“This place is the utmost worst place to live, I have had multiple issues regarding my air conditioning unit and it takes them days and even on a couple occasions weeks to resolve! This is Houston we live in, it gets hot. It's currently 85 degrees in my apartment because my air conditioning unit went out AGAIN! I have to say this is the 5th or 6th time in a year that this has happened. I do not recommend ANYONE to live here. I never get a response from maintenance regarding an eta for ANY maintenance requests I call about. I even call the emergency line when my kitchen sink was leaking which caused water to go all over my kitchen floor, guess how long they took to come out after multiple calls and attempts? A whole MONTH! I'm going to make sure this place get reviewed by their governing body so they could put better procedures in place.”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I'm a resident here and I wouldn't recommend NOBODY to stay here. Management is horrible and maintenance is even worse. You have to pay $9.50 fee every month to keep the grounds clean but there's ALWAYS trash everywhere. There's 2 pools but only 1 is open & that's only sometimes & it's not cleaned half the time. The ladies in the office always say different stories when you asked them questions. Maintenance takes FOREVER to come fix things. They have HORRIBLE bed bugs in just about every unit and when you tell the office about it they will tell you that you brought them in the unit. All the bedrooms don't have good a/c flowing thru. The water ALWAYS have a browish color. Please don't move here. I'm leaving as soon as my lease is up.”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“These apts are so bad they roob inside of your apt and the management robb in your money as well they dont fix nothing and lie too you all the time that they will fix it if your thinking about moving in these apts turn back around and look somewere else and dont try to call corpartion office either cause they never return your calls or never in the office what they really need to do knck these apts down they falling apart neways and dont never going to fix them just remember if they tell you about these apts and say they cheap on rent just member they do that for a reason cause there charging you alot in late charges and money for them self too manager pocks the moneys for them self and there family,,,,,”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“This is the WORST apartment complex ever. The apartments look pretty decent when you view them, but it's an optical illusion. Once you move in, they don't give a <bleep> about keeping tenants happy and won't fix anything. What they do 'fix' is shoddy work and not acceptable (most of the time). Most of the management team is beyond rude every time you speak to her. They refuse to do anything to improve the units. Also, unless you want to share your apartment with a bunch of ROACHES, then DON'T MOVE HERE!!!!!”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“Maintenance took to long to fix everything, and when they did, they broke something else, the staff is bit rude, not helpful.”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“My daughter and son inlaw were robbed 2 days before christmas and were also robbed for the second time on 4/11/12 and no one cares.....Listen to this review stay away. DO NOT RENT HERE...walk the property first......RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK DONT SAY I DIDN'T SAY SO...”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I have live @ Westway since 2007. I have enjoyed living there. I started out in the middle of the property closer to the pool and it would get noisy during the summer but now I am along the side of the property and find that it is quieter. I have not had any problems with management that couldn't be resolved. Feslisitas has been great since she has been there. I have never had any problems with her and she is very quick to resolve a problem and to keep the tenants happy!!! As for parking, I have never had a problem. Usually when I have a problem and I call maintenance, they are pretty quick to fix the problem.”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I lived in these apartments, for years. Only because the schools are right across the street. I lost EVERYTHING i owned. At the end, I transfered into a smaller unit, that had bedbugs. My kids started getting biten, red bumps everywhere. The apartment management did NOTHING. My car was towed 2 times (in my parking space, i paid for) they did nothing about that, I was out almost $500. Never would fix anything. Rude staff in the office. The fat one in the office, well lets just say...When I moved out of the apartment, i already knew she was flakey. So i made it apoint, to CLEAN everything (bathrooms, closets, shelves, sinks, mirrows etc.) hell I had to throw all my furniture away. She put $480. on my credit! Why you ask?? Well, for trash in the apartment, Late charges on rent (NEVER was late, not even once) a parking fee of $7.00, still trying to figure that one out. when I had to pay $20 for 2 cars. To sum up my note here....STAY AWAY FROM THESE APARTMENTS. THEY MAY LOOK NICE ON THE OUTSIDE, BY BEWARE!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE -0% These apartments have to be hands down, the worst EVER. Maybe if they get the fatty out of there, get a new staff who cares, they would be OK! One more thing, my car was towed, due to the former two Managers who pocketed the parking fees, everymonth. Which they were fired!!”