I go to the University of St. Thomas and I lived here briefly during my undergrad and now i'm back doing Grad school living in Majestic. I take a bus to school and am in Uptown in about 20 minutes. I like the closeness to the active Galeria/Post oak area. Park is sketchy after dark and parking is limited, but I am a lot closer than before and am paying hundreds less than apartments nearby which is good enough for me.

Great interior! Love the granite counter tops and big closets. Really like the closeness to the city. I'm seriously considering this place for my boyfriend and I.

I go to the University of St. Thomas and I lived here for part of my undergraduate studies then came back to Majestic for Grad School. I take a bus to school and am in Uptown in about 20 minutes. I love the closeness to the nice Galleria/Post Oak area. I am much closer than I was before and I feel closer to the city. Some plumbing issues and laundry issues, but now that I have come back, I haven't experienced any problems. To what I understand, this is an old complex that was renovated, so the infrastructure isn't perfect, but for hundreds less than surrounding apartments you can live in this nice small community.

*Now Called Majestic Apartments Please DON'T be swayed by the reviews of troublemaker tenants that have been kicked out. If you look up the building that was here before, it was built in the 60's! So don't expect much room for parking 3 cars and resort style pool because it just is not that type of property. But it is exactly what I was looking for, a private and safe place to live. It is a RENOVATED complex, but it's a small property, so there are less high end amenities. The management really takes care of this place. They follow their policies very closely, which some people complain about, but I like because it makes me feel that they keep a safe and order environment for my child. I'm very comfortable in these apartments.

Long-term resident: I lived here with my boyfriend for four years and would like to give my feedback. As everyone knows that as you get closer to the city, the more expensive and smaller the areas and complexes get. That being said, I believe this is the best value for your dollar. Now, as the outside may not look too pleasing the inside is what matters. As you enter the complex you will come across a courtyard which is a good place for family visits and grilling when the weather permits. You may see the tenants kids playing around too. The only way to access the complex is through the parking gate with a remote or the access code given to every tenant which is changed throughout the year to make sure that old tenants are not permitted in without permission. Now being that it is a small complex of only forty tenants, you may feel like parking is small, but they work with what they are given and give each tenant one parking space. This was difficult at times for my boyfriend and I, but we did make it work for us. There is also a community laundry service, which is only as clean as the people who use it, so you know how that goes, but the machines worked and were kept running by management. INSIDE THE APARTMENT: We had a two bedroom, one bath apartment which was great, with granite countertops and woodfloors. The master bedroom had so much space and did I mention I had a walk in closet, which could fit a whole twin size mattress! This was a great addition as well as the granite countertops because most apartments you only see laminate. We did own a dog, which was allowed, and he loved to go to the park and see all the kids and everyone playing soccer or tennis. This was a great and convenient place for us to be able to access downtown, midtown and the galleria. There are many choices for restaurants and small french bakery not too far as well. MAINTENANCE/FLOODING: Management does a good job of trying to meet your request the best as possible. Being it was an old buidling before but was renovated, there will be problems that exisit like any complex. If you know that or have lived anywhere else things dont majically get fixed, so patience is needed, but they do try to attend to your request the best possible. Houston is known for flooding especially during the rainy seasons. The galleria area does get quite a bit of rain, so there is precaution during this time. The buidling management does put up flyers for weather conditions and to prepare for preventive measures. Being that the area is flat, it does accumulate water, but management does the best it can with the resources available to get you prepared to get your belongings off the ground beforehand with the flyers put up. This is not something complex can fix, it is the way the area is built and many complexes around this area encounter this especially the working buidlings and even the Galleria. Overall, this was a great starter place for my boyfriend and I to save some money and still be close to all the attractions that we loved to be by on our weekends off. I would recommend this place for anyone who is looking to still have their cake and eat it too, meaning be in an area thats desired, but not pay too much for it.

To lived in this wonderful place for one year and could enjoy the tranquility and comfort that feels there. When you arrive you feel great security. I loved it because it has all access nearby Galleria, 610, 59 and 8, all pathways. The other tenants are very friendly and welcoming. This remodeling and change management was all a great success.

