My boyfriend and I moved in two months ago into our townhome and we love all the extra space & garage. Leasing staff was very helpful and they have events where you can get to know your neighbors, perfect for us since we are new to the area. I had a couple issues with my washing machine but maintenance was able to get it fixed and working fast. The location is perfect since we are close to 3 grocery stores and to major highways here in Houston. Don't miss going by to see an apartment because I know we love living here.

my husband and I went to tour the apartment last year in august we loved everything about it the leasing agent was amazing and still is. we quickly signed the lease and moved in. just maybe 3 months after we moved in we had our apartment broken in to so much for the security they have patrolling he does nothing but sit in his vehicle in one area. the apartment upgrades looked great at first but then realized that they have done a crappy job. we had the worst neighbors she complaint about everything she even complaint about my husband parking his truck in front of her door, hello its not your parking you don't pay for it. the other neighbor is a drug dealer you will see cars coming in and out at all hours of the day.we ended moving out after the year was up, I couldn't deal with the high rent and annoying neighbors. if you are going to pay top money look around you will find something much nicer.

I have lived at this complex for a year now. I pay 1056 for a one bedroom one bath. The inside does have some nice upgrades, mostly in the kitchen, but for the cost of rent, the service is not up to par! Maintenance requests are the worst! Be prepared to have to make several calls about the same issue before receiving a maintenance person to come to your apartment. I have had several issues with my air condition. These issues occurred during the hot summer months,so I assumed they would've been top priority but they weren't. There is a drain that hangs over the tub as an emergency drain for the air conditioner;that drain has been leaking for 3 days now. Not only is it dripping cold water all day and night, but it is also dripping soot as well. Needless to say, this is very unsanitary to have that dripping down on you while you are showering. Also, retreat at steeplechase has now begin accepting section 8 vouchers a neighbor told me. I haven't asked the leasing office staff about this yet,but it is pretty much evident in the new wave of tenants that have recently moved in. The entrance gate is almost never closed, and if it is,9 times out of 10,your access card is not going to work. Retreat is not the worse place to live, but it is definitely NOT worth the premium rent that they are charging their residents!

I moved into The Retreat at Steeplechase in March 2015. I moved from a home of 27 years so the 2 car garage was a plus for me! Before moving in the office staff was over friendly, afterwards they were a bit dry, especially when I came in with complaints, they seem better now. What I don't like about the apartment is the master bedroom tub has a "sinks" in the middle making you have to plant your feet on each side of the sink to balance, the drain in both bathrooms are ugly/rusty/peeling, cutting out my bubble baths, the face basins seem to be washing away revealing rust spots, I guess they were re-painted. My last negative issue is the front gate has been broke for 7+ weeks and I have been informed it will be out until 2016, the gate budget for 2015 is out! But we do have security on the property. Another plus is the gym, free amenities and activities. Nowhere is "perfect" but so far I am happy!
