“Hidden Gem! I've been in Houston for over a decade now and lived in apartments the entire time, and this is by far the best. The service is great, the maintenance team is quick, responsive, and does a good job. They are pet friendly and have an alert security guard on the property after hours much of the time. They are pet friendly and we have great neighbors-- since I have been here, I have not even heard of any crimes on the property. The people here are working-class and good people. The kids love it, and not just because of the free donuts every Saturday morning... I feel safe allowing the kids to play outside. We plan to live here until we either get a house or move from Houston-- This is just the best apartment we've lived in for a very long time! I almost forgot, I have two kids and a dog and my neighbors have 6 kids and a dog-- but we almost never hear each other. The apartments are well insulated and in very good shape. The water pressure is good and the air conditioning doesn't drive-up the electricity bill too high. I simply love this place!”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“I have lived here for close to 5 years in 2 different units. These apartments are well kept for the most part. They try to update the units to keep competitive with the newer apartments in the area. The manager and leasing agent have worked here for as long as I lived here. They do really make an attempt at providing good customer service. Most repair requests are done the same day or by the next business day. Cheryl and Allison both try to get to know all the tenants which helps provide a sense of community. There have been times in which we had a difference in opinion, but once Cheryl understood the issue it was quickly resolved. The maintenance staff is also friendly and professional. If they are unable to complete your maintenance request in one visit, they will provide you with a timeline on which it will be completed. My neighbors are friendly but not too noisy or nosey. The only thing I would change is the price of the rent but compared to other rentals in the loop it is still affordable. So if you are considering renting in the Heights please check this complex out before settling somewhere else. Kim C”
“My wife and I moved here site unseen from Cali. The office staff was very nice and accomodating. We love our apartment. Everything was perfect. Thanks Woodside! Luba”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“The positive reviews on this site have obviously been written by the management. I have lived here for three years and will be moving when my lease is up. They repaired the roof of my bldg and my ceiling caved in causing destruction. When they FINALLY came to fix they patched it and it looks ------. My ceiling in my bathroom has a leak and is growing mold. I have told them several times and it still is not fixed. The railing on my balcony is peeling paint and I have a problem with roaches. The manager is extremely rude and unaccomodaring!! I hate this place!!!”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“My wife and I moved here about a year ago. Maintenance is awesome. You put in an order and he arrives about 1 hour later. The girls in the office have been extremely accomodating and very nice. It' s the best place to live in the Heights. Great location and no I don't work in the office. lol It's sad that people like the guy before me wrote such an awful email. Must be an ex employee. Because the truth is we are all happy at Woodside. At least my side of the property. Woodside Village Rocks. Thanks, JR”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“We moved here a month ago. We came from Colorado sight unseen. It was everything we hoped for. Great location. Everyone at the office was very welcoming. The apartment is great. A townhome with wood floors. The grounds are kept up well. Wonderful pool. Thanks Houston. It's good to be here. Sincerely, Sherry Little”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“Had this complex not tried to rip us off after our lease ended, I would have gladly left a positive review. Overall the location is great. Unfortunately once we left they refused to give us back our initial deposit including pet deposit. There was absolutely no pet damage. My pet has been properly trained. Claimed there was stains on the carpet in bedrooms when there wasn't any. They were looking for any excuse to keep our money.”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“My wife and I moved in a couple of month ago. We really like our apartment. It's everything we hoped it would be. We have wood. Kind of that lofty feel. We even have a dog park at the back of the property. During our move the office was very helpful and kind. We're proud of our new home. Thank you Woodside Village Staff for everything. Sincerely, Mr. & Mrs. Douglas”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“We have gone to Woodside Village and walked around the entire complex. The grass was freshly cut and the pool was super clean. We have been to quite a few apartment complexes across Houston and this is one of the nicer ones. The ladies in the office are friendly and knowlegable and that makes all the difference.”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“Well I have to say we have the best maintenance ever and we know he's not going anywhere now that he has a nice free 3 bdrm....ha....finally a maintenance guy that lives here. This guy is awesome. The office is awesome. We like our apartment. We live in a large townhome with wood. It's really a nice place to live. I would highly recommend Woodside. Thanks, The Roberts Residents now for 3 years....”