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“If your thinking about moving here, think about it twice. Firstly, their staff have no kind of customer service skills. I had a leak in my apartment and it took them 1 month to fix the problem. The previous manager felicitas was very inconsiderate of her residents, being her next door neighbor was the worst thing. Not only did she have 6 parkings infront of her door but also about 10 people living there....which only left me with 1 parking infront of my door. I had my vehicle towed because according to them they had a new towing company and my vehicle didn't have the updated sticker, which all my vehicles were in my lease including the one that got towed. Seriously, think about it twice before moving here or signing a lease with these people. I'm glad that people are moving out of this place, all of us deserve quality service for our money and this place definately does not provide any of this.”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“this place is no good i recommend that you don't move in here they have very bad maintenance they take about 6 months to fix something for example i have 1 yr and a half and yet have not fix the fan that fail of the office staff is no good the sowers out side is always clog up so is a 0 stars and theres a lot of drug dealing and prostitution here they break into apartments even during the day and steal car”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“My brother lived here a long time ago and he liked it a whole lot. Then my husband and I lived here when we first got married and then moved out closer to my husband's job. We are moving back into the area and are considering living here again. I like it here a lot.”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I lived in these apartments for about 3 yrs and OMG!! At first it was alright?? But then it went down ppl broke into my husband's car and hit my brand new car the next few months after I bought it!!! Hit and run!!!I just woke up one morning and a drunk person hit my car knocking it into a pole! Then me and my neighbors had been there the longest and when they moved the new ppl would BLAST their music. Office staff did nothing and they had security after hrs that sat at the front and did nothing!!We had no hot water for more than six months!!! Until I got tired and said I want be leaving this office until you get a plummer now!! Don't move here!! I wanted out they charged me 1,776.00 most was a water bill!!With no hot water!”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I have been living here for 6 months and I could not wait until my lease was up so I can move the HELL out. A new manager started in April 2010 and He has made several positive changes. The previous manager did not care for the residents or property. It was like living in the pooriest part of Mexico. With the new manager he has cleaned it up and moved people out. (thank god)Now I'm thinking of signing anothre lease.”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT WESTWAY APARTMENTS I LIVE THERE FOR 2 LONG YEARS I HAD EVERY INSECT POSSIBLE INSIDE MY APARTMENT EXPLE: ROACHES, RATS, SPIDERS. AND THE LOVELY MANAGER MARISELA NALASCO I REALLY THINK THAT WOMEN DOESNT EVEN KNOW WHAT HER NAME IS I PUT UP WITH ALL THE SH** FOR TWO YEARS CAUSE OF MY SON SCHOOL THERE WAS NO SERVICE THE OFFICE HIS ALWAYS CLOSED AND EVEN IF ITS OPEN THOSE PEOPLE DONT WORK SOMEBODY BROKE IN TO MY TRUCK AND IN TO MY APARTMENT I HAD TO CALL THE CITY OF HOUSTON FOR MARISELA TO COME FIX MY WINDOW. OH YEA YOU PAY $10 DOLLAR PER MTH FOR YOUR PARKING SPACE AND WHEN THE TOWE TRUCK DOESNT HAVE NOTHING TO DO OR YOU OWE THEN THE WATER WILL THEY WILL GO TOWE YOUR CAR. PLUS IF YOUR AC DOESNT WORK YOUR FU*** CAUSE YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MARISELA PAYS HER AC GUY THEN YOU BE LUCKY IF THEY PUT YOU ON THEIR WAITING LIST LOL. AND TO FINISHE MY LOVELY STORY LORRIE THE ASSISTANT MANAGER WOULD TO TAKE YOUR 30 DAYS NOTICE IF YOU WANT TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE SHE WILL SAY THE WORST THINGS SO YOU WONT GET THE OTHER APARTMENT SO YOU CAN RENEW YOUR LEASE WITH THEM SO THE ONLY THINK I CAN TELL LORRIE AND MARISELA FU** YOU TWO BIT****.”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I currently have an apartment here but thank god I am moving out today. As one of the previous respondents wrote if you like cold showers this is the place. I add when the hot water is working, which seems to be only on weekdays its scalding hot. If someone flushes in the next building your going to get burned. The maintenance staff are the worst I've ever seen. I had black mold in a cabinet when I moved in so I could not use it. The cure the maintenance staff came up with was a can of spray paint, rather than scrape sand and paint properly. The burners on the stove had no supports and the wrong drip trays, so the pans would not sit level. Their answer was to bend everthing into submission which did not work so I just gave up and lived with it. There are also bad outlets on the outsde wall that spark when you plug into them they said they would be back to fix but alas they never returned, big suprise! The sink in the bath would take forever to drain I finally gave up on them bought a plunger and fixed it myself. But the worst of all was the dish washer it was plugged up and full of water when I moved in, over the next month the water got stagnant and stunk when they did finally fix the drain they left all the crap from the previous tenant stuck to the drain screen. So once again I had to hold back the bile take a toilet brush and a bottle of bleach and and clean up somebody elses vile mess. The kitchen is so tight