“I lived at this place for 7 years and the last 2 years were the worst! - my apartment door was destroyed and it took over a month for them to repair it. I lived in constant fear that someone could come in at any point. Despite asking them over and over to do something about it. It took over a month and they just did a patchwork after that. - the living-room and bedroom windows broke after a severe rainfall, and same thing. They took months to fix it. I had to put cardboard and plastic on them so that the cold air ( winter ) could not get in. It was really bad. - the roaches issue is extremely bad! They " supposedly " called pest control conveniently when no one was there to check if it is true. And despite the supposed pest control work, the roaches issue was even worst than before. - I moved out 3 months ago and they still have not returned my deposit back. Every time I call them they end up hanging up on me. It has been 3 months and I am still asking for my deposit. Just do yourself a favor and find another place to live at. The Towne plaza apartment is not worth it at all. Please please, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.”

As the recipient of this junk mail, I have had enough of this out miserable property sending its promotional offers to consider it as a place to move to -- Rather than promote itself, it should focus on servicing its existing residents, fixing fences, handling security complaints, fixing water issues, and remodeling its condemnable units.”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“This was the last straw for me! I have lived here going on two years and just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse they did. This morning I tried to get out my front door and my lock stripped. I called the emergency maintenance number several times no answer. The guy finally answered to tell me the office opens at 8 and hangs up on me and not answers the phone. I had to unscrew the window and have her grandfather pass her through the window. These apartments are a horrible! The lights have been out for months they put two spot lights but not light the porches or stairwells. I have had a water leak for months that has been repaired 4 times to still be leaking and now is molded.! Roaches and gnats are a problem I have asked to get on a pest control list hasn’t happened! I have Evette come to my apartment screaming at my doorbell camera asking when I’m paying my rent only to be at the wrong apartment and walk away. I have had the office call me about adding somebody to my lease which I never called to do. I have complained on my neighbor dog who barks and whines all night waking my baby up nothing has happened! They use cheap contractors who left dirty toilets in the parking lot for days! I could go on and on. Run away from these slums! I’m just grateful it wasn’t a fire or any other emergency!”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“I moved in at the right time. Towne Plaza Apartments is under new ownership and new management. Couldn't ask for a better place to live. This is a genuine review. I wanted something safe, convenient and clean. This apartment is a five-star complex. The convenience of 610, 59 and the Westpark Tollway makes it easy to get where you are going. 10 to 15 minutes and you are downtown. Towne Plaza Apartments is a wonderful location. The move-in was handled very smoothly and efficiently. The leasing office staff were very helpful and handled things in a timely manor. They always make me feel at home. Lots of amenities here, i.e., computer room, conference room, gym, pools and very nice, large laundry rooms. One of the finest managers I've ever met. Quick response from a fully staffed maintenance team. Beautifully landscaped gardens. I've lived in luxury apartments and I'm delighted to be here.”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“Extremely slow at getting things repaired, especially air conditioning. Forget the laundry room! The air has been out for several months, been reported numerous times and they don't care! It Feels Like 105 outside and 110-115 inside the laundry facility. Numerous water leaks, always shutting off water to all buildings. The gutters at the top of buildings overflow like a waterfall and even comes in where it is covered. The parking lot/garage flood with water if it rains 2 inches an hour. A lot of cars have been flooded AND totaled, but they will not inform potential residents of flooding nor of the murders that have happened on this property. The apartments are super out of date with appliances in most units (vent hood included) that date back to 1967 when they were built. They charge rent by what other apartments are renting for in the area, they just don't get it that those apartments are newer AND more amenities, but since they tack Luxury Apartments on their name they can charge as much or more than everyone else. I'm ready to get the Hell out of here.”