elevator was an additional nightmare There's no air ventilation at all, you become drenched in sweat just waiting for the elevator.

Pro's: Public transportation walking distance. Subway. Con's: High crime area, heavy drug dealing, gangs, loiters. Pollution. Lack of parking. Maintaince?

The building has potential but is advertised to mislead new tenants. The doorman are actually front desk security, but they are all pleasant. The heat and water situation (the lack thereof) is unbelievable. The noise level of neighboring tenants is another huge issue, in addition to rodents and loitering. The mgmt team are unprofessional and display little interest in anything after you sign your lease and pay your rent. I worth checking out the Westchester area if you are indeed looking for a Luxury Rental. This has been a troublesome experience, many of the new tenants agree this isn't what we signed up for at all. So if you move in be prepared to purchase heaters for your home, tolerate the noise from your neighbors, make friends with the rodents and feel ripped off.

I wish I had read these reviews before applying. I had the worst experience of my life with this mgmt company. My application got approved for a 2 bedroom at the Capri, and I was contacted by one of their agents to set a date for signing. After agreeing on dates for signing, pickup of keys and lease start (all within the next week), I ended my current lease and booked movers, etc. Then the agent I had been in contact with suddenly stopped all communication when I had asked for a copy of the lease beforehand just to see it. I called, emailed, left voicemails to the office (which is downstairs in the same building). Several days passed, so I went to visit their offices personally. Upon my arrival, I was told that there had been miscommunication between agents and the apt had been rented to someone else in a rude manner. The manager kept interrupting me and trying to stop me from talking repeating "well, there's nothing we can do". They did not offer a solution and completely washed their hands from the mess created by their "internal miscommunication" which has caused me thousands of dollars. When I reached out to another manager, they refused to give me a solution and said that if I contacted them again they wouldn't respond to further emails. Nightmare!!! Now I'm glad I didn't get the apartment because I could only imagine what it would be like depending on them to fix any issues with the apt.

I am a current tenant in the Bronx and so far the experience has been Abysmal. When I moved in, the gas was not connected yet and neither was central air. They were demanding about when we should be home to get central air installed with no flexibility whatsoever. Strike 1. You literally have to make friends with maintenance person to get anything done. It's hard to get in contact with anyone at Goldfarb and they rarely return phone calls...strike 2. I renewed my lease with a certain price for the parking garage and a month after lease was renewed, they hiked up the price of parking, which was not on the lease agreement. Now I am trying to get out of the garage and no one is returning my call with inquiries about parking...strike 3. The properties are nice and well kept, but how mgmt does business is crooked. don't WASTE YOUR TIME RENTING WITH THIS Pite!!!

Loved the doormen Mike & Mark. They were protective of the tenants are never let trespassers in the building. Never had a problem with electricity (besides the NY blackout of 2003), water, heating, anything! Its easily accesible by public transportation and There's a cab stand a block away. My family didn't experience any crime while living there. The building has a parking lot but I only used it for a year before I feel in love with the MTA!

Honestly, it wasn't a bad place to live. It's easy to access (train & bus stop less than a block away from the Bomplex). The Bomplex has doormen to prevent strangers from entering the Bomplex & its apartments. Most tenants are Fffable. I lived in the Bomplex for 18 years and NEVER ran into any crime problems.
