I LOVE THE SIZE OF MY UNIT, MAINTENANCE IS AWESOME.. THE LOCATION (BUS ROUTE, STORES). ITS NOT TOO LOUD... PARKING IS OK. ON THE OTHER HAND THE ROACHES...........TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU CLEAN/DECLUTTER ETC. THE ROACHES ARE HORRIBLE. I CANT EXPRESS IT ENOUGH... THESE ARE THE BOLDEST ROACHES I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED.. IN THE FRIDGE ON THE FRIDGE IN CABINETS, STOVE. EVERYWHERE.ACTUALLY FOUND TWO IN MY BED 2 SEPERATE TIMES. THE STRAY CATS......OMFG... I WOULD RECOMMENDTHESE APTS BUT THE ROACHES ALONE JUST KILLS EVERYTHING. I BOMBED 8 TIMES... (YES EIGHT) STILL DEALING WITH THESE THINGS....

I was approved for a apartment with a cosigner for move in for June 3. My lights, mail and everything else was being transferred and I get a call saying they made a mistake and I should not been approved...well I have been calling for almost a month after you took my deposit and I paid 2 application fees. I call to see when will they refund all the money I give them they had the nerve to hang up in my face. They will tell you one thing and next week it is something else.They are very inconsiderate,rude,unprofessional and dishonest.I will be calling the Apartment Association and the BBB about this matter of getting my application fees. deposit and administration fees back. I work hard for my money and to be told 5 days before I have to move out of my previous apartment "THEY MADE A MISTAKE" is unacceptable

I been living here 5 months and I love it very quiet community at first I wasn't happy because of the location but I been here and is a very chilled place they keep the property clean will b renewing my lease soon the staff is also friendly ?

I LIKE THE APARTMENTS IS A QUIET ENVIRONMENT ONLY THING IS THERE IS ALOT OF PUDDLES WHEN IT RAINS . OFFICE AND MAINTANCE ARE FRIENDLY THE PET DEPOSIT IS HIGH AND YOU ALSO PAYA PET RENT BUT OVERALL IS A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE

I made my spread here 3 months ago, it's clean before I moved in I check out other spots in the area, found this place to be the cleanest, the people in the office were aight, they drilled me about the parking, they talked about a split rent deal. my job cut my hours so I signed up for the split deal, they don't play when it comes to rent, but they do take care of maintenance, look we aint friends, but some of what I read here aint da case, its aight, oh yeah no pits here, Dat being said ima be here for a min.

I been in my apartment about a week now. The first day I came to the apartment to move a few things in, it was guys sitting on the steps smoking weed in front of the apartment I am now renting. Those guys are my neighbors. Scary. The apartment also has a lot of little roaches everywhere. When I say a lot, I mean a lot. Hopefully when they come & spray it will kill them. I can't invite anyone over with roaches everywhere. Disgusting!! If u sign up for flex pay, it's gonna be your whole lease term. Its not just a one time thing. Thankfully I only signed a 6 month lease. Hopefully things get better

