I'd call this place about average. Overall I'd say it's not bad. When I moved in about 4 years ago, it was a great place. Maintenance was good, the pool was clean, good pest control, the neighbors were nice, it wasn't bad. Over the years, the property has changed hands quite a bit, and slowly the property has degenerated. The maintenance service is slower and less efficient (I've decided I just won't use the dishwasher, wash by hand). They don't clean the pool anymore. The laundry facilities keep having problems (Seriously? Stealing my cycle? Come on now.) I keep hearing about thefts and it seems to be increasing in frequency. The neighbors are becoming less and less quality: more noisy, more trashy, leaving junk on the balconies where people walk, letting their pets pee in the elevators. About those elevators. I sometimes wonder when it's going to break and if I'll be inside it when it happens. And it smells, for the afore-mentioned peeing from dogs that the apartment staff took two weeks before attempting to clean it. And this last year they forced people to buy into their cable package, and since I don't even watch TV, that's an extra $40/month that they're taking from me for no reason. I almost didn't renew, but the notice was too short for me to find a new place. I can't say that I'm very unhappy, because I'm not. But I know the signs of a property slowly becoming a slum, and when to leave for greener pastures. And when my lease is up, that's exactly what I'm doing.

So my neighbor just informed me of the horrible comments on here about our community. I am deeply disturbed because I tried to have my best friend move here but she did not want to do to the comments on line. Westcreek has by far been the best community have lived at. I personally love ---- the head HPD officer in my building. He has made me feel comfortable and safe. He walks me home at night when Im coming in from work and never complains. Anytime anything happens within our community they immediately they notify us. Far as the person whom they let out of lease penalty free, WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU HAVE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT???!!!! You are lucky they care and are concerned about how you feel living here! Grow up people. I hate they even have sights like this.

Guess its my turn....I have been living in Houston for the past 7 years. I have stayed on the North side, by the reliant, off 610 and chimney rock, and also on the Southwest. I can honestly say this is the best location I have stayed at! My neighbors are friendly and mind their own business and the maintenance is great, i had my toilet stop up in middle of the night and called the emergency number and someone was out in a hour at 2 in the morning. Like the previous comment I too have not had anything ever stolen out my apartment, people should really be careful about who they let in their apartment, from experience. Westcreek keep up the great work, but if anything does happen I will be back!

I am so sorry these residents have had bad things happen. I have lived in Houston for 25 years and never had one break in. Part of me believes certain break ins are due to someone that that person knows. I have lived at westcreek for going on 3 years and never had one problem. Plus i live on the first floor next to the entrance gate! At least we should be happy that management places notices on the door being that it is not a requirement or a law to do so. I know this because I am a real estate agent! It really bothers me when previous residents attack a property and ruin good living for others. I know westcreek has a lot of residents that move in and move out in a few months due to evictions. maybe people should make sure they can afford their rent. I love westcreek and would recommend them anytime to anyone. Don't knock it til you try it. Plus we live in the Galleria area. Minutes away from River Oaks. What do criminals do? They go where they think the money is. So don't blame the property because they try hard by having ACTUAL HPD OFFICERS living on sight!!!!! I blame the residents for the problems of safety here. Every time I come home someone is trying to prop open the gates for their friends when management locks them for our safety! Plus the office staff is very friendly to me and others everytime we come in. I cannot believe you people for targeting this property this way. Shame on you.

I moved into Westcreek a couple of years ago. I knew the complex was older, so I was ready for the usual older complex problems (constant fixing of water and peeling paint). My first year there came with only one weird occurance. They said I did not pay rent, which was odd because it was litearlly my first week in the apartment. They fixed the problem, but I did have many people tell me that this happens quite often, and seeing some of the reviews it does. My problem occured when I decided to move on the first floor. A couple of months into my lease my place was broken into. I know crime happens EVERYWHERE and there is no trully safe location, but that had me shook to the complex in general. I moved out and haven't looked back. This is were it gets tricky for me when it comes writing the review. I actually like Westcreek a lot. I think you pay for what you get, but in general the complex is above normal. The staff is really good and they take care of business. They get problems fixed and I have never been caught off guard by them. The property manager is friendly and accessable and honestly the owners of the property did an excelent job having him to head up the older complex. I think the property itself needs some more maintaing (new layer of paint and a new water boiler would be excelent). The neighbors in general keep to themselves (well except my one neighbor that parked into my assign parking spot, until I told him I will tow his car next time it happens). My one and only beef with the complex is the safety. You can't go a month without seeing a break notice and then having my home violated had me horrified. My horror was magnified when I saw how easy it was to break in, especially when I was gone from my home for an hour and a half. The thing that took me over the top is when I saw the notice on my door the next day about the crime in the apartment it told the other residents that a car was broken into! It made me instantly wonder how many places were actually burgalized (sp) and was marked as something else. The management staff let me out of my lease with no fees, which I'm extremely thankful of and they have been working with me to give my refund. So when it ask "would I recomend this place", I'm on the fence. If you can find a unit outside of the first floor you should be fine (just worry about your car), but if they offer you a spot on the first floor I would be extremely hesitant. If they installed camaras, a security guard walking the property AT ALL TIMES, and other crime deturants I would move back, but getting what you pay for I seriously doubt that they would do anything like that.

While living in the B Bldg, I had my license plates stolen; also during my stay, 2 autos were stolen, one neighbor had an attempted break in, 3 autos had their wheels and rims stolen, 2 tenants and their pets were attacked, by 2 pit bull dogs kept in B29, at the building entrance in March and May/2012, and, and one tenant was mugged in daytime at the entrance to the building in July/2012. Most of these incidents can be verified on the HPD website; I stongly suggest you check for previous reported activity on this site before you decide to move here. The management, Ms. --------------------------------------------manager, was difficult to get ahold of, and would not return calls with regards to my dealings with her.