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“LOVE LOVE MY APARTMENT! LOVE MANAGEMENT! LOVE MAINTENANCE! IT TAKES LESS ENERGY TO BE POSITIVE. THANK YOU WOODSIDE FOR ALWAYS TAKING CARE OF MY NEEDS! CANDACE WOODSIDE RESIDENT”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“Be sure to keep a copy of any and ALL documents you provide to the apartments when moving out because ------, the manager, will lie and say you did not provide the documents when you ask for a copy. And actually, she will not return your phone call or emails. I have a copy of what she is saying I didn't turn in to show her she is lying. She IS bi-polar and will also "decide" whether she wants to accept ups packages for you. If you make her mad, she will do everything to make your stay at Woodside Village unpleasant. I lived there for a year and there were more gunshots, fights, and a man screaming for help at 7am than anywhere I've ever lived. It is NOT a safe property and the parking situation is ridicules. When I moved in I listed 3 cars on my lease and when they decided to assign parking in the middle of my lease, all 3 bedroom apts could only have 2 cars inside the gate, even though there was a half empty parking lot at nights. And maintenance in my apartment never happened the entire time I lived there. They have ONE maintenance man for all units that does not live on property. Although he is a very nice man, there is WAY too much work for this old of an apartment building to have only 1 guy working. ALSO, THE WATER IS DISGUSTING & IT STINKS AND IS BROWN if you leave it off for more than a day. Do NOT drink the water here or give it to your pets. It is very unsafe. When the water kept being turned off, 5 times, ------ told me not to call the City of Houston because the apartment complex would get fined for something. Not sure what that was about but it didn't sound very good, as is to why I moved out early. The only good thing about the apartments is that she lets aggressive breed dogs live there including pit bulls and rottis. Guess that was the only plus.”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“I have lived at Woodside Village since early 2012 (almost 3 years now) and I love it. I work across the street and have recommended several of my coworkers the complex and they've moved in too. Apartment Pros: Spacious floor plan, washer dryer connections, dishwasher, tile floor, patio, central air, crown molding. The electric bill is super low due to the awesome low rate we get as we pay Woodside directly. No monthly pet rent. Apartment Cons: If you live on the 1st floor you can hear your neighbor's footsteps upstairs, but not the ones next to you. You do get the benefit of added insulation and lower electric bills though, so I'll take the trade off. Complex Pros: Two pools, nice little gym, doggie stations with bags, parking requires stickers so visitors can't take resident spaces, free breakfast for residents on Saturday. Complex Cons: Not all the pet owners use the bags but I've seen maintenance crew doing clean up regularly so it isn't too bad. Rents are going up because the Heights neighborhood is seeing increased demand. This isn't Woodside's fault, this is just a fact in Houston. These aren't brand new luxury units, so sometimes you have issues like leaks or whatever, but issues are repaired quickly. Again, this is to be expected with the reasonable price. Lastly, no visitor parking within the gates. Management Pros: Cheryl, Allison and the work crew are great. Maybe I'm an easy tenant because I pay my rent on time and I'm courteous with the staff, but everyone at the office treats me wonderfully. I've never witnessed anyone being mistreated either. All my work orders are taken care of on the day that I request them. We get monthly newsletters updating us on complex policies and encouraging residents to put requests in. I've also seen a huge improvement with Cheryl as the manager and Allison in the office. Exteriors are maintained, the massive parking problems were resolved by issuing stickers, the work crew is efficient, the gym got updated, and we got new pool furniture. I don't leave garbage out so I don't have insect problems, but I know that if I did I could ask the office to spray and it wouldn't be an issue. Overall, I have really enjoyed living here and I recommend it for professionals looking for a nice complex with good ameneties at a reasonable price.”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“Social Media...Apartment Ratings...just another social media to say un true things. Never facts. Only residents that are evicted or ex employees as the one below bashing the manager saying she is bi polar. Again, not true.... Do not patronize these kind of web sites. They are only for the non thinkers amusement. 99% of it IS NOT TRUE. President Obama went on National Television last night regarding these kind of web sites. AGAIN NOT TRUE...ONLY FOR AMUSEMENT....Do not buy into it...Visit these properties yourself. See with your own eyes.”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“I've lived her for over 7 years and so far this is the best manager we've had. Trust me we had a few bad ones before Cheryl. She really cares about people and is a real sweetheart. I know people get upset with her but they usually don't pay rent or some issue. She's got a tough job. The property has never looked better and I would like to add the current maintenance is the best so far!!!! Thank God that Nolan guy is gone. A little weird...Just saying. But thank you Woodside for making our home great! Sincerely, Brad Conner Resident”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“I love living at Woodside in the Heights. I work across the street and have referred several coworkers who live here as well. The apartments are spacious and reasonably priced. I have a washer and dryer hookup and dishwasher, but our awesome electricity deal means the utility bill is super reasonable. The parking used to be a huge headache because some residents were parking 3 - 5 cars here and visitors took up resident parking, but the management listened to the complaints and assigned parking stickers at the end of summer this year (2014) and since they did that I have been able to park near of my apartment every night. I moved in Feb 2012 and I have not had a single issue with the manager or the assistant. I am friendly to both ladies and I pay my rent on time so we all get along great. I've had maintenance requests over the years and every single one was fixed that day. We