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“Do yourself a favor and choose a different place. These apartments are anything else but not luxurious - they are nasty, smelly, and you will see mold growing around your windows due to the poor isolation of windows and doors. Further, you will see roaches on a regular basis (you may be the cleanest person, they will find their way into your apartment, and I’m talking about those nasty huge roaches). Good luck falling asleep after knowing that you have roaches in your bedroom. Next, leaks and raining in the apartment is something that at Towne Plaza is normal and the management will take 6 months to fix this issue because it doesn’t seem like something that’s urgent enough to be taken care of asap. If you depend on the washing machines from the laundry room then you are completely screwed. Be ready to spend 30-45 minutes just to get to wash your clothes because either none of the washing machines is working or none is available. If you have nothing else to do with your precious time than to spend it at the laundry room, then you should be fine. Moreover, when I moved in, the apartment smelled like dead rats until I found out it’s actually the air conditioner that causes the smell. The issue still persists up to the present time because apparently no one knows what to do about this. It could be mold and it could bring extreme risks and dangers to your health. Yet, at Towne Plaza no one seems to care. Next, be prepared to have a water shutdown on a weekly basis, and have nasty brown water coming from your shower. Next, management and staff, if you have issues that don’t seem convenient to them, they might just hang up on you because they don’t feel like dealing with you or they will just be very rude. I moved from Germany, and I had the image of America being one of the most modern and cleanest countries in the world, if not the one! Well, certainly that image has changed, because living at Towne Plaza feels like living in a third world country. I actually lived in various parts of the world, among them in four different third world countries and nowhere have I ever experienced what I’ve experienced at this place. With this in mind, stay away!”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“DO NOT RENT HERE!! I lived there for two years on the third floor. The elevator did not work on many occasions and I would be left to climb up and down 3 flights of stairs with groceries, etc. and down with trash to the long road to the dumpster. The management was not honest with me when I look back, to so many things. I really don't want to drag up all the things about the management, I really think they were just doing what they knew they could get away with and maybe that's how they keep their job's. That said, it's a very shady place in the sense that you are in the dark about a lot of things like the water issues coming - shut down's all the time - undrinkable water, brown and rusty. The place it's self: full of what I believe to be mold, or other spore born disease, I became very ill after the 6 months I never have had symptoms like I did when I lived there and still recovering. Look up what mold can do to you. Roaches gallore!! They come out of the wall socket's even and end up in the refrigerator. It's a literal nightmare. I had on more that one occasion a roach crawl across me while I was sleeping and it woke me up. I think I have a form of PTSD from living here for 2 years, for me, it was a very dark and dismal place to live. I know that some people have been there for years and they like it - I assume that their experience was not as bleak as mine due to whatever circumstances.”

— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“By far the worst apartment I lived in. The repair guys are never on time to make repairs, probably due to the fact that the units are so old, they probably have things to fix everyday. The leasing office is consistently rude and untruthful. Worst experience as a renter I've had by far.”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“I won't lie the beginning of my stay here started out smooth. The office seemed to be somewhat helpful. After a few months of being here, the bugs, the mice, the maintenance requests take forever to be completed, the plumbing is always off because of repairs, any time it rains the whole parking lot floods, it smells like sewage everywhere, the gates were always breaking (what's the point in having them if they never work?), and even the staff began to become a bit condescending. I started having trouble with a roommate stealing my belongings and bringing animals into the apartment that weren't allowed and when I went to them for help they just made the entire situation worse, told me I'd have to pay for my roommate's animal violation if she didn't get all her animals out within 3 days, so I had to just move out. Then when my roommate left her dog in the apartment unattended for 3 days (I had already moved out and notified them of this via email & photos) they emailed me and said I'd be charged with animal neglect if the dog wasn't gone by the end of the day! I'm not even there, nor are my belongings in the apartment and they have not been since January 18th and I'm still paying rent just to avoid a broken lease. My rent also was just jacked up $400 and I don't know why but I don't even care anymore I just want out of this lease. I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Definitely am never coming back to this hell hole. Can't wait to make my last rent payment so I can just be done with this place.”