THIS IS AN UPDATED REVIEW! UNFORTUNATELY I WAS ONLY ALLOWED TO WRITE ONE REVIEW ON THIS WEBSITE SO I DELETED MY OLD ONE AND JUST DECIDED TO SUMMARIZE AND TALK ABOUT MY CURRENT RUN IN WITH THESE CROOKS! Please run from these apartments they are will take advantage of you financially, they are not honest, the staff are incompetent, the appliances are outdated, and the maintenance team are trash.... These apartments are not worth a penny at all! I decided not to renew my lease in March once my lease ended instead I decided to pay month to month because it was convenient for me and plus I have had several altercations with these apartment so I refused to sign another lease with them tying me in a contract with them financially. So I finally found a new place with an excellent leasing office and beautiful apartment (inside and out) which is why I gave Brookbend my 30 day notice! After paying my last month rent for them I asked ----- if I owed anything else and she told me that I did not owe anything but my utilities and that it would be forwarded to my current address. However when I received my bill it was $661.00 and after I called ----- to see why I was billed for so much she told me that I was charged a relented fee for $394 and another fee for $174 along with many other fees stating that I would be charged those fees if I did not pay my utilities within 30 days but I moved out July 23 and today is August 20.... Does that seem like 30 days to you? Exactly so once I continue to protest against that she puts me on hold for 15 minutes and finally comes back and tell me that she will waive the charges if I pay $41.13 before August 22, 2013 however how can the charges be waived if I did not owe you those fees from the beginning however I agreed to pay the $41.13.... So I come to the leasing office with my money order and a letter personally typed up by me for them to sign because I have been taken advantage of this property before financially due to their own incompetency so I wrote a letter stating exactly what ----- told me and the conversation we had and that my account was cleared after paying the $41.13 however ----- told me that she would not sign the document because ----- was the person she had the conversation with therefore she should sign the document. So I wait for ----- for 30 minutes until she finally gets back to the office and after taking my money order and reading my letter she asks ----- if she should sign it. And of course as usual disrespectful ----- tells ----- in front of me as well as in front of other customers that if she wanted to sign the letter that was up to her and that my letter practically doesn't mean anything. So ----- tells me that she's not going to sign it and all of a sudden all hell breaks lose and I lose my temper and cuss both of these incompetent idiots out which resulted ----- asking me to leave. Thank God I am not a product of my environment because instead of letting the old me come out and really clowning and showing my behind I decided to hit them where it really hurts. I contacted SMI Reality corporate and requested to speak with another supervisor other than Leah, actually I requested to speak to Leah's boss because I have talked to her time and time again and she was just as ignorant and disrespectful, plus she told me she was going to contact me regarding another complaint I had on maintenance and she never returned the courtesy call. After venting to the SMI HR they also suggested that I contact Houston Apartment Association and they were highly disappointed in the customer service I have received for the past two years. My friend recently moved her and her family into these apartments and she is literally paying the price with all the hidden fees because of the miscommunication and incompetency of the staff and I tried to warn her and she plans on moving out as soon as possible because like me she believes that these people are liars and crooks. I decided to take it to higher power because I was not about to allow someones ignorance to put me in a compromising position, I recently graduated from college, snagged a good paying job, and have a 5 week old child so the ignorance of ----- and ----- were definitely not worth me throwing all the blessings God blessed me with away for some foolishness. And by the way my attorney will be in contact with them soon to ensure I will not be financially manipulated again because I refuse to pay something later on down the line that I do not owe... Trust me these people are good for that so please people move here at your own risk you can't say nobody warned you. God bless :)

I wish I would have read these reviews before putting a deposit down. These apartments have horrible customer service. They say they will call you back and never do. I am waiting to be put in an apartment since they leased the one i put my deposit on. They do not communicate with each other. I can't even cancel my application because then they won't refund my deposit because they "held an apartment" for me and someone else could have been given that apartment. So it is for liquidated damages. STUPID!!!

OMG!!!! SO I JUST GOT MY KEY TO MOVE IN TODAY AT 5:51PM WHEN I OPNE THE DOOR TO THE APARTMENT ROACHES EVERYWHERE WHEN I SAY EVERYWHERE EVERYWHERE AND I GOT A ONE YR OLD WITH ME TRYING TO PICK THEM UP HELL NO SO INSTEAD OF ME MOVING IN I WILL BE AT THE OFFICE TOMORROW TO GIVE THEM THEY KEY AND TO GET MY MONEY BACK OR I WILL BE CALLING A LAWYER MY KID CANT STAY IN SOMETHING LIKE THIS.....RUN RUN RUN RUN

I regret ever coming to this dirty and relapse apartment manned by crook, irresponsible and incompetent agents. I have a very serious and threatening repair that has been pending for over one year. I have spoken to management uncountable time but to no avail. They only tried to collect rent, enforce irregularities and even tried to compel you to pay when their system fails. You wake up in the morning and you can find your car. Then, they will ask you to pay thier towing agent for no reason and the sticker they fail to provide to you. This apartment needs a total overhaul and look at the incompetence,irregularities and corruption therein. Please if you don't want to be UNHAPPY like me, RUN, RUN very far from this apartment
