I'm at the end of my lease and I'm counting down the end of it. I've been here for 2 years. The first year was great. I didn't have any major issues. Maintenance was like a finely tuned machine, the custodians kept the building clean, and the front desk was awesome. During the second year, the property was bought by The Simpson Group and the property has gone downhill since then. My a/c stopped working at the beginning of May 2013, it wasn't fixed until July. It took me hounding the property manager daily in order to get status updates. In my hallway alone, there's lights out that have been out for weeks! There's always trash in the hallways even though there's a cleaning crew there daily. I have seen the same Qtip in the middle of the hall for a week. Parking is a joke...don't expect to have parking for your guests. No one respects the rules of the property because management doesn't enforce them. They will send out rules and reminders, but don't expect anything to be done. There's more and more college students moving in which has led to loud and rude behavior late at night. Maintenance requests take an act of Congress to get anything done. And if you have ANY kind of problem after 6:00pm, just know that it will not be addressed until the next day because everyone leaves the property at 5:59pm....from maintenance to the property manager. And that's if you get lucky! The front office help is only there to collect a pay check, so expect to get put on the back burner until they find it necessary to actually do something. If it requires them actually doing something more than getting your UPS or FEDEX package, it probably won't get done. The elevators are always broken and very slow. And security...is non existent. This place a conveniently located and gives you great access to 59. But that's the only good thing about this property. For what I'm paying($1500), I expected a lot more. I will never stay at another Simpson Group property. If you read this and still decide to rent here...you have been warned.

I have lived here since last year and I must say I am very disappointed. I choose these apartments mainly for price, they were the cheaper of among the three I was looking at, still more than $1600 a month. I have not had to deal with maintenance since I take care of most of my apartment's constant issues, which do occur due to the overall lack of quality of the construction. Additionally, the walls and ceiling seem to be very thin as I can hear all kinds of noises from all sides of the apartment. The carpets on the hallways are always dirty and stained, slow elevators, dirty swimming pool, a slum in other words. Not to mention trash left in the hallways by residents. It is normal for hallways to smell bad. The worst part about living here is having to deal with the type of neighbors that you will encounter. Mainly childish young people without respect for kids, families, or anything civic for that matter. I will not go into details on this one so I don't offend anyone. Do yourself a favor an skip this place. If I took the time to write this review is because I am trying to help others not to error like I did.

This is the poorest most mis-managed residence in which I've ever lived. My lease increase this year was a mere $369/month. They do nothing about noise complaints, but actually the person making the complaint is treated like the nuisance...mostly because they don't want to deal with you. The false advertising gym TVs have not worked since 2009 when I moved in. Tanning bed bulbs have likely never been replaced and are very weak. Thei accounting sucks. Every month I call to find out exactly how much my rent is because every month I get a notice that I have a balance due. Mind you, I pay exactly what I'm supposed to pay based on my lease, trash/water (which doubled a couple of monthis ago) and hall trash. Oh...they have proprietary light fixtures and you cannot change the bulbs, but they charge you $2.00 to replace one. Same goes for the a/c filter. This place is a massive disappointing ripoff. I can't wait to move and actually get a good night's sleep. I've never lived in a worse place. Oh...also, they don't enforce their inadequate parking. We are supposed to have stickers, yet people going to the theater sneak in all the time and walk over. The access box never works either, so you have to walk down to let your guests in every time.

Not a horrible place to live but just know when you are taking the tour that most of the amenities are just for show. The televisions on the work out equipment stopped working about 4 months ago, each time it was mentioned to management he stated it was the "first time he heard about it". What about seeing it each time you give a tour? The grill out by the pool has very low heat, could only be used for hot dogs, if that. The hot tub is luke warm, o.k for summer months but not winter. Bulbs on the tanning beds are old and useless. They will not notify you when you receive a package, I had to call the companies I ordered from each time only to find out my items had been delivered, twice the girls in the office still said they had nothing until I called UPS and got the name of the person who signed for it, then poof my package would appear. These are all issues I emailed to management about half way through my lease (so I would have proof against the "first time we are hearing about it" claim) but even when I moved out 6 months later the problems were still there. A lot of Fluff!

walls are paper thin! I can hear every step and toilet flush from my upstairs neighbors and conversations from my downstairs neighbors. if they talk loud enough, you can hear every detail...this happens at all hours of the day too. and just recently, i guess my neighbors (two apartments away) just had a baby because I can hear the crying all throughout the night. being a grad student, I find myself not being able to study at home. instead, i would have to travel to the school library, teahouse, or Starbucks, which is quieter (thats sad) the location is ideal. we are center of everything. my lease is coming up this summer and i will not be renewing.