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“STAY AWAY!!!! I lived here for 2.5 years. When I moved from my first unit to another unit I was told by several members of the office team that my pet fee would transfer but not the pet deposit. However, once I moved out completely I get a mystery pet fee (collected but not charged, applied to rent). No one in the office was able to explain this fee, what collected but not charged meant when I showed them the money was taken out of my checking account and lastly when it was applied to my rent (because it never was!). After going back and forth with their poorly trained staff I finally talked to corporate. They told me a new pet fee should have been charged for every unit I lived in (expect when I moved due to a damaged roof). Corporate could not explain why their staff was so untrained in their policies that they gave me incorrect information several times regarding the pet fee. Also when I asked if I could see their pet fee transfer policy they could not provide it to me. Only refereed to pet agreement when I moved in and it says nothing about transferring to a different unit. When Harvey hit the ceiling in my apartment got several large water spots. I informed management but they said they couldn't do anything until corporate gives them more money. By January the water spots turned into mold. I went to the office and told me about this before work and gave them permission to INSPECT the damage. When I returned from work (after office hours) I found several large holes in my ceiling, water leaking from the ceiling, tarps everywhere including my bed. I called the after hours support and was told there was nothing they could do until morning. I took this to mean they didn't care that they made my apartment uninhabitable without telling me! The next day they did offer to put me up in a hotel (out of my own pocket until they can take the cost out of my rent). That first night was miserable due to their lack of communication. Every time Houston gets a little bit of rain all the parking lots will flood and the walkways will have large amounts of standing water (my shoes were always soaked). Water to the unit is always getting turned off for repairs.”

The worst response rate, I will never again send my clients to this apartment complex as they are unprofessional management and stuff.”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“I have lived at Towne Plaza Apartments for 8 plus years and I have seen 5 management teams come and go with the passage of this time, I want to say first and foremost that the current property management and staff is the best that I've seen since coming to live at This property. Towne Plaza is a terrific place to live you could not ask for a better location and again the current management staff has been very proactive in making every effort to ensure the safety of the residents and to attend to the maintenance of this property. I watch it every day and am amazed in the effort that is put forth in this respect as again I have lived here for 8 plus years and will probably always live here as this is as good as it gets staff wise. The property I believe was built in the early 70's and the apartments in their design reflect this, so it's not like most of the newer apt. Communities, but that in & of itself isn't a bad thing on the contrary I believe it lends itself to more of a community vibe and in this respect I feel like the folks that are my neighbors are my Lifeboats as we have a unique community connection. Do yourself a favor and put this apartment community first on your list if you are looking for a great place to live!!! Sent from my iPhone”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“I thought I hit gold with this complex. Under $1000 per month inside the loop?? Unheard of! First the entire wall of my closet flooded at the first rain. I was told the property including the parking area never floods, definitely a lie. I even lost a vehicle. My unit has had leaks at least 5 different time and in varying degrees. The power flickers, the water temperature is uncontrollable, the water itself is discolored, appliances are old... the biggest problem is the management. They don't communicate with each other so the only way to get correct information is to talk to the same person every time. Otherwise they no nothing and are not helpful. I needed to ask 3 and 4 times for the same thing. Very frustrating to deal with. The positives... location, large patio, pretty property, fireplace in unit...”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“We've lived here for almost two years, family with two young kids. Pretty much the perfect residents; we keep things clean, are communicative with office and kind to neighbors. Town Plaza has friendly staff but they turned over too quickly; we loved staff who were here a year ago; they knew our kids' names and really cared. Very personable and quick with problems. Current staff is professional but not as welcoming or helpful with problems; have the PR "fake" vibe. Instituted things like free breakfasts or wine night, when what residents really want is a safe space and continually water supply. Frequent complaint is that hot water and often ALL water is turned off 3-4 times a month, due to burst pipes and boiler problems. With young kids and staying at home this means we often don't have water for 12 hours/day, several times a month. Company should invest in its facilities, or remove the name "luxury" if this is a continually problem. Second complaint is that there is no security on a dark street. Gate has a code but there have been several car robberies and assaults in the past year, including one shooting (Google Towne Plaza shooting). According to management (when we complained about lack of security), shooting was a resident defending themselves from known intruder; should still pay to have security guard or camera surveillance in parking lot and on grounds at night, especially on a somewhat secluded and dark street. We loved this complex a year ago, and I would have given it 5 stars then; the past year with change in management and a decrease in safety and water supply, we are glad to be moving this summer, especially since we have two young kids.”