I recently moved into a studio apartment at Cambridge Oaks, expecting a place that was mostly functional, crowded, and a bit dingy like your typical dorm room, but was pleased to discover how wrong I was. The rooms are well kept, efficient (making smaller spaces feel large, which is especially true in the kitchen with all the counter space), and everything works like it should. The staff and community are excellent as well. I had a small problem with my shower and went and told someone in the main office, and within 25 minutes, a repairman has already fixed the problem. The few interactions I've had with the RA's were excellent and they are all friendly and helpful. Something else I'm a huge fan of is that while there are plenty of events and opportunities to meet people, nothing is forced on you. There are no full-day orientations or mandatory meetings every week, meaning if you wanted to be a hermit, nobody would stop you (though I don't recommend doing this). Then there are small things which just improve everything. I went down to do a few tasks in the main building and there was a large array of toiletries for free and available to anybody living there. What a great idea, and I suspect not the last one, either. The package delivery system is great, and the staff is relaxed about parking before classes start so you can park enormous move-in vans next to your door if you wanted to. The rest of the year, parking is hugely available, meaning you can usually park right outside your building. I recommend Cambridge Oaks to students in University near Houston, and especially UH students (proximity), for all the reasons above and many more.

Terrible.... Frequent internet outages/wifi problems, random fee charges, A/C problems, gate problems, water outages. Staff tells us to give positive reviews online for a chance to win a gift card, very laughable. Laundry is communal and have to pay.

Frequent water outages meaning more than once a month and all day despite constantly saying its fixed once and for all, they paint over black mold. The apartment is made of just about every cheap material you can imagine, appliances especially. We had a power outage that lasted over 3 days due to poor maintenance. They are intrusive and constantly knock on your door for inspections. The gate is often broken, making entry security worthless. There isn't a light in the living room which is horrible at night. No ventilation in the bathroom so it is easy to set off a smoke alarm, which you cannot turn off manually and must wait 15 or more minutes for security to shut it off. There isn't a laundry room in any of the units, so you must go to the communal laundry where a lot of the machines are broken at different times. Staff is utterly worthless. There is a dog park, it is right next to UH. Otherwise its a very poor place to live.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. To start off, our door was broken for the first few months, to the point it wouldn't even close and they asked if we could wait till the next day to fix it. There was mold in our bathroom that they simply painted over, and it took an extremely long time for them to do maintenance requests. With the maintenance requests they would ask us to not return to the apartment for 8 hours, and we did so multiple times, even if it was inconvenient, only to return to nothing. Also, the gate was broken multiple times. And, there are many water outages and they'll inform you either the day before or not at all, so you have to wake up early to get ready for the day. They don't even have a light in the living room, just one in the kitchen and 'dining' area, so you have to buy extra lights to make it work. ALSO, they charge you ridiculous fees and when we asked what it is, they come up with BS excuses. My RA never responded when we reached out either. Only pro is it's close to campus, but it's NOT worth it at all.

Christina George is a wonderful RA at Cambridge Oaks. This individual goes out of her way to make sure the residents are comfortable and satisfied. Christina's welcoming smile and positive energy allows the community to truly live, learn, and grow together!

The staff is amazing and so friendly. I've became friends with so many people in such a short time thanks to the hospitality of the RAs. The apartments are s freshly updated and I haven't had any problems since move in (2 months ago).

In my 6 months of living here, I've experienced about 5 wifi outages (each lasting a week at least), gate issues (locked in the complex a few times causing me to be late to work or class a few times) and I'm about to have our 7th water outage. As I'm typing this we still do not have wifi. I feel bad for the students who work here because the management doesn't give them any information to relay to us, so they are left to just say "sorry there's nothing I can do about it". Granted most of the employees I've met there just seem to be there for the free rent and don't treat this apartment like a real job. The rent is cheap, which is what attracted me in the first place, but there's a truth to the saying 'you get what you pay for'. This place is an embarrassment, I and the many people I have talked to about it can't wait to move out.

I moved here for the sole purpose of having close to the campus. I read all bad reviews and still moved here by thinking that what could be worse and I don't care as long as I am close to campus. But But but I was wrong, every single thing is bad here. WORST STAFFS EVER. I would never recommend moving here even if being closest to the campus is only thing you care. Better opt for calhoun lofts it cost almost the same if you calculate. I would have given it MINUS 5 STARS if there was an option. I would never live here even if they pay me to live here seriously..

Good staff and well maintain. Recently improved WiFi and relatively cheap rates for good recommend to any UH student who wants to live on campus. New lockers and renovations happening this summer and fun RA events often with prizes.

I’ve started living here at Cambridge oaks since my freshman year and ever since I moved in my experience have been great. The staff are always nice and accessible. Cambridge oaks is also getting renovated. Getting mail is a breeze thanks to the new self service amazon locker. The apartment is walking distance from campus and if you need to bring a car you will never have to fight for parking!