I have to admit that in general, I enjoyed living here and probably would have renewed my lease had my rent not been drastically increased. When my lease was up, the Millennium wanted to increase my rent by $300 per month! That is absolutely ridiculous - especially for the location of the complex and of my apartment (I had a lovely view of 59 and could hear traffic noise at night). I could deal with the less than amazing view and the noise, but I can't deal with that price. I was able to find an equally sized apartment in Midtown for less than that, and it is MUCH nicer on the inside than the Millennium! Other issues: - Visitor parking is terrible - there aren't very many spots and there is no street parking anywhere nearby! If the parking lot is full, you have to have your guests drive around the block to the resident entrance and hope their car won't get towed while they are visiting you. - I lived here for over a year and almost the entire time, the TV attached to one of the treadmills was broken - the sound never worked! I don't understand how this could not have been attended to even once in 12 months. - When I asked for my phone number to be added to the system so I could buzz visitors in, it took over a month for my request to be completed (I had to go down to the office many times and talked to multiple people before this was ever acted on). After I'd moved out and followed up to check when I'd be receiving my deposit back, I was told that it would not be returned because I was being charged for having my carpet shampooed. Let me assure you, I spent many hours scouring every inch of that apartment when I moved out, including the carpet! What I was told is that every resident is charged that fee, unless they have the carpet cleaned on their own. This is the first apartment I have ever lived in that has not returned my deposit, and it sounds like no one ever has a hope of getting it back, no matter how much cleaning they do! I wish I'd known this before I moved, so that I didn't waste hours of my time cleaning. In summary, the Millennium Greenway is a nice place to live, but they will screw you over when it comes time to renew your lease and/or move out.

I have to admit, I was a very happy resident until a new tenant moved in above me and began making unreasonable noises at all hours of the day and night. This started in June and is still going on and I agree with what everyone has said about the management. There has been a high turnover and in certain situations, they are non responsive. Case in point, I kept a detailed log of the dates and times of the noise occurrences in order to demonstrate that this was not normal apartment noise. My issues are not with noise coming through the walls but with noise coming through the floor of the upper unit which is directly above my bedroom. I have no problem with TV, or music or anything like that. I understand that in communal living some noise is to be expected. But loud stomping noises, grating, furniture scraping accross the floor, screaming, heavy thuds, and heavy footsteps between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am is beyond reasonable AND unlawful. Just look up the City of Houston Noise Ordinance. My sleep is disturbed at least 2-3 times a week. I have tried everything, ear plus, noise cancelling headphones, talking to the tenant (they deny it), calling security numerous times and even contacting the Property Owner for a satisfactory resolution. I might add that every time security has come out, the noise seems to get WORSE. So I ask myself this question, are my neighbors trying to "get even" with me for exercising my rights as a tenant. Who wants to live with people with that kind of mindset. And here is another question, does the fact that it's a two bedroom corporate account give them an exemption from being held accountable. In this case, it seems to be that way. I am nearing the end of my lease, and given the circumstances, I have asked to be released without penalty or moved to a 5th floor unit and I even offered to go into mediation with the tenant to try and work this out. I am not a college kid, I am a working busines professional and I work in the service industry. In my opinion, it is clear by their handling of this situation that neither the onsite management or the owner of this property care about customer service or building relationships. The best they could come up with was to move me to the 5th floor but charge me $400 more than I pay now and force me to commit to another 6 months of their special brand of customer service. Give me a break. I work in the building and construction industry and I know the market. There are several newer properties in the neighborhood with comparable (if not better) amenities with upper floor units for less. At this juncture, I would hope that these people figure out that it's in everyone's best interest (including the other tenant) to let me be on my way. On a postive note, I generally safe in this community and had no issues with the previous tenant that lived above me and planned to renew my lease until I started having problems. My advice to anyone interested in this property is to rent an upper floor unit, and/or get a short term lease so if you need to get out, you can and just realize that if you have any serious problems, the service might be lacking.

I've lived at the millennium for almost a year and just re-newed my lease. (it went up a little since last year). I cant believe some of the comments on here, especially about the management being "rude" and always "changing". There are some different people in the office that I noticed more recently but ive seen the same manager ever since I started living here. Teresa, the manager, is nothing but friendly and is so nice and courteous, she is the definition of true customer service. She always has a smile on her face and will make time to sit and talk to you about any concerns or complications while living here. I highly recommend living here because of the great customer service and management. There used to be some problems with cars being broken into when I first started living here, but I havent heard of any in a long time, and ive left my car unlocked a few times and nothing was stolen. I really like how safe it is, since I live by myself, and think that s also one of the main reasons im staying another year. The location is GREAT, 15 mins from work, and everything (galleria, downtown, midtown) is mins away. This is why I picked the millennium and probably wont leave for another year or two. The rent isnt too bad either, but its deff. not cheap, so if price is a big issue, I would look further out. All in all, come take a tour yourself, and if its by Teresa, you'll probably want to stay. : )

I moved to the Millennium about a year ago and back then, I was pretty satisfied. Not anymore. Ever since new management took over a few months ago, things are going down hill. * Cheaply built. * Trash all over the stairway * Service request wasn't even started after a week, and when I inquired to management about it, her response was "oh that sucks" * Management staff changing every 2-3 months * Every time I need to call management about a questions, I get put on hold for 20 minutes at a time, only for someone else to pick up the phone to ask what I was put on hold for. One time I was put on hold for 45 minutes just to answer a 10 second question!

My husband and I were one of the very first renters here at the Millennium Greenway (5th floor, facing neighborhood). We leased for two years and were so sad to leave. The apartment complex is very VERY safe (which is important to me) and is kept clean by a great maintenance staff. The maintenance staff and the office staff were always so helpful to us - especially the maintenance staff who would fix anything in our apartment that needed fixing the same day we would request it. We also loved the covered parking and the elevator service (although, the elevator broke maybe 5 times in two years). Our favorite part of it was that it felt "nicer" than other apartments (although maybe it is cheaply built). But still, it was a short-term place for us and we recommend it to anyone moving to Houston. I would advise living on the 5th floor, facing the neighborhood - it is quiet, safe, and you feel like you feel like you're living in a luxury high-rise.