***WORTH THE ENTIRE READ, DETAILED*** Found this place as I was on my way to another apartment and got lost. At first I liked that it was so small and kind of hidden away. When you walked in it was very quaint and simple. The apartments enclose a courtyard that rarely anyone occupies, except a few kids running here or there during the day. Everyone kind of stays to themselves but are pleasant in greeting you on frequent encounters because it's such a small community (40 max?) . You may not get to know every person there, but you will at least know your neighbors and the busy bees that are out and about often. *PARKING* You only get one assigned parking spot. The spaces are straight so you better hope your neighbor can either park or doesn't have a huge truck/SUV. It can become challenging to get in and out sometimes. The gate is controlled by a clicker and has worked 90% of the time so that is nice. If you have friends visit, it is always a headache for them to park. Only six spots out front and they are usually filled. If you park at Anderson Park, there is a high risk of getting towed, and possible risk of getting broken into. There are a lot of shady deals, drugs or whatnot going on in that park. Even if you have a two bedroom, you still only get one spot so keep this in mind. *MAINTENANCE* There is an on-site laundry facility, but I had many problems with the old machines being out of order, taking your money, or sometimes just being dirty with sand and other contaminants from inconsiderate tenants. It was a toss-up whether it'd work or not but if you were patient and found a good time to do laundry, it could get done on-site for basic washes. When things went wrong in my apartment I wouldn't say they were super fast with fixing it, but they did take care of requests if you asked them nicely. A lot of the time communication was difficult because they predominately spoke Spanish. They have an online service request you can do, but it's better to walk 10-40 steps and just go to the office. The huge issue I could never get fixed was with my water being dirty. I would constantly scrub the bathtub, toilet, and sink in the restroom when I first moved in and it would always brown again. I complained about it constantly and near the end of my stay, they finally did a massive overhaul where they changed the "old plumbing" on the grounds. Full apartments were closed. Two days after my lease was over I came back to speak to my neighbor and my apartment was demolished on the insides. The other MASSIVE problem with this place is flooding. Since you're enclosed in a courtyard, it would have standing water with any small amount of rain. When it poured, there would be standing water in the foyer and parking lot. ONCE, when Houston got heavy rain, the entire place flooded where 2-3 inches of water ruined all of the bottom apartments, including mine. Cars couldn't stay in the parking lot because all the ditches were filled and your car would have gotten flooded. It was a disaster and I literally called the place Majestic Lake after that for months because it was embarrassing how bad things were handled. I'm not sure if the new plumbing has fixed these two "water" issues but that alone is worrisome because Houston gets a lot of unpredictable weather. They eventually replaced the foam under my carpet, but never my carpet so hello mildew and mold. =( Not good for allergies. *NOISE* As I said most people are to themselves and middle class workers. Some have children and you will hear them playing right outside your door and windows, but they aren't bad. On certain afternoons when weather is nice, the park will reach full capacity with families playing soccer matches and all kinds of activities. Every now and then, you will have whole baseball games going on too with leagues. Across the park there is a huge patio type bar that will play loud music on karaoke nights or weekends, but it's a distant thumping more than anything. Not much car traffic unless they are getting their vehicles repaired at one of the many shops around you. *GROUNDS* The parking lot was kept and so was the foyer for the most part. The front entrance had a security coded door for the entrance into the foyer area which was neat. There are cameras everywhere but it felt intrusive more than it did safe. Landscaping inside was simple with a few brushes, some orange trees, and some mulch. On rainy days, sometimes the mulch would float to your door, but they'd usually clean it up soon after. Garbage pickup is once a week and each half of the place gets one garbage can. There are garbage cans in the foyer next to the grills that rarely anyone uses. I loved how close you were to the Galleria and 59/610 or Westpark to get anywhere in the city very quickly. *SAFETY* Again, there is a camera system but I'm not sure how helpful it is. I never felt unsafe once I was inside, but I felt like my car and friends cars might have been, especially if they were parked outside. Every now and then you could stand by the parking gate and watch some shady deals go down across the street, or watch as the cops stake out the place. I think they did a decent job of keeping bad folks away, but there were things that still went on. There were some times where gun shots would go off at night. I never had my apartment broken into, nor did I hear of others. However, we did get notices of strangers on the premises many times. Also, cars were being broken into in the 6 spots out front, but you wouldn't get notified by management. You would just see broken glass and windows being taped up and could deduce it. Not professional by the way to not keep your residents safe. *CONSTRUCTION* Inside my apartment was very simple and old fashioned. They remodeled it and added a communication system with the front entrance, but you could just tell your friend the code and they would walk right in. My appliances worked and all my fixtures as well. No big issues but nothing fancy either. My heater and a/c worked well, but sometimes it'd take a while to cool when the summers were very hot. Ventilation was good, insulation ok. *STAFF* I had the biggest issue with the management there. One lady seemed to be the big boss there and she just was not sincere. She seemed like she never cared about anything but revenue and profits. Her henchman was another gentleman (possibly related), who struggled to communicate in English and hold up his end of promises he'd make. He stayed on the grounds most of the time, but again he was not very efficient in maintaining everything. It seemed like he only got the job because he was a relative and credentials for management just went out the window. *OVERALL* Although its a good price point, and a great location to access Houston, I would not recommend this place. The bads far outweigh the goods in the end so please, practice patience, and continue to look elsewhere. Take care.

DONT MOVE IN!!!!!! Its very good at first, everybody is nice, the place looks good but thats it. Theres no parking everybody just gets 1 assigned parking, everybody else has to fight for the 6 spaces in front.Unless your the owners family member then you can park wherever you want and keep your broke down car in one of the 6 spots. And if you have to park in the park across the street good luck because your car can get broken into. Your always being watched by cameras they know everything you do. Cant drink in the common area (the courtyard), cant smoke in your own apartment they make you go outside. And you better pick up you buds because your going to get a note on your door the next day. No swimming pool, no work out room, only 3 washers (always breaking down) and 4 dryers. Everything is good at first but slowly you start disliking the place.

This is the first apartment I have ever lived in on my own. I was really scared to be alone but now that I have done it, I love it!! I think part of the reason I love it so much is because of my apartment. I love, love, love it! I love the staff that work here! They are friendly and attentive. I couldn't have asked for a better place! I really am so happy with my decision to live here. The apartments have all been renovated and they are beautiful! I love coming home every night. It is quiet and everyone is friendly, but not too friendly. I have the best neighbors! We say the "hi and byes" and "have a great day" but they are never intrusive. It is perfect!! I really love my new home. Only downfall is the parking...but soooo worth it!!
