“When I first moved into this apartment I thought it was great. It was $550/month and you just had to pay electricity. I moved in in the winter and everything was fine until the summer came. I live in an upstairs apartment and come to find out the insulation is very very minimal. My electricity bill was $168. This is for a 1 bedroom 700 sq ft apartment. Not to mention, I keep the ac at 80 degrees at all times. My rate is 12.4/kw after all the charges. They are VERY strict with their rules, they don't allow any leeway so make sure you do everything the way you've said you would and at the exact right moment. If you make a mistake, they don't care what the situation is they will not let you our of whatever error you have made. The management is nice at first, until you move in. The maintenance is usually pretty quick, I can't complain about that, and the maintenance guy John is a really really nice guy. When you try to talk to Treva, if you have a problem/concern about something that isn't on her agenda she gets very upset. I asked her for the owner of the property and she refused and said I wasn't allowed to speak to anybody above her, only her. I had to give it to her in writing before she finally told me and then it was just a fax number not an actual number. There have been lots of roaches in the apartment, and that's not even the worst part. I live on the second floor and one night my husband went to open the cabinet and there was a HUGE rat in the cupboard! OH they are also starting to make you pay for every single bill-water, gas, electric, trash..everything. The apartments are OLD OLD and outdated. Our bathtub looks like they painted over it with regular paint and it started peeling...and everytime you take a shower it starts peeling more and more. The place is a decent size for the price and the location is not bad. The church next door always has a lot of activities going on and they can be quite loud as well as the neighbors behind us. We've had to go out there a couple of times to ask them to quiet down.(The neighbors behind us) Oh, and you're right by the train tracks so you ALWAYS hear the trains all during the night.”