that you can't open the refrigerator stove or dishwasher doors all the way. The grounds themselves look ok Crepe Myrtles trimmed into trees nice effect and good shade. However theres an 8" drain pipe right outside my apartment with no cover that I saw a kid fall in while playing one day he wasn't badly hurt but made me aware of the hazard. Also one of the steps leading up to my apartment is loose and teeters just enough to make it uncomfortale to carry furniture up or down the stairs. When it rains it always floods in front of my building 4" deep at least. The Complex looks good upon first entry however take a close look the jacuzzi usually has a scum ring around it and the pool usually appears as though it needs cleaning. The laundry room is broken down foul smelling and dingy but there is a nice laundromat across the street. Tenants use their front patios as storage for all manner of junk and wood rot is easily visible on much of the wood trim. Parking sucks and you have to pay 10 bucks extra for an assigned spot. Mine was situated so that I backed into someones air conditioning unit and is so tight that you have to be careful about your doors. Several mornings while leaving for work I would see a tow truck with some hapless victims car attached. Now one of my biggest complaints is the push cart ice cream vendors all hours of the day and well into the evening. Obnoxious bike horn and clanging bells loud enough to wake you from any slumber. Don't plan on any Sunday afternoon naps. Have counted as many as three different ones in the complex at one time. Thought there was no soliciting allowed but guess I was wrong. Complained several times about this and it seemed to fall on deaf ears. As for the management staff this place is run by a bunch of young girls whom although very polite and respectful when your in the office, seem to be in way over their heads. I would like to remind them that were not just tennants but customers as I get the impression they are some what jaded and overwhelmed. Lastly for those who think I'm harsh and unfair I state that every word I have written is absolutely true as I see it. As such I am putting my name to it and not hiding behind anonymous.”
“the mail boxes have been out for about 2 weeks and they didnt send out anything saying why we havent got our mail and im being charge for my mail going back to the people that sends me the mail the mail boxes have been broken since we live here that was 2 years ago”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“If you like taking baths in cold water, towing your car for no reason at all, rotating office staff that spend more time with their personal agendas then the upkeep of the apartment tenants move in. I assure you there is plenty of let me downs here. I have been here for 4 years. I know if I hate it so much why did I stay, well I have kids and the school district is worth the trouble. Just recently I have decided to move out. The apartment complex is under bankruptcy protection, and who knows how long it they will be operational. Four years ago the complex was well maintained and decent. Riff Raff was not common place and a family could raise their kids there. Lately, anyone who wants to move in does, and I mean anyone. Your cars are broken in to, and if there are any maintenance problems you better do them your self or wait 6 months. Stay away....Far away....and beware!!!!!”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I have been here since 2003 when the apartments were Manshions on Hammerly. The office people were being changed every 2 weeks the managers as well. the cleaning crew to they would change often and when they did they didn't know what they were doing. Then the apartments were changed to Sendera Westway the Office was Painted Beautiful and new furniture to. We even got new Flags out front and New Name out in front the gate got fixed to. Our problems didn't go away they stayed the same. Rent went up and now the are asking Mandatory Insurance for our Apartment or else you couldn't stay here. I had several issues here People taking my Plants from out on the porch, I can't even wash the kids tennis without them stealing them.Kids running around at all hours jumping on our cars, people throughing trash. Our Mail Box has been broken into several times and there for the post office would not leave mail..I reported to the office, and they were like oh we didn't know about that. I told her do yal not walk the Property??? Thats a shame...Then our apartments were then bought again by Bethany they are called Westway now and they painted the office again and got new furniture again,,,and we all stayed the same,, Trashy,, We have had Black outs several times and took several days to get fixed and no water either that took days to, and hot water goes all the time,,so boiling water is nothing new. They are always saying oh its the boiler, the part has not came in yet,, Bla Bla Bla,,,,, The Pools are dirty and rusty our water is dirty and brown like my toilet is stained with the rust of the water I can bleach it over and over and it is hard to come out. NOW THERE WAS A CHANGE ON HOW WE PARK!!!! WE MUST PAY FOR PARKING!!! AND NO IT IS NOT ON HTE LEASE AGREEMENT THERE WAS JUST A LETTER PUT ON EVERYONES DOOR LETTING US KNOW THERE WILL BE A CHARGE TO PARK HERE EVERY MONTH $10 OR $15 PER CAR!! THAT IS SO WRONG..The issues I have in my apartment never get fixed or it will take months. The maintanance people come and go often or the ones we have just hang out. I'm tired of this crap!!! I need Out and will get out ASAP!! Our apartments went Bankrupt on March 5, 2009 We have no HOT water and have been boiling water for me and my children. No office staff no maintanance either,,well now we got them back and for what its all the same, the office has no answers as for OUR HOT WATER,,ALL THEY SAY IS WE ARE WAITING FOR THE PLUMBERS TO COME, AND THEY NEVER COME. I HAVE CONTACTED HAA AND ARE WAITING ON THERE RESPONSE.”