Unkept, dirty, and unsafe. Office staff keep promising a cleaning company to clean the floors week after week but nothing has been done. Trash everywhere, cars broken into and rent increases without fixing current issues.

Extremely rude and unprofessional leasing staff, my apartment issues are often met with eye rolls and responses like “What do you expect me to do about it?” Multiple car break ins, trash overflowing in the halls, huge roaches, extremely loud music very late in the night & the list goes on. Save yourself multiple headaches and run from this poorly managed community.

I have lived in this complex since 2016, it was called the Slate when I moved in and this is my 4th and last apartment that I am renting. I have given notice and I have decided not to renew my lease for several reasons mainly due to safety issues and the lack of upkeep throughout the property. The first property management staff for this complex was Greystar and they did a fantastic job and that is why I originally agreed to move into this high end complex. I never had any issues in the beginning of my stay, I would say for the first 2 years, everything was great and the management team did everything they could to create a wonderful community and I would recommend anyone interested in renting to find a Greystar led apartment complex as this property has gone down hill since the original team left. The new management team does not do anything about issues around the property, including the gas grill not working, issues with loud noises and parties at the pool, issues with security and issues with car being broken into. Ours was broken into many times and nothing was done about it and they did not even offer to help us out, it was all our problem and what bothers me is that there are supposed to have security cameras but those do not work. What was the last issue that made us make a final decision was that there was a shoot out very close to our apartment and the shooters used armor piercing bullets. Our apartment was right there on the 2nd floor and we could have easily not been here today to write this review and it is important to let others know that it does not make sense to pay high end apartment living expenses to then deal with issues like these. The shooting occurred and even though we had brought up the issues of marijuana smell and questionable people coming in and out of the area we live in, nothing was done. Even after the shooting, and one of the involved individuals had jumped out of a window and there was broken glass and blood around one of the pool that was shut down for a week, we received an email from management saying it was an isolated incident and no one was hurt. That is a lie and we could not believe that they just said that and did not do anything else about it. The bigger issue is that there were many police officers and swat teams at the complex, they had torn 3 doors down on the 2nd floor and we could see big bags of drugs on the kitchen counter and the email sent to us said that it was not a big issue. Sadly after this occurred there was still no police presence in and around the apartments and we heard from our neighbors that the people who were involved tried to come to the complex to look for their stash. I am not happy with all this. I am a professional working from home and I do not want to be in an environment and expose our family and friends to a place like this. I wrote a lot of details as I think it is important to understand that for the price that these apartments are renting at, this place is not worth it, the security and facilities do not meet the high standards and everything looks good from the outside when one comes in to visit the complex but you end up paying these inflated prices then will get frustrated after. They also charge everyone $35+ each month, this is mandatory, for valet trash but a lot of time the trash is not picked up and we have to walk down to drop off the trash and we still have to pay this fee, it cannot be waived if we decide to take our trash out. So besides the rent you have to pay for this service regardless whether you want to use it or not. Anyway I know this is a very long review, but I wanted to make sure the details are there so the person reading this can make the best decision for themselves. Thanks!

When I moved here in 2019 I loved it and I adored the staff in the office. Maintenance was and always is top notch. The noise from I-10 is frustrating but no fault of the property. In the last year, we've seen a dramatic change around this property. Familiar, friendly, helpful staff have departed and been replaced with rude and unengaged people. I would tend to say that newer residents seem to be lacking in common courtesy as evidenced by the late night noise in the hallways, trash on the ground in the parking garage, hallways, sidewalks and other common areas have increased, loud music coming from apartments and the pool area. We've had instances of topless women at the pool as well (and not ones you'd want to see topless). The increase in crime in incredible - we literally had a shootout on the second floor of the property in March 2021. The smell of marijuana permeates throughout the entire complex including the parking garage and stairwells and occasionally infiltrates my own home from my neighbors across the hall. The business manager of the property informed earlier today that nothing can be done about it. One of the amenties of this property is a fairly decent dog park which is directly across from my apartment. While I have noticed an effort to keep the area cleaner than it has been for the last several months, they refuse to empty the waste containers on a daily basis in order to avoid the stench of dog feces wafting from that area and unfortunately to any of the apartments facing the park. Addtional fees include Valet Trash Service which is approximately $38 per month for trash pick up fives days a week. Be careful to not put your trash out before the approved time and make sure to bring your can back in before 8 am otherwise you'll receive a lease violation. Three violations and you are subject to eviction. The shining stars at this property are the maintenance employees. They're personable, always friendly and smiling and they get the job done quickly. Israel, Ismael and the others deserve recognition. I'm not sure of the age of this property but it's fairly new with trendy interiors. A recent carpet upgrade to my apartment was done with a much lower quality product. The padding is nearly non-existant and the new carpet is overall very cheap feeling and looking compared to what was removed. I expect that as upgrades are done, lower quality materials will become the norm while rental rates are increasing. I'd like to see appropriate action in response to major lease violators versus what seems to be attacks on long term residents who just want what we pay for.

Usually trash outside and no security for cars which are broken into on a regular. They will tow your visitors car in a heart beat and charge for services that they suspend for days but you still pay.

The staff here is great - maintenance, cleaning, and office! I've had no problems working with anyone to address an issue, receive services, etc. The amenities make life so much easier! Having a package hub saves me so many headaches, the dual pool set up is very convenient, the garage has ample parking, and the small convenience store saves me so many times each month. I feel relatively safe in this complex, which is saying something for any apartment complex in a major city. It's easy to know your neighbors at least by sight, and everyone is friendly and polite. I like that the staff puts together community events for us. I personally miss most of them due to my work schedule, but I would love to be at those any time I'm free and home. :-) The only real issue I see is whoever lets their pet poo in the hallway and then doesn't clean it up. That is disgusting and unacceptable, but I am not sure how much the office can do. It has most definitely been decreasing, and I hope it continues to decrease until it never happens! An improvement that could be made is with sound proofing. I can hear noise coming from every side of my apartment as well as above me. I'm on the first floor, so no one is below. I assume everyone has this issue, so the next time renovations are done I hope soundproofing in the walls and between floors will be considered as an upgrade.

Run a way from this place .Management sucks in here big time. They have been working on fixing business office for over a year now. On the amenities they listed business office as one of them, but that haven't been available for over a year . Apparently, they are fixing it . Give me a break!!! For as much as they charge for the rent in here, this should be fixed long time ago. Management keeps lying about things in general . The gate remotes do not work . This place is turning into ------. There were three robbery charges on here so far . I am sure there is more to come. Run a way from here !!!

Very Unhappy Resident. Very dishonest and incompetent managers. Very loud pool parties. Big Roaches. Terrible parking. Strangers lurking property. Lots of marijuana smoking. Grills are dirty. Furniture filthy

I moved into the Slate, the month after the property opened. I have lived at the property for 3 years; my apartment is infested with roaches. The hallways are filled with marijuana & it's terrible. The management is changing again!! What will this company do? Clean up the vomit or spray the roaches? Folks pick another property

I love living in this apartment complex. It's always very clean and well kept, but the only thing is the noise at night or on the weekends. The staff sends out emails about keeping noise down, but nothing is ever actually done about it. I've complained about neighbors playing music so loud all throughout the day and night to where is shakes stuff off my wall and they always say they will take care of it, but they never do; it still hasn't changed to this day. Same with the pool area, when I can hear people's music over my tv and feel the bass in my unit, it's too loud. I work early in the morning, so it's annoying.
