I lived at 2221 Westcreek building. The property was kept up and the apartment renovations were very nice. Maintenance was always on top of any work I requested. My stay (2 years) was very nice UNTIL we got notice to vacate due to a shopping center being built. I have to throw Cathy Labrum under the bus because she was so insensitive and unemotional to me during my displacement. I was very insulted in the way her and her office staff treated me. 1) I never got a vacate notice; my neighbor had to tell me. 2) They lost my key and demanded I come to the leasing office and give them a copy so they could then issue the vacate notice. 3) I was accused of lying on my move out date, just so I could get my deposit check back? Sorry Cathy, but you really don't belong in property management. Maybe go work in a boot camp!

I HIGHLY recommend NOT living here. The front office staff has got to have the WORST customer service ever. The office manager is absolutely not of any help with any residential concerns such as maintenance of the property to the apartments it self, to the gym, to the courtyard as well as the up keep of all the pools. On top of it all, It REEKS of pet urine and feces everywhere which only makes matters worst with the roach infestations in and around the apartment complex. As of a woman of color, I was deeply discriminated when I brought my concerns to the manager, ------------, who did not seem to care or solve any of my issues, whereas other residents' concerns would be taken care of. Not only, did I have to endure living in this apartment complex with the roaches and horrible front office staff, but there is construction taking place which can be very loud. The front office staff has not been honest about the projections for the upcoming demolition which raises concerns. I would never wish this type of torture on my worst enemy. DONT RENT HERE

Do not move here. The water quality is terrible. I have had issues with the water for months. At least once per week, the water coming out of the shower is dark yellow. Maintenance says all they can do is "stir the tanks." It is not worth the money.

I keep seeing a lot of negative comments mostly complaining about the apartments being old. Well what did you expect? You can tell just by looking at them from the outside that they are old. However, in my opinion, they are awesome and well-kept. I've never had an issue with the "pool being broke" as one commenter said...whatever that means. The pool area is always clean and pretty much empty in my building. There is never an issue with parking either. Each apartment is provided with one covered parking space and ours is directly in front of the entry gate which is great. There is definitely ample parking in the front of the complex as well. I think the community is very quiet and everyone is very friendly, maintenance and management staff included. I feel safer here than I did at my last few apartments. My lease won't be up until 2014 so I will be sure to come back to give an update but so far I think these apartments are great. I've had friends and relatives live here throughout the years and all have highly recommended Westcreek. I think what I pay is definitely worth it.

These apartments are older, but adequate and well priced for the area. However, there are some concerns: 1. It's very likely they will tear down these apartments sometime in the next few years. The land that they sit on is "too valuable". There really isn't much you can do about this. 2. They gave me a large concession on my first year because the apartment had been empty for some time. For my first renewal, the only raise in cost was paying for cable TV ($40 group rate), instead of getting it for free. However, for my second renewal (April 2013), they tried to jack my rent up by $300 (through a base rent increase and a reduction of the concession). I told them the next day that this was unacceptable and that I would give notice immediately. She then wrote a number on a piece of paper which amounted to only a $150 raise in the rent, which I accepted. 3. They are renting a unit adjacent to mine to some people who have a short term lease for the summer. They are the worst neighbors in the world. They do not care about any of their neighbors, and they seem to understand that their actions have almost no consequences due to the transient nature of their tenancy. This experience has soiled an otherwise acceptable apartment. I must object to the reviews making outrageous claims. These are not really fair. 1. The electricity has NEVER been turned off by the management in the 2 years I have lived here, nor has it ever gone out for more than a few minutes. It would be ILLEGAL for management to turn off the electricity that you pay for from an independent provider (Reliant, etc.) 2. They have worked most of the kinks out in the plumbing for B building. I don't know about other buildings, but the hot and old water here is suitable. They are not shutting the water off "once a week". It has not been shut off in my building for at least a few months. 3. In regards to "soliciting in the pool area" - I have not observed this in the B building. That seems rather absurd when taken at face value. Sometimes people sit near the pool into the evening and are noisy, but this is nothing compared to my downstairs neighbors from hell. 4. Almost all dogs are on leashes, but not all of their owners clean up after them. There's actually a really friendly cat that sleeps outside almost every day. 5. The gates work most of the time. The main problem is people propping open the building entry doors or damaging them so as to allow access without a key. 6. 3rd floor apartments will have a higher utility bill due to the flat roof. Corner 3rd floor apartments are the worst. 7. Sometimes such on the weekend etc the office staff is not the usual staff and they don't know about all of the issues going on, so try again during the week for better success.

****BEWARE***** Long time residents are not being allowed to sign 1 year renewals! Some are even being told 6 months or less! Word down the pipeline (City of Houston Zoning Commission) states the this complex is set for the same fate as 4444 Westheimer in the VERY near future. Do your homework and get everything in writing that you can from the current manager Cathy.