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I moved in this past November 08 and on my move in date, i get the keys to my apartment and it had not been cleaned. It was finaly cleaned and I had to move out starting at 8pm and had to turn in keys to my old apartment at midnight. I didnt get a chance to clean very well and my old complex kept most of my deposit for that. Since then I have had a broken window and one of my restroms out of order, keep in mind i moved in during November and it is now March. Among other things, this place sucks! DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“Does anyone know who the main company is that owns the complex or who you can send your opinion/concerns to? I am fed up with the way the office handles things like maintenance mainly and I would like to know who I can send my concerns to (even if nothing changes)? Help if you know who/where I can do this. Thanks!!”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“Their slogan is 'Raising the Standard of Living', maybe if you're a meth addict living in the back seat of your car. This place is absolute trash. I had tons of roaches big and small even though i kept my unit completely clean. Two dudes tried to break in through my front window in the middle of the afternoon. Air conditioning was broken and leaked into my bathroom and they told me it couldn't be fixed. It also had a 'smell' the day i moved in, probably since they repaint them twice a tear. You have to fight over narrow parking spots. Sweet hood parties at 2 am with loud music and people outside. This place is a dump. Oh yeah, never use the laundromat.”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“WHEN I FIRST CAME IN THE LEASING OFFICE THY MADE THEM SELF SOUND LIKE THERE WERE ALL FOR THERE RESIDENTS, NOW I KNOW THE WAY THEY ARE THEY DONT CARE ABOUT NOTHING EVEN IF YOU SOMETHING BREAKS THE MANTITENES DONT RETURN YOUR CALL WE WERE OUT OF HOT WATER FOR 3 WEEKS OFF AND ON AND IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE ,AND WE HAVES KIDS THEY DIDNT EVEN CARE. THEY ALWAYS LOUD MUSIC AND PEOPLE DRINKING OUTSIDE AND ITS JUST BAD I THINK THEY SHOULD GET ALL NEW STAFF I HOPE CORP SEES THIS AND LOOKS IN TO THIS SOMETHING GOTS TO GIVE, THATS ALSO WHY NO BODY EVER STAYS A LONG PERIOD OF TIME LIVING THERE TO MANY PROBLEMS AND NOT NOBODY LOOKING IN TO THIS”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“I have been here for about 6 months and I have so far liked it they have a new manager, office staff and even maintenance is new! I see the difference and I get everything done that I report it looks like they are cleaning up the property just wonderfully!!! I couldn't see myself anywhere else especially with the low price I got for the townhome!! But don't take my word for it just see for yourself.”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“i have been living here since 2005 and now i can't wait to get out. so far eacg summer we have had at least 1 black out and it can last from 1 day to several days. the front office just does not care. to get anything fixed you have to yell and then it still isn't done correctly. And the laundry forget it out of 6 washers only 3-4 work at at a time and it is the same for the dryers. They never clean it. And for the pool it has been closed all summer because they lost their permit and when it is open kids from the surronding apartments come and make it impossible for the actually residents to use it. You can complain to the front office as much as you want and they do nothing. And that includes people using drugs. You actually see pep[le smoking weed on their porch and nothing is done about it. find somewhere else to move these apartments are to expensive and not worth it.”
— 10580 Hammerly Blvd · Houston“These are the worst run apartments I know of. I've been trying to get a leaking rain gutter fixed/replaced since September 2007. All they have done is attempt to seal the rusted out seam 4 times and then they paid someone else to put a patch over it. It still has a steady stream of water running down on me as I try to enter my apartment when it rains. The manager has assured me that it's fixed, though. (see picture for proof) The last 3 days I have had no hot water so I can't wash dishes, do laundry or take a warm shower. The ace maintenance idiot came out and turned on the water in the sink to see if I was lying and then concluded there may be a problem with the boiler. He may be onto something there!! Unfortunately, he went to check it and I haven't seen him since. When you call the office with a problem, they are always pleasant as they lie to you. Unkept promises and outright lies are all I have gotten. There are abandoned cars in the lot and they say theose will be towed. Doesn't happen. More often than not, the gates on this "gated community" are inoperative so they stand open for anyone to enter. People who don't live or belong here wait at the exit gate for someone to leave so they can drive through before the gate closes. I would say that security could stop that, but there is NO security on the property. The low-lifes from the complex across the street walk over to use the swimming pool here and management doesn't see a problem with that either although they watch it happen right out the office window.”