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“Honestly, when I read the reviews, I dont know what people are seeing. This place is awesome. Its clean. Its safe. Sure there are minor things that can be worked on. But overall, you can't be the location. Its not a place you can walk and get to places. But, if you are driving you are 10 minutes from everything. Megan is freaking AWESOME. When I moved here from Chicago four months ago, she worked diligently to see I got in hear. The ladies there never have attitudes. Always greeted nicely by then. I have seen some tree bugs. Other than that no roaches. I would recommend this place to anyone without a problem.”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“I have lived at Towne Plaza for 4 months now. I am contemplating breaking my lease to find a cheaper place to live perhaps further from the city. My experience here has not been absolutely horrible but it has also not been ideal. I fully believe the buildings are infested with roaches and you can have pest control come whenever requested, however I have had multiple instances of asking for pest control and them not showing up. I've had a few minor maintenance requests surrounding A/C, and garbage disposal issues. Mike is very nice and pretty prompt -- even in the middle of the night. The ladies in the office are always polite and respectful. I have never received an attitude from any of them in the many interactions I've had over the last 4 months. I'm new to Houston so I"m not sure of what other places are like but as a single woman I feel extremely safe at this property and my neighbors are kind and courteous. When the big flood happened in April many of them were helping each other out. I think when it comes to finding an affordable apartment you have to take the good with the bad. There are some things that will go well and some that will not, you just have to decide what you can tolerate. Towne Plaza is in a prime location with easy access to 59 & 610. Also the upkeep of the property itself is stellar. I see them working on the grounds almost every day trying to maintain the landscape. Overall I'm okay with my decision to stay at Towne Plaza, I'm certain there far worse places to live.”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“Do not stay here!! It is a nasty place with horrible management. The facilities are in bad condition, the place is overrun with bugs, litter is everywhere, the water is brown and shut off all the time for "maintenance", and the walls are thin and the neighbors are noisy. The parking lots and street flood badly when it rains. There are also numerous apartment and car break-ins. I never feel safe here and the lighting is also bad outside at night. If you stay here, get a PO box so your mail and packages don't get stolen. Management will not even help with serious safety issues making people sick. I can't wait to leave when my lease is up!”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“My husband and I lived here for about 4 years. Towne Plaza had it's goods and bads. The area is great, we were about 5 miles from anything we needed. Kroger nearby, good restaurants, and it's pretty close to 59, so getting on the highway was pretty easy. We were students at UH, and the apt. are 8.5 miles away. 20 drive w/o traffic 40 min with. In regards to safety, the complex is alright. The building is gated, but parking is not. There is also a lot of street parking. The gates would occasionally not lock or get stuck opening. My husband did have his catalidic (sp?) converter stolen off his car. that's the only problem we had. Noise: we lived on the second floor, and really didn't have any problems. The only other thing on the street than the apartments is a Houston Chronicle building...so not much traffic. The only noise that bled through the walls was our downstairs neighbor's speaker system. and it wasn't too bad. When we moved in, our carpet, and appliances were all new. Our carpet go dirty very fast. That may be on us though. When we moved out, we thoroughly cleaned out our apartment to get our deposit back. We had to leave the city before they were able to inspect, but I think there was maybe $10 we didn't get back. So I was very relieved and thankful we were not taken advantage of. The office staff was pretty great, they knew our names and were friendly. Maintenance was great too, the head of maintenance was really good about fixing things, usually. The big problem we had was that our tub started peeling, we went to the office literally 5 or 6 times and put it in their system. It wasn't fixed until we happened to talk to head of maintenance itself.... and then it was fixed almost immediately. It was very aggravating while we were waiting. Bugs also tended to be a problem. For about 2 winters in a row we would get A LOT of ants. In the bathroom, not kitchen or anything. They were living in our sink. They spray for bugs regularly but it is still a problem on occasion. Once going into the office, the ant problem went away fairly quickly. We also got roaches a bit in the Springs. It is possible that we may have gotten more bugs because we had two outside walls instead of one. I hope this helps. Pros and Cons, but you can't beat location! Price is a little much and increased as we went.”