all get monthly newsletters letting people know the rules and bug spraying schedule. The office has offered to spray for me if I've ever needed it, but since I take my trash out regularly and don't leave food out I've never had a roach problem. I have never had either car broken into and I've seen a security guard doing rounds around the place at night. Good things/Improvements I've noticed just from when I first moved in to now: Improved fitness room, new pool furniture, doggie bag stations around the complex, parking stickers. The management does try. I'm surprised that there are angry reviews on here but most people enjoy living here and it seems like we are getting more professional neighbors and the prices in the Heights are rising, so so are rental costs. That's just the Houston market. If you can't afford it, don't live in the Heights. Woodside isn't the fanciest apartment complex, but it doesn't cost as much as a luxury place either. It's a good value for people wanting a clean, nice place to live within the loop.”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“I lived in this community for almost two years. The reason I lived here is because it's the only place I could afford in the area. It wasn't too bad looking. Although I hated the winter time when I couldn't get any hot water or my water was brown!!!! I remember seeing police officers walking around and then all of a sudden I saw security guards. I guess you get what you pay for because soon after that my car got broken into. As soon as my lease was over in March, I moved out. The manager wasn't too bad. It's true, she had her days when she was super moody, but I think it was just menoupause?? Anyway, if you have a few extra hundreds each month I'd suggest you find another complex, but if your money is tight, then this place is alright, but just remember you get what you pay for!”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“------ the manager is bi-polar. Catch her on a day when she has taken her meds and she is fine. Catch her on a day she is off the meds and she is rude, unprofessional, unreasonable and, well, a total you know what. I have lived here over 3 years so I have lots of experience with her; too many to relay. Get rid of her and it would be a great place to live.”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“I read the review before mine and all I have to say is the current manager is the best they have ever had. I've lived here over 7 years and the property has never looked better. Cheryl cares about everyone. She is a real sweetheart and we all love her. Keep up the good work, don't let someone get you down because they did not get their deposit back. You go!!!! Thanks for our great apartment!!!! George Beckett”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“Management is the WORST!. - is racist. I know this because she made racist comments to my face about African Americans! She is money hungry and will lie and cheat to keep her measley job! RUN FAR FAR AWAY!”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“My Husband and I just moved in Woodside Village. The staff made us feel very welcome. Our apartment is beautiful. We have wood floors. No pest. I hate bugs. But, we don't have any. The neighbors seem really nice. I've lived in alot of apartments but Woodside Village is one of the few that our move and apartment all went so smooth. We just want to thank all of the staff for making us feel so welcome. We plan to stay her a few years until we build our house. I would tell anyone. Yes move to Woodside Village. Sincerely, The Stanley's”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“I moved in about a year ago. I have wood floors. I really like my apartment. It's close to everything. As for the maintenance. If I need a repair they usually take care of it the same day. The office staff has always been really nice to me. I feel welcom when I go to the office. Other than that. I would say I recommend Woodside Village to anyone looking for a nice home. Thanks, Susan”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“I've lived here a while now. I have to say I was in the office today to pick up a package. I witnessed a resident going nuts on the manager. They gave a bad check and they were screaming profanity at her. So people if you think the manager is a loose canon. Lord I can see why. People are totally crazy. That poor girl. Anyway, I've lived here 2 years. I love my apartment. The maintenance responds quickly. The manager give her a break. She keeps the property really nice. Oh, I have wood too. It's beautiful. Not bad for the price. Great location.”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“I've been living here for a while, and I haven't had a terrible experience like other reviewers. I did have to solve my roach problem myself (although I was successful), and the parking situation is currently jacked, but it's a beautiful, spacious apartment with a balcony for a good price. My floors are wood laminate but you really can't tell it's laminate - it's beautiful. The community is quiet, people are respectful, and it feels safe enough to me - considering we are in the city, guys. Maintenance issues have been taken care of promptly. I won't live here forever, but I'll be here for at least a few years. The leasing office manager is a bit of a loose cannon, but I lay low and haven't had any problems. Remember - you get what you pay for, but I'd say this place is worth it for the price.”
— 2400 Hackett Dr · Houston“First of all, I would like to say I do not work at the office....lol I've lived at Woodside Village for 5 years now. I would like to add the the current Manager is probably the best person we've ever had here. My car has NEVER been broken into. And no one has pulled a knife on me except to hand me some of their BBQ from the pool...Ha!!! It's sad but I think people maybe get upset about the rules and such. They say things that just aren't true. But, that's cool because I know that for me Woodside Rocks. My Best To All of You!!!! Kevin Pitt..............That's right you know who I am....”