I guess it depends on which building you live in, becuase everyone seems to have a different opinion. But,,, I have lived here since 2010-going on 3yrs now and my best advice is to RUN THE OTHER WAY FAST!!! this place is a trap. after only 1yr my apt was broken into (tv,dvd, remotes, jewelry and all perfumes were stole) i felt so violated! all they did and all they ever do is send a letter out to all residents with a warning~ a yr later brand new honda accord was left on blocks, got the same letter AGAIN! the office staff is just ok, there have been several new faces in the last 3yrs. i just never really go to the office to have to deal w anyone but one time i went in recently there were 4ladies sittins at all 4desk- i walked in and stood there waited to be greeted and nothing- they kind just looked at me like what the hell does she want, i thought that was odd. the reason im here now is because one of my neighbors cars was stolen sometime in the middel of the night last night~ his car is parked at the frot near the office- and he had a club on the steering wheel- these people had tools for the job. and this was the second time about 6mnths ago they attempted to steal the car in day light about 6pm while he was walking his dog- he caught the perps in action and ran them off. 3young salvadorian or guatamalen hoodlems! now comes the traffic- after work and weekends you might as well just stay home- you cant get in or out! westheimer is jammed/conjested with Galleria traffic. just getting home on 610 takes 1hour. its not worth it. this is one of those places that look sweet and neat, urban chic and fun for young singles or couples but not everything that glitters is GOLD!!! The only positive thing i can say about this place is that it is very quiet- you hardly here anything going on- except when the fire trucks go zooming down san felipe. late at night or early sat mornings-i think there is a fire station down san felipe. thank you for taking the time to read this review- i have been completely honest!

If your last place made you feel like valued resident, just know you will lose that feeling quick after you sign a new lease here. This place sounds better on paper with no pictures, noting about this place can be called newly renovated and the property amenities are either a joke or old and ran down. Moving in to a higher floor great, you will laugh when you see that you can't fit nothing more than a night stand in the service elevator. Move-in ready no not really had to clean the place before moving in and found a shot glass in the garbage disposal. parking isn't that great - covered parking area looks worst then parking up front property ground are poor - neighbors don't pick up after their dogs, main gate enterance to my building smells of dog pee, pool and pool area not kept clean, workout facility is gross and the equipment is old and over half don't work, onsite dry cleaning the lady is a joke and wouldn't trust them with my clothes again, trash stains on walkways which attrach ants, out door courtyard lighting is poor and if you have a corner unit get use to the idea of opening your door in the dark. Noise isn't too bad most of the units are vacant for good reason Needed a few things fixed from the moment we moved in, the kitchen sink faucet - still isn't fixed, garbage disposal, bathroom sink and tube finish was peeling - never redone as requested, medicine cabinet shelves were missing - felt like pulling teeth to get them replaced, bathroom vanity drawer was broken - fixed it myself, when putting in a work order they will treat you like you broke it even when you just moved in. No emergancy maintenace on duty to help only to take your call and to tell you they will get to it by the next day. Even if its your AC unit and in the middle of July summer heat. Office staff turn around is bad expect a new face and with no knowledge on how to problem sovle anything. If you have packages delivered to you fallow the tracking number the office will don't know what they sign for, they don't keep a log and they sure as hell don't notify you. NO RESIGNING DISCOUNTS AND YOU DON'T QUILIFY FOR ANY CURRENT RENTING SPECAILS FOR YOUR SECOND YEAR. DON'T WANT TO MOVE OR CAN'T AFFORD MOVING COSTS BE READY TO PAY "MARKET VALUE" PRICES as the office called it. Remember your paying for location and not quality, your paying for location and not great staff, and last but not least your paying for location and not even decent fixtures nothing is the unit could be qualified as newly renovated. Painting a wall and having the 80's mirrors in the dining area framed out and the 2min crown molding in the living room and getting the carpet cleaned isn't newly renovated. Its a half fast job of trying to make this place seem great on paper.

Westcreek at River Oaks is the worst apartment in Houston. Not a great location because there is always traffic in the Galleria area. And you'll get a letter every week saying someones car got broken in to. Not a good price because they jack up your rent about 30% or more after the first year. They try and get you with discounts for the first month but it's not worth it because whatever your paying isn't worth the piece of crap apartment you are getting. The amenities suck, the pools are always broken, the trash is always overflowing, and the elevators are always broken. The apartment is so old so everything is constantly breaking and you can't get anyone to fix anything even if you've put in a maintenance request online a billion times and went and told the front office. The parking is too far so everyone just parks in the front so don't think you're getting more value for an included covered parking spot. The staff is incompetent and doesn't know any of the policies and are not helpful at all and will tell you the wrong thing. They make you notify them 2 months in advance to get out of a lease even if it's month to month which makes no sense and they upcharge you a ---- ton of money for a month to month lease and then tack on an extra fee of $250 and they don't inform you of any of this. They really are scam artists because they have hidden fees, ------ policies, and ------ apartments for the price they are charging. After comparing my experience with 8 of my friends who live in other complexes, Westcreek at River Oaks is THE WORST!