I called Tawana, the manager and ask her to explain. She ask me to just visit the site and write a review. I have read many of the reviews of Towne Plaza and wonder if I lived at a different place? I have lived at Towne Plaza for 8 years and only leave to purchase my first home. I have seen many office personal come and go but they have all been polite and professional. Even though I did receive a portion of my deposit back, the charges were fair. Yes Towne Plaza is an older complex but it's amazing how nice it is. The maintenance guy Mike, is great and he has been there for at lease the 8 years I was there. I understand when people are angry and want to "avenge their wrong" it is most certainly not been my experience. I have been through many maintenance problems over the years but they were handled immediately with a smile. Please do not let the obvious "rants" spoil the good name of the complex or the staff. I'm sure if your called and ask Tawana, the manager she would answer any questions. I found her door to always be open or see her around on the complex.”

— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“I am a non-student, non employee, young professional who has lived here for 5 months. Here is a list of my issues with this place both bad and good. Yes, this place is old so I'm not gonna complain about any of the old appliances/outdated fixtures. CONS: -moldy bathroom ceiling upon move in. -puke/dead animal smelling carpet upon move in. (still wouldn't dissapear after shampoo) -marks in fake granite countertop covered up with Sharpie. -parking can be a hassle at nights and especially on weekends. -car window bashed in while parked on street. -AC unit is super loud and doesnt cool efficiently in living room. -People go to workout room, sit on benches and just surf the web on their tablet/laptop. -Some dryers in laundrymat dont work properly so you have to run it TWICE, wasting $. -pot smoking neighbors that stink up hallway. **WORST THING**: The ceiling is paper thin and the woman upstairs neighbor STOMPS around her apartment back and forth all the time. It actually shakes my apt. Louder than anything i've ever experienced. Its literally non-stop for at least 2 hours at times. Who does that? The ceiling is actually starting to crack/cave in and seems like its gonna collapse any day now. She used to wake up at 4am and stomp but I complained to mgmt and now its 6am. They told me they would work to fix her floor/my ceiling but nothing has been done and its getting louder. PROS: -The price of the apt for the area -The relative size of apt you're getting for the price -Not too many people go to pool or gym at once so you can have it all to yourself sometimes. -Location -A roof over your head So as you can see, the Cons far outweigh the Pros. Its a somewhat adequate place to live for those trying to save some money and still live near the city. There's people from all races living here as well as many older people. Recently it seems like alot of out of state newbies. In closing, there are better places you can get inside the loop for the same price as long as you look hard enough. P.S. I would like to note that I do not hate this apt complex nor have some sort of agenda towards them. I am simply stating everything that I have experienced thus far in living here with the hopes that it can help give some additional insight to potential dwellers.”
— 4655 WILD INDIGO ST UNIT 260 · Houston“I have lived at this property for a little over a year and its honestly sad the things people write on here. Ill be honest and say there have been several issues with my apartment, but they have always been taken care of in a timely fashion. People need to understand this is an old property and things happen... But considering its age towne plaza has been a great home. Maybe the students assigned here should transfer somewhere else if there's so many issues since this was a quiet property until recently. I have never been asked or felt like I needed to pay something out of pocket. The office staff has always been friendly and taken care of whatever I needed. I've witnessed first hand how rude and disrespectful some of the new student residents are towards the office staff so don't take it personally when ur treated the same way in return. No one wants to be nice to people that party at the pools till 2 am on a weeknight or break multiple locks because u can't figure out how to use a key. Towne plaza may not be a high end property but its a nice place to call home and I hope people learn for themselves and not let these reviews cloud their judgement.”
